This is Philly fan low. Disappointing.

I think we can narrow the list by assuming they will be acquiring a righty since we'd be losing one of the few on the team

My initial thought was hartnell. That would be tough to see, and tougher not to root for girardi to pound him again every time he's on the ice.

I'm usually pretty optimistic, but I'm losing faith in this team. Idk who to blame; is it AV's system or is every player except zucc regressing? Dorsett, cally, boyle, d moore, girardi, McD, and staal used to take the body every chance they got; now they all look lile neutered dogs out there. The only person hitting anyone is kreider. And what does he get for it? Benched most third periods and overtime. This team has gon the way of the jets and mets. There is no direction and the gears don't mesh, no one is on the same page and it's very evident. Like I said earlier, I don't know whether it's the players, coach, or both, but something's gotta give, and sooner rather than later. Hopefully.

If zuccarello were 6'2 215 with his skill set he'd be in the conversation with some of the top guys the way he is playing right now. And he'd probably fight EVERYONE, fiesty little bastard he is.

I wouldn't say falk has been great. He's been good for what he's expected to do, which isn't anything Mcilrath can't do. He needs to be given time to familiarize himself with his teammates and he needs to play on a steady pairing. If he doesn't get any better after 5 games then send him down, bit we need to see what he's got.

The only thing more terrible is NHL tonight. They just interviewed pouliot and asked if he's getting used to the garden again after the billion dollar renovation. You'd think someone there would know this is his first year with the rangers...

8 months, 2 weeks ago on Rangers 4, Flames 3, SO

I don't see any reason not to play Mcilrath over falk, it's not like falk is a great defender anyway. At this point we need somebody on this team that can smile after getting pummeled. Assuming, of course, he got a few good shots in too.

That being said, I would ve surprised if he refused to sign a 4 year deal. He's a smart guy who wants to win in his home state.

8 months, 2 weeks ago on Callahan Has Had A Plethora of Injuries

Reply

The thing that makes it even harder to see is that they are all traumatic injuries. It's not a nagging hamstring, his shoulder was ripped out of the socket, blocked a 100+ mph slapshot, etc. He's just got really, really bad luck combined with ballsthe size of grapefruits, which is not good for llongevity.

8 months, 2 weeks ago on Staal Has Concussion; Dorsett, Asham In; Pyatt, Pouliot Out; Lundqvist Starts

Reply

If that's the 4th line he goes with, he's gotta give them big minutes in the first half of the first period. Hard forecheck, hit everything in sight, wear them down and set the tone for guys like cally, boyle, and kreider to follow suit. And don't forget asham has a pretty wicked wrister so I can see them getting a little scrappy offense from the garbage areas.

8 months, 2 weeks ago on Staal Has Concussion; Dorsett, Asham In; Pyatt, Pouliot Out; Lundqvist Starts

If they like the way Mcilrath is developing I don't think they'll make a move for anyone. Maybe a waiver claim on someone to hold as a healthy scratch but they definitely shouldn't trade anyone other than pyatt or pouliot for an enforcer.

8 months, 4 weeks ago on Dorsett Is Starting To Fill Prust Role

Everyone loves the backup. Until he becomes the startee. Then everyone loves the backup again. Look at the jets. How did McElroy work out? Same with Talbot. He's a great backup but there is a reason he's not a NHL starter . We're not watching practice every day, we're notexperts, we don do this for a living. If you think Talbot is the long term solution to winning a Stanley Cup, you're delusional.

I don't hate them. It looks like they tried to make a contemporary version of the winter classic jersey. I'll probably buy one once they're on clearance at modells honestly.

As a chef myself, I totally agree about the chopped points except for one minor detail, zakarian was abad example because he currently has a multimillion dollar class action lawsuit against t him for basically being the world's biggest douche to his employees. As far as zuccarello, I think a one e year deal is the best thing for him. Zmaybe next year he'll get offered a big contract somewhere a la prust, not that I want to see him go.

I love his interviews with francesa. I feel like he's more candid because he knows how knowledgeable mike is about sports and coaching in general, though not hockey, and he knows he's not going to get any stupid questions. In the press conferences there's always a few idiots and I'm sure he gets sick of some of the beatguys after sseeing them every day.

I think the NHL will handle this appropriately. I'd be surprised if this actually made it to court, and the NHL will probably start keeping a closer eye on pain meds for players. Also wouldn't be surprised to see a campaign to raise awareness for prescription drug addiction or a foundation for ex-players with addiction issues.

Danny G will be able to shut him down. Don't let ovi go around hitting anything that moves, and knock him onhis ass whenever possible. Plus we have arguably the best 1 on 1 and 2on 1 defenseman inthe league, who has made a living shutting him down, in marc staal, who I'm sure will be actively involved with girardi and mcd until he's ready to come back.
