Demarcus Cousins and Eric Bledsoe disagree that "the Wildcats’ one-and-doners don’t even get the chance to build a hatred for the Cardinals." It's not on the level of the players, but the players hear "Beat UL" as soon as they get on campus.

@John at MrSEC You really think Louisville's RPI will remain at 80? As they continue to win and play some better competition in conference that will change significantly. As an aside the fact that the NCAA uses the most inaccurate rating system to select teams for its multi-billion dollar tournament is a little ridiculous.

Just curious why you didnt ask those questions to Pinkel? He didn't use his whole allotment of time

Since there is little to no basketball tradition in the SEC outside of Lexington, I think any of the SEC teams that think it could impact marketing should give it a try.

Great article, completely agree. Another pet peeve of mine is retweeting rumors but then saying "it wasn't me that said it, it was X." By retweeting that info (with the intent of garnering more attention on twitter) you are putting your name on whatever was said. What are your thoughts on this John?

@John at MrSEC @db20207 You do have the option of turning the station from Freebird, MMM-bop, or not clicking on Harlem Shake videos. It's really not that hard to avoid, I talked to 5 people yesterday at work that had no idea what the Harlem Shake was. I didn't call you old, I just said your actions were that of a "party pooper." I'm just saying it's probably not in your best interest to lecture college kids on what they should be doing for fun (as long as it's within the law).
Nice attempt at running off a fan of the site, not gonna work, though.

You realize when you tell other people to move on from the "Harlem Shake" it's the equivalent of saying "get off my lawn!" right?
With Kentucky now on the bubble, it seems like the SEC has only 2 teams for certain in the tournament. Ole Miss' win over Mizzou helped their case quite a bit

Not sure how much time you have spent in Gainesville, but any excuse is a good excuse to leave that place.

Good to see UK get on the board having a 4* DE commit without even visiting campus. Hopefully Stoops and his staff can have UK towards the middle of this graphic next year as opposed to the bottom

To be fair, the reason UT's athletic department has little to no emergency cash fund is because they are paying fired coaches and administrators, fan apathy has lead to a lack of ticket sales, and decided to fund a multimillion dollar practice facility. Sure the academic contribution is a big part of that, but it's not like it is an unexpected cost. Also, it's not like Tennessee is the only athletic department forced to contribute to the academic side of things. Contributing factor? Absolutely. Sole cause? No way.
As an aside is it really too much to ask that an athletic department bringing in hundreds of millions of dollars contribute to the academic side of things?

So instead of reading that quote and taking it as UK fans aren't nearly as unreasonable as they are painted, you read that quote and focus on the negative. Interesting. 2 sides of the same coin, I guess. And with the title of the article, yes you appear to be reading into his comments
"Don't believe Fulmer would take the job?" Are you serious? Fulmer lobbied HARD for interviews at the Louisville and Arkansas jobs the last 2 years. Truth is, no one wants Phat Phil at the SEC level and any whispers to the contrary are just his people trying to keep his name relevant.

This is one of the reasons I think Cal only has about 5 more years at UK. They guy is just constantly doing something. He's either recruiting, raising money for one of his many charities, coaching the team, going to Jay Z concerts with Irv Gotti, or speaking at the Clinton Global Initiative. I fear for the person that takes over after him, because no one else can keep up with the pace he sets.

1 year, 5 months ago on Oh, No He Didn't! Ex-UF Coach Meyer Says His OSU QB Is More Talented Than Tebow
@John at MrSEC I agree that UK football fans are better than other secondary sports, but the problem is football is not a secondary sport. I realize it's treated like that at UK by the administration and fans, but football is the cash cow for the athletic department. We need our fans to stop being "good compared to how we perform" and just be "good for the SEC." Joker really lost an oppurtunity as we were averaging 65k+ from 27007-2010 and really lost people with the bowl game. When South Carolina was down in the beginning of the Holtz era, their (much larger) stadium was more full than ours was in 2006 when we went 4-4 in the SEC (best in last 20 years!) There is some passion for football in Kentucky, but far too many fans are oblivious to the fact that we even have a football team and are worried about camping out for a basketball practice.
I'm not completing blaming the fans, but they get much more credit than they deserve in my opinion. It's time to start leveraging basketball boosters to contribute to football projects, or lose access. Our fans have to step up. Until we get facilities on par with the rest of the SEC, any level of fan interest isn't going to matter.
