I would have said Jessica a few weeks ago, but Phillip's cover of Volcano made me a fan. And his winner song last night is sure to be a hit. Jessica is a better vocalist, but P2 is more of an artist. With bands like Mumford and Son making it big recently, Phillip easily fits into that same genre that has become more mainstream lately. Maybe Jimmy and the producers were really pimping him by giving him that winners song last night (much catchier than J's). But, I think he will be the bigger star, regardless of who wins. Though, for the record, Jessica is an amazing powerhouse diva, and, if she can get good songs, she has huge potential as well.
Loved this.... Chris is a class act, I give him a lot of credit for that (unlike his coach, who is clearly not a class act, in a variety of ways). I was so glad to see these two great female artists come back and sing with him.
Interesting.... I wonder who the voting population is for this show? I must confess..... I don't vote:( I just like to follow and comment.... I know, lame. Jermaine is a nice guy who tries really hard..... it had started to feel a little rigged in his favor a while back....or he has a big fan base that doesn't follow this blog.
That is a shocker... I thought he had the best performances of the night last night... go figure.
I just watched this again... by far, the best performance of the night. I could see them recording this and releasing it as a single. I loved watching Chris coach Xtina on this one. He clearly has classical training that she, despite her amazing vocal ability, is lacking. They sounded great together on this song.
I have to admit I haven't been a big Chris Mann fan, but his performances tonight were quite amazing. I'm still supporting Tony because he's the only finalist whose music I would actually buy. Don't know if Xtina's disdain for him has been part of her strategy because she knows he could win... or if she really has a personal vandetta against him.... if it's the former, that's really lame.
I've been a Tony Lucca fan since Day 1.... though I was impressed by Chris tonight. They are really pushing Julia, so I think she will win. She's just not my cup of tea. So many of my other faves are already gone. ... I'm not feeling too attached to the outcome.

Wow, I give Chris a lot of credit... usually Christina overpowers her team members... but his voice can match and even overpower her voice on this song... great to see him doing what he does best.
I don't think any of these folks are very marketable, but, hey, a jessica/joshua r&b showdown would be kind of nice and fresh for a change.... I'm rooting for those two at this point (though Elise was definitely my fave :((((()
I think he has a big female fan base... women in my age range - late 30's, early 40's - think he's awesome. He's vocals are solid. He's mellow, easy going, a great family man. He had me with the blind audition of "Trouble", which was flawless, by the way. I think male and female fans of Ray Lamontagne like Tony too.
I can't even bear to watch Philip sing... he just screams and sounds awful, every year. I think they just like him around because he is not dull. Elise was by far the best of the top 12. Jessica has an amazing voice and perfect pitch, but, sadly, something about her is dull.
I think Tony will sell to a specific market.... the mellow singer/songwriter crowd, etc. (nothing wrong with that). He started with a great cover of a Ray LaMontagne song. Those of us who are RL fans know that is Tony's genre. I'll buy his music. He already has some music out, which is pretty good.

I wonder how much of the Xtina/Tony drama has been staged. Maybe it is all a farce, and Tony will win it all in the end....
AI isn't worth watching any more... with Elise gone, I have no interest. But, you're right, Skylar is the most marketable of who is left on there... pop country is much easier to get in to these days as compared to rock, pop, r&b, etc.
Damn! This is total Ca Ca!!! Lindsey was amazing last night. And her studio version rocks too, which I can say about many of the others. What a rip. I guess this show is going to end up like AI. Heavily produced (ie. rigged), with the ones that don't make it to the top being some of the most successful. I never download singles off of Itunes, but I can't stop listening to Skinny Love... going to download right now. Love Lindsey! She will make it anyway!
At this point, it's Lindsey all the way! Agree with Rickey... loved last night's performance... creative, interesting, quirky, unique... there are a lot of examples of current artist who are similarly unique in their voices and artistry who have become highly successful. Truly loved seeing her play guitar last night! Go Lindsey!!! (Still love Katrina and Tony too, but one of 'em is gonna go tonight.... sigh)
Can Christina PLEASE shut up about the mouskateers and lay off Tony for once????
