No mention of Del Zotto's giveaway that led to an awesome chance for the blue jackets that eventually led to boyle's goal? Also, no one can honestly say that Lundqvist is the same goalie he has been in the past. That wrist shot goal on his blocker side is a goal he NEVER gave up in the past. You actually see Girardi stop and to allow Henrik a complete and unobstructed view of the shot just like he always said he wanted in years past. I really think the equipment change has hurt him just as brodeur said it was going to in the preseason!

my favorite part of that clip may be when the announcer first says Mash's name as "ma-shitter"

@Say my Name I agree with this completely. If we could trade him for another goalie prospect and picks, I would be all for it. That said, if hank is not willing to hold out for an 8+ year contract, I would rather keep him.

@AnnoyingJoe cam should have caught that puck
Really excited in Cam Talbot. He may be the long-term future. I want to see him work on his rebounds and glove. I think those 2 things, which are certainly workable on a young kid, are the only things that may keep him from being mentioned in any conversation along with hank, richter and eddie
Sick goal by Callahan...but if ANY SINGLE PLAYER other than Ovechkin was defending the slot, Callahan never would have gotten through. Ovechkin has to be the laziest player on defense in the history of the sport.
If I was his coach, I would sit him on the end of the bench closest to our offensive zone during that period and place a checking line defender on the exact opposite side of the bench. When the puck leaves our zone, ovechkin changes with the checker. As soon as the puck heads out of the offensive zone, on the way back down, ovy hops back onto the bench.

MDZ has been absolutely useless. Trade him to a team in the west that hasn't caught on yet. His defense is horrible and his offense appears to be good until you notice that he doesn't ever score and he has just as many passes intercepted as connected.
Also, what the hell is up with lundqvist? Biron is terrible and is barely serviceable as a backup in the nhl, but lundqvist doesn't look ANYTHING like his former self. He doesn't appear confident or comfortable in the crease. Maybe Brodeur was on to something when he said the new equipment rules were gonna hurt Henrik.

The way Dubinsky fought on the boards and made the play on that goal makes me miss watching him. Wish he was still a blueshirt

did you guys see what happened to Peter Harrold on saturday. He took a deflection to the face, albeit not nearly as hard as the one staal took, and was wearing a shield. The shield broke but did not shatter. He got a nasty gash in the forehead but got stitched up and came back out. I wonder if a shield would have shattered and potentially blinded staal...

I like your lines but miller could play center and I would replace richards with miller on that second line. my lines would look like this:
I have been so dissappointed with so many rangers this season. I think boyle needs a confidence boost so I would put him on the power play and tell him to stand in front of the net and screen for 2 straight minutes. DO NOT MOVE. If you get pushed, you are 6'7" 250 pounds..don't move.
My Ideal PP...boyle stuck in front of the goalie, 2 guys on the point, other guys getting the puck to the point. Fire from the point, boyle to screen, other forwards crash for the loose puck. rinse and repeat.

I agree that you don't want to change the lineups in the middle of a winning streak but you do have to consider the kid's development. Stapling him to the bench is not good for his development and he's hot headed which could be even worse. No one is talking about the absence of Kreider the past 2 games. I say bench him before miller and give Boyler another shot. He is bubbling over with passion and you know he will come out like a bull when he's finally given a shot.
I think kreider's injury may still be lingering. Get Boyle back together with Cally and Steps and tell him point blank. You're the biggest guy on the ice 99% of the time, if you don't hit hard and knock some people on their ass, you're gonna be watching from the press box again.

@KevinDeLury I really don't understand what torts didn't like about him. Yes, he took some really dumb penalties but it was almost always in the course of trying to gain momentum. He was the best conditioned guy on the ice every shift and he skated fast and hard and threw a check every time he went up the ice. He laid down to block shots (prob would have gotten better at this just like the rest of the team has over the past 2 years) and got into the heads of the opponents' GOALIE! Can you think of any player who was not a sniper that had a psychological impact on the opposing goalie!? Thats invaluable yet for some reason, avery is persona non grata in the nhl.

There is no doubting that the Rangers played better against the devils when Avery was on the ice getting into marty's head. If we face the devils in the playoffs again I will be wishing that Avery was on the team again.
@KevinDeLury I agree but I think Halpern will be off this team soon. He was brought in to win faceoffs and can't do it, he's on the checking line but he hasnt been tough or energetic. That whole line needs a big makeover. Really dislike asham and Halpern
1 year, 10 months ago on Now that Arnott Signing Blewup, Who's Available?
I assume they want a center and langkow was 66th last year in face offs won with 440 for a 44% avg. Dominic Moore was right behind with 419FO W with a 55% avg. If we don't go with a center I really want them to work out Sturm because if he's healthy he will grind and hussle the boards for an easy 5 minutes a game.
