I love Sherlock and look forward to its return, yet I can accept that Cumbatch's portrayal of Khan, while very slightly similar, is a completely different character. Sherlock and Moriarty have more in common than Sherlock and Khan.
Sherlock is not a high functioning sociopath, but Moriarty is. That is just how Sherlock sees and describes himself, because he doesn't feel and react as others do. A sociopath would never risk his life for another person, nor care what happens to them. That is the nature of true sociopathy. And I speak as someone who has had the displeasure of knowing not one but two real sociopaths.
I think the biggest problem we face as BW is apathy regarding our lives and safety. Especially if the abuser, murdered or rapist is a BM. Because Black people in general (or at least those who bother to comment on such issues) appear not to care and even seek to protect the predators, most non-Blacks feels that they have no reason to care either.
@dani-BBW He's becoming a drunk. He needs to be honest with himself and forgive the people in his life before its too late.
@Bren82 @DarlingNikki69 Yes. Verna told him. He knows about all of them.
@ForeverSerenity Yes, Verna is a coward. She got Huck brutally tortured, and she said that she wished she'd let Quinn got to prison and likely get executed for something she didn't do. I'm still holding that against her. If Olivia hadn't figured it out Verna never would have called David Rosen nor confessed to Fitz. I think she wanted to beat Olivia to the punch.
@oekmama Good points. Hopefully, he will become more understanding after spending some time away from Olivia and missing her. And then she'll find out that he killed Verna and change her mind about him (hope not though).
"But you know, once you start confessing, you just sometimes can't stop..." LOL.
I still can't get over Fitz not only killing Verna, but rejecting Olivia. He is not who he seemed to be. And yeah, Verna should never have mentioned Fitz's father. He hated the man. Verna's not a very good judge of character.
@femmegirl2379 You'd think so, based on the faux pearl clutching going on, but no. Adultery will not get you the electric chair or the needle, even in the US. The people up in arms about the affair are just pissed off that it's a Black woman and a White man, and that he truly loves her and is willing to risk everything to be with her. You see, American Black women are suppose to believe that we are worthless and that no one wants us for anything except sex. That's why these "critics" are suddenly so concerned about the image of BW and the sanctity of marriage. Most of the people b*tching about the OLITZ affair are usually indifferent to both the well-being of BW and the institution of marriage.
@DeepWater No, not Annie Parisse (now on The Following), who played Reese's former CIA partner who strapped a bomb to him. Paige Turco's character (can't remember the character's name) was a fixer Reese had to save while pretending to be her chauffer in the first season who occasionally comes back to help them.
There was an episode where Reese had to go out on a date with a woman and she pops up in that episode, and at the end the woman he was "dating" / protecting said that he seemed to still be hung up on Paige Turco's character.
@The Working Home Keeper @keimiasmoon @JannaAshley So, a BM blamed a BW for his choice of actions? That is so unusual. LOL.
@dani-BBW If it's Mellie, Fitz would have an ironclad reason to divorce her. Which is probably why it isn't her. Or if it is, they can't prove it.
@DeepWater @ieishah I doubt it. They're pushing that fixer woman, played by Paige Turco, as his love interest. And it's CBS.
@Escapedthefoolishness@dani-BBW
WOW! So, he told her to her face that he doesn't like her because she's Black (like him), and he only wants her for sex, but she still wants to be with him because he happens to be Black?!?! HAHAHAHAHA. You're right. She doesn't deserve pity. She is choosing to be the sexual toilet of a man who has so little respect for her that he actually told her TO HER FACE that he'll never give a damn about her because (like him) she has two Black parents! SMH.
For all the NBABM BW's talk about BW who date / marry non-BM being “full of self-hate”, they are the ones (the only ones) who are willfully denying themselves the opportunity to feel and be loved.
@ieishah No not just you. I was thinking that during tonight's episode. And my husband actually said, "WHY DOESN'T HE KISS HER?!.... Stupid writers!" It was during that scene when he told her and Fusco to leave because he was going to explode soon. LOL. We love our shows.
@HumanistExec @Lili2009 I wonder if Star said anything to Kerry about dumping her White CEO bf and waiting for a "good brotha"? LOL.
@HumanistExec I tried thehumanistex.com and the server could not be found.
@dani-BBW From what I can tell, many NBABM BW who are in relationships with American BM are there because he is Black and therefore acceptable to their racist / fearful circle of family and friends. I rarely meet NBABM BW who chose to be with the BM they're with out of love and respect. In fact, the most common explanation they give for why they date/ shack up with BM is pity. "It's so hard to be a BM", "we have to stand by BM because no one else will". I don't think that I have ever known a woman who said those things to me who even LIKED her BF / husband. Most have nothing good to say about these men they have chosen, which is crazy... to me anyway. I know one woman who treats her fiance (of five years) like a home improvement project. There's nothing about the guy that appeals to her, but if she can just get him fixed up they can live happily ever after. LOL.
On the flip side, most of the BW I know who are open to ANY good man are either married or seriously dating great guys. And most of those who are married, have married to genuinely "good" BM and have great relationships. This leads me to the conclusion that the NBABM BW are so obsessed with complexion that they don't vet the BM that they encounter, and that is why they usually end up with who they end up with. Look at Star Jones, who married a BM who was rumored to be gay. I don't know if it's true or not, but would not be surprised if it were. This is a woman who thinks a fictional character should marry a man she does not love or trust, simply because he is Black. That speaks volumes about how her mind works.
If this latest reveal isn't just a red herring, I am back to my Mellie theory. No one else would have as good a motive.
