Phandroid says "manipulating the normal Settings menu would most likely require an upgrade from OEMs and carriers. We know how long those upgrades tend to take, though, so we reckon Google found no other way around it than to stick another icon in your app drawer."
Smart move by Google to get something out there quicker. I'm fine with it
That's what it is, and that's what it does, and that's what it looks like!
Lolololololololololololololololololololololololol that judge is ripping Apple to shreds. Sounds like a mother with her 5 year old. "Apologize!" "I'm sorry, dumby.." "Apologize better!!!!!!!!"
I think that's bull, there is no excuse for releasing a phone (that isn't crap) which doesn't have LTE at this point in time. Heck, even Apple figured out how.
The back looks like a mouse pad with a wrist cushion
Referring to the engadget video: how on earth does he have that job, but still thinks you have to double click on an Android app to open it?
@DanDaniel I know hah
55.5% on Gingerbread??? Get with the times, people!
I've been considering getting the Nexus 7 for a few days now, and I think this put the nail in the coffin. I really just can't justify getting one. I already have JellyBean running on my phone, what more does a tablet offer other than a bigger screen and better processor/graphics? $200 dollars is nice, $99 would be even nicer, but still.. I want to love tablets, but right now they're just nothing more than big phones. At least Honeycomb was a step away from stock phone-Android. I just feel like I would buy it, set it up the exact same way as my phone, and play the exact same games. I know I'm rambling for no apparent reason, maybe someone can help me out here and explain what's so great about these?
Might wanna mention that this is for tablets only...
I too hope this theory ends up being true.. but come on. This is the kind of data a 12 year old takes. 8 store sample size? Do they even know if each Costco was sold out of AT&T GS3s before the verdict? And the AT&T store tidbit sounds like word of mouth. Let's wait for some real data.
Dear small Chinese knockoff company,
You copied us! Please make 1.05 billion dollar check out to Apple. Thanks.
I am an Android fanboy. This is pointlessly dumb.
Things that Apple have copied from other companies, regarding the iPhone alone (off the top of my head):Notification shadeVoice commandsGee, the dialer?Screen on/off buttonVolume rockerTouch screenHome buttonIt really is a shame that Apple is having this enormous power trip right now. I don't know if it's in fear of failing without Steve Jobs, or if they are just success thirsty mongrels with nothing better to do but sue their competitors for even more money. Either way, I'm glad this news is being shared with the public because Apple deserves to be publicly humiliated for their childish actions.
Too long; didn't waitCM9 ftw
@TomUK Exactly. I don't know where 'dfs' gets off sayin that's BS, you hit it home Tom. People were hoping for something better in every single spec category. And yes, hoping literally as soon as the GS2 came out. Just watch, people will begin wondering about GS4 within the week. And not only specs, but design. Remember the no-bezel design speculated? Remember all the nice looking renders that DIDN'T look like feature phones from 2005? dfs, Know your facts before you bother saying anything.
@Zach29 You've missed the point. This is people's reactions after like a full year of rumors and lies of a freaking super phone. It wasn't what people hoped for, but it's still a decent phone. That being said, it's still not even outdoing current phones such as the HTC One series, which is the other problem. This is simply another high end option, not anything above and beyond. Sure it will function fine. But that's just the beginning if you want to stand out and be a flagship device.
Really glad this phone sucks cuz I recently got an SII that I didn't want to be too terribly outdated. Also, good job with the ridiculous hype again bloggers. You were outrageously wrong once again.
It's Google's fault. It's the manufacturer's faults. It's the carrier's faults. Too many people are at fault, and unable to work together to fix these faults. That's what happens in a situation like this. It is unacceptable, but unavoidable.
30 extra dollars and you can get it brand new. I can't imagine many people would take a refurb for only 30 bucks cheaper.. Idk
