I missed so many obvious ones. Damn
@EephusBlue @SpaceOptimusDamus (optimistic math cat) 13th most dangerous city in America. You'd have to bust out the military to fix that.
@Moon Warrior (VND) that's because you work there.
@Moon Warrior (VND) Cedar-Sinai and UCLA?
@EephusBlue yes?
@DBrim @Purple Drank @Satchel (slaps both on butt) good game, guys
@LA_Woman @Weston Taylor @Long-TailedWeasel I read it. And I don't care about an interim manager. This is a lost season.
@Purple Drank @Weston Taylor @LA_Woman @Long-TailedWeasel ...and that's the whole point. An average manager wouldn't be making the mistakes that Don does every single series.
@LA_Woman @Long-TailedWeasel So what's the difference with firing him now and firing him over the offseason? If he's fired over the offseason, players could come back next season, the team could kill it, and we still wouldn't know. So it really doesn't matter.
@WBBsAs (Impatient To Throw Donnie Under Bus) @Long-TailedWeasel @Weston Taylor it's never about what you know, it's who you know.
The two reasons this team hasn't been winning is because of the offense and the bullpen. The bullpen can't really be Donny's fault if everyone sucks, so let's throw that one out. Yes, the offense has been injured. No, we wouldn't be in playoff contention even if Donny would have made all the "correct moves". But yes, had he made all the right moves, we might have won half the games that he botched.
A manager's job is to manage the game correctly with substitutions and strategies by plate appearances. Not only has Don not stopped the bunting this season, he's tried it with guys WHO SHOULD NEVER BE ASKED TO BUNT. He's also failed to use the correct hitters on the bench in the correct PH situations, potentially costing us runs. But, to exacerbate the problem, after the player that he failed to pinch hit for gets out in a critical situation, he then substitutes the player that should have been at the plate for the player that just struck out IN THE FIELD!
He apparently favors a double-switch instead of a pinch-hit. Player management be damned, he needs to go. This isn't about a "blind hatred" of Don, this is about someone who recognizes crucial points in a baseball game and manages them correctly. We've been calling for the termination of Mattingly since last season, but everyone always points to injuries. In my opinion, Matt Kemp's 2011 negated all of Don's rookie manager blunders, and apparently gave him some slack for what seems to be two seasons.
Final point: I understand the "Don isn't better than anyone else" argument. But on the other hand, if we don't have someone else in here, how the hell do we definitively know for sure?
@DBrim @Weston Taylor @LA_Woman ...okay? We still weren't hitting.
@LA_Woman Weren't the Dodgers relatively healthy for the first month, minus Hanley and Greinke? Because we didn't win then, either.
@Purple Drank @Weston Taylor are you high while managing?
I have about 4 years experience of managing a slow-pitch softball team. Therefore, I can manage the Dodgers better than Don.
@Purple Drank @Weston Taylor @Dodgers' 7th Ring that's because your computer isn't cool enough.
@Mike Petriello @Weston Taylor PS when you're the GM, I call manager. Or assistant to GM. Shotgun!
@Dodgers' 7th Ring @Weston Taylor We say it all the time about Joe Maddon.
