It's fucking terrifying.
Also: great article.
I like how you censored "bullsh-t". Why the fuck would you do that?
Is not understanding how this is better than an authenticator app.
@MammouthFactory "I'm as fast with a trackpad as with a mouse. I even played Borderlands with Apple's Magic Trackpad ^^"
Moe and Marley call bullshit.
@PatrickSF t.t My feelings, they is so hurted. I consider a "shitty client" to be one who pays what is typically offered on 99designs for the huge volume of work given. It's borderline slave (and often child) labor.
99designs serves one very, very useful purpose. It matches shitty clients with shitty designers. And as long as they're both occupied on 99designs, there's less likely a chance I'll run into either in my daily life.
Fair enough. I will readily admit that iTunes is the most feature-rich music software available. I'm sure Chromebook owners have a hard time getting out of bed in the morning knowing that all they have access to is a variety of services which offer an endless supply of free music that they get to listen to on their $300 laptop.
"I’m up to date on most new products and services, but even I had forgotten about Rdio until someone mentioned it to me."
I don't think you are. I think you are definitely not "up to date" at all.
Just off the top of my head there's Rdio, Turntable, Pandora (yea I know that's an obscure one), Slacker, and Grooveshark. I'm sure there's dozens more just a 5 minute search away.
You're really bad at the internet. How is this your job? How does a tech blogger forget about Rdio?
I hope you're using a Samsung phone/tablet. Otherwise this experiment is doomed from the start.
That graphic is amazing.
Letting the "masses" determine what is news worked when the "masses" were a few hundred thousand nerds. When Digg opened up their topics and subsequently expanded their userbase to non-nerds it became garbage.
"For our younger readers ... there’s an episode of 'Seinfeld' where the hapless George Costanza decides his life is going so horribly that he should start doing the opposite of every instinct."
Yep, that definitely makes me feel old.
Need a graphic showing how many of those 179 billion hours are being consumed at a volume of 2 or 3. Surely I'm not the only one who rides around with the radio serving as just faint background chatter? Am I?
"Designers and front-end developers get all the credit"? Tell that to Salary.com.
