@momwithahook Exactly! So many people do not talk about their experiences, and talking about my crochet projects enables me to talk about my daughter often, in a positive way.
@momwithahook I did not realize until recently just how different my healing process has been from most of those who have experienced a similar loss. And it is all because of crochet and being about to talk about my experience with something positive to share. I am part of an art show this month of healing from pregnancy loss and infertility through creativity, some really intense work. But I feel a little bit set apart because my crochet project(s) have allowed me to heal more than many.
Awesome!
Hey! You missed my garden! ;) http://rememberingrowan.blogspot.com/2009/04/griffins-crocheted-garden.html
Lots of great stuff. I especially like #10. I did a baby blanket for friends over 20 years ago from a pattern I found in a magazine when I was living in Mexico. I have always wanted to make another, but didn't have the pattern anymore. Mine was all pastelly and little for a baby. I've always liked the idea of different sized dots on a solid background... But of course now I'll just do it in intarsia... wait for it... ;)
Cool! Honored to make your list this week! :) I have found that teaching how to make the "Boobies" has been a great introduction to crocheting in the round for many of my students.
Oh! I wish I'd known you were doing this! Would have send you pics of my sister's wedding dress which was a simple white bridesmaid's dress until I removed the sleeves and replaced them with crocheted lace, as well as adding a trim along the seam of the empire waist dress. I also crocheted my wedding veil, with size 30 thread and a size 14 hook. ;) But haven't posted pics of either yet...
I totally scored at a rummage sale a few years ago with a huge bag of jeans strips already cut, stitched together, and rolled in balls, ready to be made into rugs, purses and hats (though the hats are a bit heavy)...
Wow! I need, and do not have ALL of those books. It's rare I see that many crochet books in a group and not 1 I already have. :)
Shared Armani & Donna Karen posts on ReCrochetions on FB. Tweeted 25 Books and Things I've Learned. Pinned 4 365 posts.
Will have to work on a blog post about your upcoming book. :)
And happy birthday too!
