@kyogre325 It's been going great the past two days. I think you'll enjoy Android and Me, especially with all of us over there. But yeah, it's definitely sad to see DroidDog go.
1 year, 9 months ago on DroidDog's Final Post And A Very Special Announcement...Will You Join Us?
@TheDark_Knight I assure you, it does not. Head over to Androidandme.com, it's the same folks from DroidDog with a few remaining from AndroidandMe making us feel like n00bs. You'll still get to enjoy my writing ;)
Ah, I'm gonna miss DroidDog!
@stannmann Hoooly hell

@neoslink1 A contest it is!
@RaduTanasescu Four. Two high end, two mid end. One high end phone for the masses, the "Nexus 4" of the bunch, if you will. One mid end phone for those who can't afford a high end phone. And two phones for niche categories, rugged and point and shoot.

@Rambohacker Of course! But a lot of people prefer to simply stream it and keep their SD card free of music. But that pre-load option is always there, and with today's update, downloading is even faster than before.
1 year, 9 months ago on Google Play Music Update Offers Better Bandwidth Management
@JQuest81 You BETTER take it back. Haha, but really, this looks pretty cool.
@popartist I wouldn't say the same level. It still offers significantly less for many people. But yes, Apple is trying (and succeeding) in getting people to stay in their ecosystem.
1 year, 9 months ago on iOS 7 Looks Great, But Does It Offer Anything For The Android Enthusiast?
@JQuest81 I like the look of iOS 7 too! It looks pretty nice, in my opinion. Just wish they would get rid of the crayons. Glad you liked that one! And yeah, I'm really excited to update my father's iPhone 5 and play with it. Though I love Android, I'm always excited to try out something new.
@MatteoRodrigo @jpb I actually disagree with you on "manufacturers could care less about Android.." part. Samsung cares quite a bit. The AT&T Galaxy S II just got an update to Android 4.1.2 with all the features of the Galaxy S III, and as an owner of the S II, I absolutely adore this new update, It breathes new life into this device. Plus, the S III and Note II will be getting the new TouchWiz UX from the S 4 eventually.
@TheDark_Knight With any device that's 4.1 and above, like the Galaxy S II and Galaxy S III (in Europe on 4.1.2) and Galaxy Note II (same, only 4.1.2), and now Galaxy S 4, Samsung gives you a menu to customize your toggles! I can get you screenshots of this UI if you'd like, but on my S 4 and S II and Note II, I have them set up to my preferences.
@MatteoRodrigo Yep, my photo was from a Galaxy S 4. I specifically chose TouchWiz because of the layout. Toggles, then brightness, then music is EXACTLY how Apple did it. Made me chuckle. And it doesn't matter if you have a Mac or PC, choose the phone based on software preference! Play with an iPhone, try out some new Android devices like the HTC One and Galaxy S 4 (their speed and usability blows the aging GNex out of the water, even though the GNex is still great).
@TheDark_Knight Indeed I was :P

@TheDark_Knight Yeah, I am. Samsung is my lifeblood. :P just playing around
@TheDark_Knight YOU'RE STALE /fanboyism
@573W1E Thanks! And strangely, it doesn't. I tried using it, finding out Samsung did not include it.

1 year, 10 months ago on Strange Photo Contains Rumored HTC M4, Sony Togari, And Nokia Lumia 1030
@kanoneyez I wish. But 1. I can't travel too much, especially living with parents. Almost being 20 doesn't mean much to foreign parents. And 2. I can never shoot with a person who uses a Canon ;)
@kanoneyez Haha deal, I'll do it either today or tomorrow. Thanks for finally talking me into seeing it.
@kanoneyez Arguable, I enjoyed seeing the HTC M4 outside of a render. But not like these devices will launch anytime soon here in the states. Also, is it bad that I've never seen Up?
@kanoneyez I know the man who posted it was French, and I'm sure this is not a photo from the US. We wouldn't be seeing US variants of devices this soon.
@kanoneyez Good call! It's definitely a possibility
@Gamercore I got it to work just fine. Try refreshing the page a few times.

Very possible. Didn't see that one
1 year, 10 months ago on Nexus 7 Goes Through Bluetooth Certification Again, Might Be With Android 4.3
@SkyPira Yep. But while a lot of people may find that more appealing, it would cause confusion with the general public. S III didn't really look like a word, but combining a letter and a roman numeral beyond that is not the smartest thing. S IV looks like SIV, which could look like siv. What's a SIV? I know it seems silly, but I guarantee there would be confusion from quite a few people. And it's Samsung's job to make their branding as clear as possible. So while S 4 is nowhere near as pretty or elegant, it's probably for the best.

1 year, 10 months ago on HTC Explains Reason For Not Including MicroSD Slot In US/UK One Models
@PhillKelsey Yep, but that's quite a way back. Their design philosophy changed soon after. I meant more recent devices, to highlight that their design philosophy no longer includes SD slots.
I donno what you're talking about O_o

@JQuest81 Looks fantastic! Love the categories. I'm far too lazy, and just use the app drawer more than I should. Also love the icon theme! Too bad it costs money, I might just have to buy it.
@BrainRoopull Actually, as far as I know, Google Now had to be hacked a LOT, for a long time, to get it working on ICS. I know this because I used Google Now on ICS, and it was a mess for the longest time. It integrated with APIs only available on Jelly Bean, which could not just be put on the Play Store for ICS devices. They were OS level. This is why Google's latest efforts are to put APIs into Google Play Services, which update separately from firmware. Google Now on iOS is far more limited (I have used it), and this is due to restrictive APIs. But Apple makes those APIs available across all their devices, because of fast updates. So don't start blaming Google! They are actually getting around the updating issues with firmware-agnostic APIs.
1 year, 10 months ago on Google Subtly Teased Key Lime Pie At I/O
@MatteoRodrigo Easier to see when just partially pulling the phone out of your pocket, or just viewing from a distance. Not like that room would be used by icons anyway, for most of us.
@djsmobiles Haha no, just an error. Check it again, fixed!
1 year, 10 months ago on Update: All Issues Fixed! Google+ For Android Updated With Many New Features From New Web UI
@djsmobiles The app is currently incompatible with every Android device I own. You're not alone.
@BrettBron To get this style, you'll need the Colourform theme for HD Widgets. Right now, it's an extra $0.99 (I don't like that they're charging for a theme for a paid app). Then you'll be able to switch themes while creating a widget at the top. It can really easily match the "Nexus" styling Google made, so it may be worth a purchase for you.
@TheDark_Knight Thank you! Yeah it's been a hectic week, especially for a man on vacation.
