@Bay Area Sports Guy @ChrisSherwood Not criticizing, mind you! Just getting a couple things cleared up. As I said, the rest is totally spot on. Here's a link on the 12-man-huddle thing in case you're interested: http://www.csnbayarea.com/49ers/referee-explains-no-flag-49ers-12-men-huddle

Couple points of order. Yes the Panthers and Niners were equal in yardage, but the lax 'don't get anyone injured' defense on Ted Ginn's 59 yard meaningless run at the end of the game is what brought the Panthers back to equal. And the refs have since explained why they didn't call the 12 men in the huddle penalty: guys were still reporting as eligible while the 12th player was on the field, so it wasn't a live ball and thus not a foul. Needless to say, I agree that the Niners found their footing in the second half and wound up outplaying the Panthers in every facet of the game (except ST coverage; thanks a lot, Ted).
Uncontroversial opinion: I can't stand Gary and Larry. Ifind them grating and obnoxious to the point that you'd think they consider it a virtue, or a badge of honor. I like Kate Scott, but good as she is she's not worth sitting through Gary and Larry.
More controversial opinion: I don't really mind Fitz and Brooks. They're maybe the most schtick-dependent guys on KNBR, but I only ever listen to them for like 10 minutes in a sitting while I'm driving somewhere. They're a fine option if you don't want to learn anything about sports, which isn't exactly high praise but I can live with them.
I'd rather listen to F+B than Marty, who puts me to sleep when his vague nonsense statements "he just looks like a ballplayer" don't have me banging my head against a wall. For a guy who loves baseball as much as he does, he seems more interested in sounding like an insider than he is in getting his facts straight.
