If the Google Play market is not wide-open, then it is not going to be as successful as the first one. The Nexus7 blows Kindle Fire away with everything. If you want to read your Kindle books, download the Kindle app on the Nexus7.
Don't agree with anything Apple wants. They have horrible business practices and they should pay for it in the long run. Don't let money be the issue here, stick to your principles.
I agree with JQuest81. Why would you get rid of the set top business and just create a bad ass Google TV Nexus version. I am not sure if everyone knows, but Apple was recently granted a patent on a cable set top box. I think Google needs to hold on to this part of the business to prevent Apple or at least make it extremely difficult for them to enter into the television arena. Google, you probably need to answer these questions before selling off something you made need later?
I ordered mine the second Google announced it at Google IO on the Google Play Store. I would say it has been the best technology purchase I have ever made in my life. I don't leave home without it. I do everything on it. I am just hoping somebody would make an attachable keyboard like the Asus Transformer Prime Infinity keyboard. Of course, with back-lit keys (unless Apple wants to sue for his technology - lol). I would love to just fold it up like a mini-computer without having to use a case with a mini-Bluetooth keyboard. My wife has an ipad around he house somewhere, but nobody seems to want to use the ipad anymore. I can't imagine why not. Android blows IOS away.
It doesn't matter what version of Android it will be supporting because it won't support Google Play (all Android Apps). Amazon only allows you to use the Android apps that are available in their app store. I have the first Kindle Fire and will be getting rid of it as soon as Google starts selling their 7" Nexus Tablet. I want bluetooth technology. I need Google Chrome browser. I like having widgets. I am a huge Google+ and Gmail user and need dedicated apps for these services. Also, I want to use Google Map or Earth on my tablet. Kindle Fire has none of these capabilities. If I wanted someone to tell me how and when I can use my mobile device, I would have bought an iPad. After all this, don't buy the Kindle Fire or Kindle Fire 2, unless Amazon has opened the device for all. Enjoy the Google IO 2012 and buy all-Google!!!
Make a Google+ sharing and I will use the damn app.
I think they will crash and burn, if they try to sway away from Android & Google. I for one like Samsung products, but I also like LG, Asus, Toshiba , ect... Samsung, don't make a huge company ending mistake. One person can lead a group to battle, but it takes the group to win the battle, so stick with Android Alliance.
Please stop this dumb ass idea and tell Samsung to support Google+!!!
Samsung, do not get into the proprietary business! Only go with standard attachments, don't start acting like Apple on this one. You will lose!!!
I am waiting for this to release before I decide on a Chromebook or just buy this tablet or the Asus Prime with the keyboard. I own a Kindle Fire and love it, but I need more Google services and Google apps on it and can't get them because Amazon decided to have their own ecosystem. I don't blame them at all. i just like everything Google with a little taste of everything else.
I want Google to some how combine Google Earth, Google Maps and Google Street View and create the most exciting navigation experience ever made for mobile, tablet and desktops.
