I agree with Taryn, but the problem is right in front of us and we don't see it.

Why we ALL accept that is OK for a few long legged girls to keep the sunshine away with umbrellas at each and every motorsport event, for the pilots? Why Danica doesn't have male model with umbrella? Because we will be terrified and we all thought that it will be sexist. No? So how women will love motorsport if we ALL accept umbrella girls? Or show queens? We cant and most import, they can't be past that.

It is wrong but we ALL accept that.

Anyway, I really have to say something about that Russian girl with the Soarer drift car: What the hell was that turbo setup? Firs words when I saw that TURBO was the words of Cartman from South Park:

That is way cool! The body of a stock Esprit never really make me love the car, but now, after 30 years sitting this low .... well, you could never go wrong. So so cool.

Regarding the engine I don't know if I like it or not but I love the fact that somebody is moving something in supercar swaping department. It seams that swaping an engine is still something you do with a cheap car or race car and nobody is touching Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus or McLaren. So, yeah, sounds great.

Sir Sterling,

You lived a long and beautiful life, you are a great man, a great racer, a champion.

I really want to ask you this:

1.What you would prefer right now? To make a donut at a stop light somewhere in New York in a BMW 7 Series in front of a shocked crowd or take a relaxed drive on a country road in a Renault Espace in Southern France?

2.When you think at your past racing rivals, in your mind, it was somebody that you thought that was faster, better, sharper, luckier than you? I'm looking for a rival that nobody today remembers but you had kept him alive inside you.

3.If tomorrow you will wake up and find that you are 25 years again....what you will make of your life? You would go race again? Formula 1? 24 Heurs Le Mans? Drifting? Rally? Or you'll leave everybody wonder and drove of and live a quite life doing....what?

4.After all this years, what do you think that cars, in generally, lost? The spirit? The human touch? Or are they way better and we should never feel sorrow for the past?

All the best from Romania.

Hey Peter, I don't know where are you from, but in Europe American engines are not that cool or that performance orientated. Also, it will help you find out that an Alfa Romeo 8C is a car that Chevrolet won't equal in a decade or so. To have 620 hp from a 6.2 engine? Not that great. You said many times here that the ZR1 engine is "all alloy". So what? European car had all alloys when all American muscle cars had live rear axels. Wait, that was until yesterday.

Anyway, not a fan of your words.

And I bet that Bertone choose the Corvette underpinnings because of the cost. You know, technologies are expensive for a one off car.

You should go out more often.

I saw 6 years ago a Ferrari 250 LM at a auto show. I remember that I must have spent an hour or so near that white car. I never saw anything like that since or before. Seeing it in pictures doesn't do much for the design. It was huge, yet so slim and weightless, massive but with a feeling of featherweight aluminium chasis. Never will forget that car.

Really cool looking car. I remember as a kid passing every day going to school a Karmann Ghia and looking wondering what it was. After few years, the wheels just started to sink into the road and the windows were smashed. I was still looking at the car when, someday, the car was take it away. I remember my first thoughts were if I was to ever see a car like that again. I was, 15 years later when it was too expensive for my to buy...

Question - it is still pleasure in driving a F1 car or the politics, the pressure from teams/fans, money involved in the contract, etc., has taken away the fun of it?

Another one - It is fun or scary?

@somedisplayname @greenroadster  Well, I have a Soarer for track drifting and it's been a project for a long time and a lot of money. After years in working progress a thousands of euros, it would be stupid to kiss the firs wall, just for the fun of it. If you are rich or don't care about your car, you can always do that. But that has nothing to do with drifting. You know that drivers that crash in front of huge crowds that gather to see cool cars leaving some car shows? Just to show how cool they are. You are that driver my friend. I said just let those stunts to professionals in Formula Drift, not ruin your car at grassroots events. It's lame.

When introduced the M4, BMW had put together a drive test in my city with all M cars. Although I drove the car with 270 kmh (legally if I may ad so because BMW had arrange with the highway police that it would be safe when traffic allowed us to floor it) well, actually, I kind of fell in love with the M6! It pulls harder, sounds better and feel planted on the road. Never the less, I can understand why it's faster the M4 around any track. Still, I prefer the M6 any day.

Funny fact - at 270 km/h, behind other M cars, my windshield cracked every 10-15 seconds. The huge rear tires had thrown so many little dust stones that, at the end of the day, the windshield looked almost white.

First of all, 458 is not a beautiful car. It has a pointy nose, it's to sharp and to fatty on the back, all wheels looks bad on this car, the tail lights are ugly and too small and inside is to flashy and cheap.

Want a beautiful car? Take a 250 GTO and put in it the engine, the gearbox and suspension of a 458 Italia.

That would be perfect.

1 month, 3 weeks ago on Discussion: Can You Make A Ferrari 458 Better Looking Than It Already Is?

While I totally get what is all about the 250 GTO, I wonder how much really this car would worth if were to make it today. If Ferrari were to build in 2014 a beautiful aluminium body, a 3 litre high compression engine with a manual dog-leg gearbox, no fancy electronics, big fat tires 2 seats car, it would be more than 200.000 euro's? I don't think so.

Further more, if Toyota or Volkswagen were to build the same car today, it would cost more than 60.000 euro's? I don't think so.

Of course that this GTO would probably worth more than the buyer paid next year. And it should. It's a great piece of history right there. But that kind of cars shouldn't be that exclusive in this days. Why nobody want to produce a car like that? Why in 2014 we all drive heavy cars with all the pleasures from our living room and all the passion of a lazy night watching soap opera?
