The only reason the Victorino signing made sense to me was if they were going to trade Ellsbury. Now it looks like they won't, so we basically just gave up Ross for Victorino straight up. Victorino's an aging speed guy. Ross looked great when healthy...it makes no sense to me.

Good post.

I just finished watching game 6 of the 2007 ALCS. Therapy. That shot by Drew remains one of the weirder hero-moments in Sox history.

God bless you for putting this up. I missed it. (I was too depressed to watch and didn't realize they'd be on. Sue me.)

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Just put every camera on Jenny Dell for 4 hours.

Meanwhile the best play in baseball today was a leaping catch into the stands by Johnny Damon on a pitch thrown by Derek Lowe.....Both playing for the Cleveland Indians. I feel like I'm in friggin' the Twilight Zone.

We should start a petition for the NESN camera-men to just show Jenny Dell walking and talking all nine innings the rest of the year. It'd be infinitely more entertaining than the first half of this season.

I hate myself for being unable to stop watching. They're just going to be this way the rest of the god damned year. Battling to get over .500. Ugh. That's the only word to describe this year: Ugh

Also, new commenting system seems a-ok to me.

I watched in a sox-bar on the Lower East side of NY. Drunk dude from Medford started screaming, "I'M DONE. I'M FUCKING DONE," downed a drink and stumbled out.

He was such a big element to the rivalry, pre and post 2004, that with him gone, it feels like a huge part of the rivalry is gone. It's melancholic. The whole Sox-Yanks aura as we've come to know it is over. Or drastically different at least. Hated the player, liked the guy. Annoying as he was, he was spectacular and one of a kind. Speedy recovery.
