@JoshuaTewell That is a completely different situation though. In that case, I really AM signing up because I NEED to speak to that specific person. I don't NEED to speak to a specific salesman. Really though, it all comes down to the customer experience. In Verizon, I felt like I was inconvieniencing them by being there. I felt like a statistic walking through the door to be tracked and documented. I didn't feel comfortable as a customer. I don't feel that way at ATT or Tmobile. I admit I work for Tmobile now so my views can be biased there, but even before I worked for them, they had a great customer experience. Although some of that I do think stems from just getting less customers. T-Mobile stores are genuinely appreciative of you as a customer....to Verizon, and ATT, you're just another number.
@Gamercore You can use import phones on T-Mobile. Granted ATT has better support for them at the moment, but T-Mobile should have it's spectrum refarmed in a year or so and then they will work perfectly. International phones, and stupid iPhones.
@MarcusArmstrong T-Mobile wants better phones, and they do tend to have at least one great one (Galaxy S 2). T-Mobile just doesn't have the money to throw around for the best phones, so ATT will generally yank them for an exclusive for awhile.
I left AT&T for T-Mobile about 6 months ago. As far as my experience has gone, i'm getting the same service, for much less money. T-Mobile may not have "true" 4G...but that doesn't really matter. LTE isn't really "better" than HSPA+. AT&T is a great carrier and would be a solid second choice for me, but I don't see any real advantages to going with AT&T other than marginally better coverage, which hasn't been an issue for me yet with T-Mobile anyway. Verizon is just too expensive for me, and I absolutely hate the atmosphere of their stores. I'm not "signing in" for the privelage to speak to someone, and then get charged out the wazoo for everything I do. Sprint I have never even considered as an option.

Fits with the attitude within the company right now. I'm glad to see T-Mo really biting down and throwing some money at advertising. We have everything else...but in customer's minds, it's 2004, and T-Mobile is a joke. Really need to let them know what we have a nationwide network that really is about as good as anyone else, with prices the Big Two can't (err, won't) beat.
