@Purple Drank @Dustin NoslerEvery remaining Cuban is screaming at his agent "only sign with the Dodgers!"
Aledmys Diaz signed for ... $8 million? Really, that's it? Wow.

@Dustin Nosler It depends on if the Dodgers think he's mentally tough enough to survive here. They won't risk his confidence being shredded, he's too big of an investment.
And the stats don't lie, Albuquerque is even more hitter-friendly than Las Vegas. We're another 1,000 feet higher in elevation. With more wind, especially early in the season.

@Dustin Nosler Billingsley didn't have the massive signing bonus attached to him the way Lee does. That is the biggest reason I don't see them sending him here.
Plus, Stripling's injury eases up the Chattanooga logjam of starting pitchers.

@Dustin Nosler You might not, but I'll bet the Dodgers have reservations.

@steelmohawk @Chris JacksonWithout question.

@Purple Drank @Vin_Skully@Chris JacksonBy all accounts Guerrero will be here, Arruebarrena will be at AA.

@Vin_Skully @Purple Drank @Chris JacksonI don't expect Chone to end up here if he fails to crack the roster, he'll opt out. But it seems like he and Turner are close to locks, just need to add em to the 40-man. That can be easily done since both Guerra and Butera will have to clear waivers to be demoted (the latter will, the former will probably be claimed or traded).

So if we're all to believe Gurnick about Dee and 2B, I guess this is looking like the Isotopes' likely 25-man roster for next month. All is subject to much change, but I'm bored today (HS basketball mania starts tomorrow) and don't have much to add on the big-league rotation. Argue away with those you disagree with below ...
C — Drew Butera, J.C. Boscan
1B — Clint Robinson, 2B — Alex Guerrero, SS — Miguel Rojas, 3B — Brendan Harris, UTIL — Jamie Romak, Ozzie Martinez
OF — Jeremy Hazelbaker, Joc Pederson, Chili Buss, Mike Baxter
SP — Matt Magill, Stephen Fife, Drew Carpenter, Henry Sosa, Red Patterson
RP — Yimi Garcia, Jose Dominguez, Hector Nelo, Sam Demel, Fu-Te Ni, Daniel Moskos, Steve Smith, Chris Withrow

@Lobo @Chris JacksonYou can have him next year. He's ours this year.

Can't wait to see how far Joc is gonna hit 'em here in Albuquerque. If the wind's blowing out to RF, he might clear the back fence of the ballpark.
@Tommy D @Keita Mikami@Chris Jackson@DBrimFive months at Triple-A, if we're going for accuracy here.

@Keita Mikami @Chris Jackson@DBrimSame here, but the problem is that window where you get that much usually only lasts about 4-5 years, at most. There are only so many Mike Hessmans out there. Most guys get the journeyman role for only a short period, then either their skills start to erode with age/injuries, or they just have an off year and it pretty much ends the interest of teams. See Barden, Brian, if you need an example.

@Keita Mikami @Chris JacksonYou could argue that it would. It depends how the Dodgers view his mental toughness. Because you have to be mentally tough. Sometimes they just won't risk it, sometimes they will. It will be up to Ned, De Jon, et al, to make the final decision.
@Keita Mikami @Chris Jackson@DBrimSome veterans do. They can make anywhere from $50,000 to $75,000 for the five months they are playing. Some teams are starting to raise the price, too, to encourage vets to stay put. I've heard some teams are offering up to $100,000 for the season now. But most vets would still jump at the chance to go to Japan or Korea and make $300,000 and up. Only guys who never get that shot are typically middle infielders and catchers.
@Disgruntled Goat @Chris JacksonI do agree with Dustin on the part that Lee won't be shuttled back and forth. They have Fife and Magill for that.
@Keita Mikami @Chris JacksonMagill's signing bonus was tiny. Lee is already a $5.25 million investment. You might be willing to expose a guy signed cheaply to the ABQ experience. Not so sure about the guy with the biggest signing bonus in franchise history.
@Keita Mikami @DBrimIt's about as fun as you'd imagine. The Dodgers are good, at least, at finding guys who handle the journeyman life well. Just about all the vets I've interviewed with the Topes the last four years have been good interviews. It's often the younger players who are starting to realize that is their fate who tend to be more prickly.
I love when I get name-dropped in a story.
But let's take a poll, who really thinks Lee will end up with the Topes? I know VND was quite vocal many moons ago that he'll never pitch here.
