This rant is pretty lame. If any of you know about Jordan releases, or limited edition Nike releases the same thing happens every time. Sites like Nike.com, finishline.com, footlocker.com, etc crash every time there is a major Jordan Retro release, or major limited edition Nike release all of these sites crash, and the shoes sell out within minutes. So the fact that this is happening, is no surprise. The phone is one of best phones on the market, and the price is the best price on the market. So until they get enough stock for these phones, expect this fiasco to keep on happening.
They should definitely keep the screen size under 5". There needs to be a clear distinction between the Galaxy Note line and the Galaxy S line of phones. The S3 is quite big already, there is no need for the S4 to be any bigger. Hopefully the 5" screen size ends up only being a rumor.
@MatteoRodrigo seriously anything would have better volume levels than the GNexus! The volume is one of my main issues on the GNexus. on another note, I am pissed that Google failed to notify of the availability of the Nexus 4! I signed up to be notified, and nothing came through. I get home only to find out it sold out.
This is crap!! I signed up to receive notification of when the damn phone would become available and didnt get any reminder. I am so pissed right now. I wonder when they will have them available again?
@SkyPira I get what you're saying! Im just hoping this year, they wont screw us in the states here over by releasing overseas first, as far as the unlocked variant goes. I hated having to bust out the money I did, to have mine at launch. Also, hopefully no more carrier variants.
@SkyPira How do you confuse 4 and 7?!?!? Since it is the 4th Nexus there is no reason for it not to be called Nexus 4! the first Nexus was called the Nexus One, remember!
Swype has been my go-to keyboard since I stopped buying phone with physical keyboards. I honestly hate typing on touchscreens, so Swype makes it so much faster and easier for me to do. Last year when I got my Galaxy Nexus and Swype was taking their sweet time to update, I was absolutely miserable having to type everything on the screen. I tried many different keyboards including Swiftkey and it just didnt do it for me. I actually reverted back to the stock ICS keyboard after trying swiftkey. I have used many keyboards such as the Touchwiz keyboards, HTC Sense keyboard, Motorola multi-touch, Swiftkey, 8pen, GB ICS and JB keyboards and SlideIT over the years, but I always come back to Swype.
hopefully this mess of only having 8GB on board is not true! I currently am struggling with the 16GB that my galaxy nexus offers, pretty much have dropbox uploading all my pictures so I can free up room on my phone. I would pay more for a 32GB variant! hopefully we do get the SD card slot, though!
Maybe this is something that Google requested, since this is a Google Nexus device! I would understand why Google would ask for some uniformity as far as Nexus phones go. So don't go blaming LG without the facts. Im still on the fence about this phone, as I am not a big LG fan. I have a Gnexus, and have previously owned a Nexus One, and am/was super happy with those phones. I was looking forward to maybe another Samsung Nexus or maybe a return to an HTC Nexus, heck at this point I would even like a Motorola Nexus, but LG has left a bad taste in my mouth after the G2x debacle, and the fact they did not support the G-Slate after its launch. Im still hoping for the launch of multiple Nexus phones devices. As for the fragmentation you speak of, it has nothing to do with the Nexus line. so when talking about the Nexus devices please dont bring up fragmentation, as it has really no room in this discussion.
@braydon_c @HumbertoRubio dont forget they are comparing it to the iphone5 in these pictures, so it will definitely look super wide. from what it looks like, it should be about the same size as the Gnexus!as for the author of the post saying the design of the LG Nexus looks, "busy" , I dont see what you're talking about at all. Its a black slab in the front and the rear cover has a bit of a design on it. it actually looks quite plain if you ask me. Im still on the fence about this phone, dont know if it will make me give up my GNexus.
Great marketing on their part!
with the U.S. version being essentially the same it should be ported to work for us, pretty quickly! This is awesome news. Im still debating if I want to get one or not! Hopefully, there will be a new Samsung Nexus phone, that is the only thing that will keep me from getting the Note 2!
@SpoorthyVemula thats what the app drawer is there for! What more do you want from the stock launcher?
The price on that app is ridiculous, and so is the size! I purchased it last week during the $0.25 sale that they had running in the Play Store. I tried playing it on my GNexus and it was running like ass! I havent tried playing it since the first time I tried, so I will try again! The price and the size are a bit too much. Still not as stupidly priced as the Final Fantasy game though.
Wish the nasty taste I still have in my mouth from the LG G2x and G-Slate, Im not really too crazy about having an LG Nexus device. I was really hoping for an HTC but more for another Samsung device. If it does end up being a LG device, I will more than likely end up getting the Galaxy Note 2!
For those saying that the Galaxy Nexus was not the most powerful device, I agree it definitely was not. Though, I will say that the GNexus' hardware does work very well with the software. I am speaking of the GSM/HSPA version not the CDMA version. I get excellent battery life with the Samsung battery and the standard battery. I'll wait to see what the actual announcement ends up being, but not thrilled about LG being the possible manufacturer!
Until its available on the Nexus line of phones, I could care less! Plus, why would they pick HTC over Samsung! Samsung with its market leading, sales, would seem like the obvious choice for PSN Mobile! Oh well, hopefully that will change soon.
@JQuest81 I thing that they are going to try and go after both of them, actually! I know that they are already eyeing the S3, but Im sure once the Note 2 comes out, they will try to lump it into the series of devices to be banned. I think its funny as hell! I can say that in the last week and a half, including my GF, I know of about 6 people who have gotten Galaxy S3s. So, yeah they are selling like hotcakes. Every where I go, I see S3s.
Hahaha, Im at close to 7Gb, of cellular data, for the month and I fall into the 25-34 category. Wifi usage is closer to 2Gb. I stream my music from Play music, slacker, Digitally Imported, and also use Watch ESPN.
Oh thank God, i thought it was my phone that was messing up! Hope they fix it soon, it is quite annoying to have that notification pop up all the time.
@dtriple313 and that phone would be over $700!
