Man sounds like I need to go to Detroit more often!! I live in the Tri-Cities & Kustoms are dead up here. They are a very rare sight but its always been my favorite style. Here all the "cool" kids drive pontiac G6s with HID kits & sound systems or lifted trucks. Anytime i see a 50s style ride it makes my day! Ive been looking for an early 50s Chevy to fix up as a nice driver but i have yet to find the right deal

That under-slung roadster was NOT built by Joe Moreno. It was built by a man named Richard Riddell. He built the car for around $5,000. He has also restored a 50s show car called the Black Widow, among other cars. Unfortunatley Richard past away a few years ago. He was a great builder and I just want to see him get his due credit.

It is so cool to see dirt  track racing on Speedhunters. I've been involved with demo derbys & dirt tracks since i was a little kid. My local dirt track just reopened last summer after being closed for a decade & even though renovations have been ongoing every single weekend there is a huge crowd. Unfortunatley I have to go to Flint to see any Outlaws run but we always have Stock, Late Model & Modified cars run. For alot of guys this is their Nascar but it's still a family oriented event (for both the spectators & racers) Im out at the track just about every weekend with my dad and i cant wait to share it with my kids!

That green ford coupe... absolute perfection! & the sad thing about that funky art car is that it started out as a Chrysler Imperial... of course they were funky looking cars to begin with but they were very luxurious handmade cars & they are really rare now

The Charger is cool... but I can't believe you skipped over the Road Runner drag car next to it! Pro-street Chargers are everywhere but when is that last time you saw a modified Plymouth?... let alone a sweet drag car that looks street legal! I hope its from the same shop as the Charger & we can get a closer look at it in the future

I normally hate pastel colors on any rod... but that '26 roadster looks great! It has all the right traditonal touches (that winshield is an esspecialy nice custom touch!) & that color really works well with those Radirs & white walls. It definitly stands out!

Wow its so cool to see Lutz & Larson at the same event. Lutz's 57 is bad ass! If your interested Sean there is a great video by Hot Rod of this years drag week that shows both of those cars running on the street & going 10/10ths at the strip. Just search "Roadkill" on Youtube & the Drag week video will be one of the first videos

@Jamie Binnie its the same car. That intercooler piping gives it away. I have a picture of that car when it was pink & it matches perfectly. & he broke the 6 second barrier at drag week a few months ago so im sure he changed the plate to reflet that

@Tony240Z I was not aware that was the case. I thought that they were new vehicles based on origonal parts, but i did a little research after I posted & I agree with you. Even though I think they look great they should not have cut up & drastically changed the origonal cars. Esspecially since they were rare to begin with. :(

Im positive that that "SIX SEC" Nova is the same one that has dominated Hot Rod's Drag Week for the past five years! Its had a number of paint jobs but its street Legal & this year it hit high 6s at the strip... while driving over 1200 miles during the week! I really hope you have a feature on it because it is one of the quickest street cars in the world!!!

Is the new Jensen AWD?? The origonal's were (the FF model, which was one of the first production awd cars) & I love how they stuck a viper motor into it as homage to the origonals which had the big 440 v8s. Even if its only rwd I love this car. I always thought Jensens were great looking cars & way ahead of their time!

@speedhunters_dino Mine too! But Ive always wondered why don't you guys do any diesel features on speedhunters?? 1000hp & 2000lbft & massive amounts of boost (anywhere from 50psi-150psi) is normal for the hardcore guys but they still drive the trucks on the street & use them like they were intended... Haul trailers all week & drag race on the weekends! They also use some pretty advance technology. Twin-chargering with a Super spooling the turbo is becoming really popular in the aftermarket & with good tuning some of these 8000lb trucks can run in tthe 12 second range right off the showroom floor!

@ClaytonPayton same here!! Is it awd? Because that would be very sweet! & a starting price of 10g's is a sweet deal on a brand new kit car! I can't get a WRX for anywhere near that where I live

@Chris a feature on NRE would be awesome!!! I subscribe to them a few years ago because of a 1200hp FC RX7 that they did some work on... that thing was STOOOPID Quick!! I wonder whatever happened to that mid engine 2100hp AWD Pontiac Tempst they built... THAT would be an awesome feature!

That 40 Ford Coupe is Sa-Weet!!! Its so cool that ford is remanufacturing the shells! Since you no longer need to spend a small fortune on the sheet metal just think of what you could put under the hood! Imagine how bad ass that would be with the running gear from a Super Snake or taking the awd drivetrain out of a Scooby & sticking it in there!

I am not a civic guy... I am not really even a JDM guy but I love this car! This car is pure Traditonal Hot Rodding... this is not a rat by any means! Hot Rodding in the beginning wasn't all about big engines & bonneville. It was guys & gals taking old unwanted cars & adding all kinds of different things to it to make it "cool" & make it their own ride. I love all of the little touches this guy added. Sure it may look "ratty" but it's really Sanitary! (Btw Sanitary is 50s slang for a really well built rod) I love all the effort that was put into this & definitly see the minitruck & hot rod influences here along with JDM style! Its cool to think how styles & taste have come full circle & their are builders out there that can blend very differnt styles so well! Kudos to the builder! This is one of the Koolest cars I've seen in awhile!

@Tony240Z I agree with you there, & I think the cowl is Fashion over Function rather then the other way around... unless its fiberglass there really isn't a benifit to a cowl that big. My belief is if it can't fit under the stock hood you might as well make a hole & show it off because everyone knows it's not stock anyway!
