What would happen if a team tried to implement the triple option in the NFL?
@LambeauOrWrigley I have not been cured, dammit.
@JVince 11 Troy likes to anchor with his rectum. Kill two birds with one stone.
That is, alas, usually the magic answer to every question.
@LambeauOrWrigley You know, only dicks make fun of double amputees. Dick.
@tmonson78 I think a real playoff would be the best thing that could happen for the smaller schools. Right now, players coming into the game know that unless they go to one of the premier BCS contenders, they will never have a prayer of playing for a championship. Unlike, for example, NCAA basketball, where you can attend a tiny school like Davidson and know there is a theoretical chance that one day you might be in the Final Four. If there were a real tournament in football, smaller schools could compete for elite talent and the best players might be more likely to take the hometown option.
@LambeauOrWrigley That's not hard. Hire a bunch of 400-lb sows to wobble their flab. Problem solved.
Why does the NCAA allow itself to be held hostage by the BCS?
@tmonson78 I knew about Division 1-A and 1-AA. I was more wondering what the purpose of the original split was. If it was based on scholarships, then it sounds like it was for purposes of equity: to prevent the bigger, well-funded schools from running over the smaller ones.
@tmonson78 It sounds to me like the NCAA needs to go to an equitable system whereby opponents are assigned by the conference or the division (perhaps on a rotating schedule) rather than hand-picked by the teams themselves. That would eliminate the incentive to select patsy opponents for the sole purpose of inflating records. Of course, that would also fuel the call for a real playoff, so I suppose the NCAA would block any move to toward a system like that.
@JVince 11 What did the NCAA gain by splitting out the FBS and FCS?
@Maized and Confused Still doing play by play.
@tmonson78 What do you mean the current state of the BCS? Trying to get into the playoffs?
@Bro Montana Say hi to Bob Uecker for me.
@___bp___ I find it amusing that Viterbo University, a small NAIA school in my hometown, has beaten Minnesota at baseball a few times.
@JVince 11 Would I be correct in assuming there is no FCS school with a winning record against the FBS?
@J. Walter Weatherman In that case, his anal sphincter must be flaccid as a spaghetti noodle.
@Preparation_A I would be surprised if the girl on the left is less than 17.
@jwoude23 Bear Down I am no gamer, but I would be surprised if Microsoft does not own at least some stock in EA.
