@Capttrips Glad you enjoy the reviews! My main problem with this cigar was the construction. The flavors were good, but any amount of rest wouldn't fix construction issues on this cigar. As I said in the bottom line - hopefully 2014's release fixes those issues!
@Capttrips In all honesty I can't remember how it compares. I smoked a few different sizes of the Serie D when they were released last year but I couldn't tell you how similar they are since it's been so long.
I'll work on getting a couple Serie D sizes and let you know how I think it stacks up :)
@FerdinandPiet Have you checked your spam? I know during testing we had some issues with the confirmation emails but I thought they had all been resolved. If it's not in your spam I'll have Charlie look into it
@FerdinandPiet After you registered did you click the activation link in your email? What's your forum username?
@andrewh79 First places they'll be available are at RoMa Craft events beginning in May, so keep an eye out for any in your area :)
@AdamSheehan Which threads are you talking about? Some of them are locked after we were done with testing but others may appear locked if you haven't posted in the introductions sub-forum yet - have to post there before you can post anywhere else :)
@JamesHale @Charlie Minato @aaronloomis I see that too in IE9 though the symbols work correctly in Chrome. It appears to me that it might be a javascript error in IE, I'll have to look into it some more when I get a chance.
@BigBoy_Sonoma I think the first two paragraphs of this article really say it all. Yes, many of these are obscure and virtually unobtainable cigars that you'll never smoke, hell the entire halfwheel staff didn't even get to smoke all of these simply because of their rarity. However that is the idea behind halfwheel - "We review rare, hard-to-find, limited edition, prerelease, preproduction or otherwise unavailable cigars."
As far as what it is lacking, again as stated above it is only a list from what we've reviewed, not all cigars released in 2012. Because of our guidelines we actually weren't able to review a single Padron this year. Fuente cigars show up on the list twice. Yes, there are six Tatuaje and four DE cigars on the list - but doesn't that just speak to the fact that they a) released a lot of new cigars this year and b) released solid, consistently good products?
Just my two cents :)
@JamesHale CAO's press release stated it was designed after classic Marshall amps. It's definitely not dead on, the knobs are more VOX but the rest is much more Marshall - speaker mesh and the "Concert" cursive is closer to Marshall. I'm guessing they didn't want to make it dead on for legal reasons :)
@Patrick Lagreid @Brutus2600 Don't mind us, just having a conversation on Twitter that crossed over #Professional #IKnowHowToInternet
I did enjoy the review though - looks like something I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a few of. Going to have to see if any local B&M's have any
@imcubanpete I agree, the presentation and look of the cigar was pretty impressive. If you don't mind just putting the cigar down with a full third of it left then these are definitely an enjoyable cigar.
@Capttrips Good to know I'm not taking crazy pills and other people taste it too! I'm sorry you had the same experience with the final third - let me know how they're smoking a little way down the road :)
@ChrisBottom I believe Charlie is working on that today :)
@Austin D I'm surprised you found a box! Congrats - they're a good cigar :)
@josefortesramos Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to try the previous versions. I must say I'm a fan of the Mexican San Andres wrapper and it worked well with this blend.
@JKilburn It does look fairly orange in the pictures but it's a little more coppery in person - still it looks very striking against the wrapper
Very cool - can't wait to try the new size, it's one of my favorites.
