@Mike Petriello @TROBOB No I was going with the cumulative and the coffin is just being pounded shut
Season over if we don't win the second game and I think you can kiss Mattingly good bye if so as well.
@splendid @IBBFTW Who plays second base against righthanders? Just get Cruz and his curse out of here. I have now dubbed him "First Pitch Popout" As long as we have this curse on the team we will not be successful.
Ramirez struck out against Grilli. No shame there right now. He would NOT have been facing Grilli in the sixth. Don has made totally lousy critical decisions all week.
@dodgerfan222 @Long-TailedWeasel
I want my best hitter with power hitting fourth and my best two OBP hitters otherwise hitting first and second. My second best power guy hits fifth and my third guy has to be pretty good. My sixth guy should have some decent power and running ability and then I go with the last two guys wherever they best seem to fit. AJ Ellis, despite his on base ability really fits that eighth spot well as he can extend innings and help keep the pitcher from leading off an inning.
@CrabPeople Who needs an avatar? I'm wearing a paper bag over my head. My wife probably wishes it was a cellophane wrapper right now.
Remember that he IS Mattingly's bench coach. He must take some responsibility. Nonetheless Don omes off looking like an in game managerial genius in comparison.
Is Trey Hillman the most monumentally stupid choice to manage a team or not? Three opportunities to use Schumaker in iuations that called for him and we didn't use him once. Twice with runners in scoring position and once that could possibly have kept the inning alive to get to the last hitter with a chance to hit the ball out of the park. Schumaker should have just started serving the suspension tonight for all the good it did him to appeal.
@FNC(FYCQ) @Jeith Brinz Can you eat brownies? Do they sell brownies? Can you bring them in a backpack? Are backpacks allowed now that you can put pressure cookers in them? What in the world is going on?
@Capnsparrow(Still loves Matt Kemp) @Mike Petriello If he is ready to play physically in A Ball, why wouldnt he be ready to play in MLB. The strain on the hamstring should not be any different.
@baeksu @TROBOB I understand. I am agreeing with you and saying that the rules are not applied as they should be. I think a lot of scorers are lazy. No pitcher should be rewarded for an ineffective outing. Pitchers who come into the game in the nninth with a four run lead or larger are not allowed to put themselves in a save situation. If you blow a two run lead or more, you should not he in position to be the wining pitcher.
@Capnsparrow(Still loves Matt Kemp) @baeksu @Jeith Brinz I have never heard 7 and 2. Ever since they have been keeping the stat it has been 6 and 3. Heck at Coors it should be 6 and 4.. There is nothing wrong with 6 and 3. The pitcher has kept his team in the game with that measure. In a three run scenario, you can conceivably win the game wth one swing of the bat.
@baeksu Wins are applied lazily. I thought there were rules in the game in which the scorer could objectively give the win to a pitcher who was more deserving than someone who pitched poorly and failed to do his job. I really think they should go to any starting pitcher who has a quality start and his team wins as long as he was in the lead when he left the game. That would make the stat itself much more meaningful.
Hopefully, we'll have a 15-2 lead in the ninth. A 14-2 lead is not safe in the House of Horrors.
I'm going over to Facebook. Maybe I can become more depressed by my sister's antics.
I just had to see what the score was. Why didn't I listen to that little voice in my head saying "Noooooooooo! Don't do it!?"
Well, I guess we won't have to worry about seeing League or Jansen tonight.
