I don't see what all the fuss is about, Puig was just tossing the bat to his BP caddy off screen
So let me see if I understand this correctly..if this was the real world, Harang would be mediocre at his job but work late hours and get paid millions while doing it...his company no longer needs him, so they ship him off to a competitor in return for a subpar employee and eat both men's salaries...the competitor doesn't want him on their staff, so they fire him and now he's left to go find a new job with a new company to potentially get paid millions or at least hundreds of thousands of dollars by them now too. Dang, wish I lived in that psycho fantasy world.
@da purple drank @wilhud Yeah, like Mike said...Punto is on a bench with 4 other Puntos.
We may not be able to take anything definitive from 3 games, but those games have definitely solidified what was already feared, one of which is this "The bench is an oddly-constructed mess." That one line sums it up pretty well. Come to think of it, that's the way Colletti's bench has been designed almost ever year. Also, I know injuries are a big part of it, but it's kinda sad when in the first 3 games of the season, the team is STARTING games with bench level players: Cruz (3 times), Sellers (twice), Uribe, Hairston & Schumaker. That's a lot of bench starting games, two thirds of which Crawford did play in. You'd think with the size payroll they've got, they would've constructed a better roster or at least a better bench. Especially if it was known they'd be sitting M. Ellis and Crawford regularly and being without a true SS. Also, Crawford could turn out to be the answer in the leadoff role, but that was a huge risk going into the season with no solid plan or at least a backup plan for leadoff. I'm not so sure we'll see a well put together 25-man roster until Ned Colletti is finally gone...McCourt wasn't the only problem in my opinion. I am liking the way the pitching staff is shaping up so far and it's nice to see a bullpen without an overload of veteran re-treads for sure. As far as hitting goes, the team did just face Cain, Bumgarner and Lincecum...that's a pretty damn good 1-2-3, gotta give credit where credit is due.
Ellis SLAM!!!
MLB TV says free preview and then it says "This Game will begin shortly"...guess that's what free gets ya.
Clay K, The 200 Million Dollar Man! Sweet!! If you're gonna lockup anybody, it may as well be your young stud pitcher in his prime years. So glad it's finally happening.
@Lobo @Mike Petriello No it's Peter's DeLuise's brother, not Sean Penn's
I think Mattingly had a brain cramp earlier. Check out this quote from Dylan Hernandez...
"Mattingly views the loss of Ramirez primarily as a defensive one and doesn’t think the Dodgers should make up for it by adding offense."
What?? No I don't think Puig should be starting the season with the team, but I also wouldn't exactly call the loss of Hanley a "defensive" loss. Unless that means Dee is getting a shot at SS.
According to GameDay 9 of the last 9 Dodgers hitters have swung at the first pitch and all of them were outs except Ethier's triple and Uribe's single.
Hairston's getting a workout in that LF corner today. Just glad to see Kershaw healthy on the mound and Belisario actually on the radar, starting ST with the team.
Loved the article about Ryu's talks with Koufax. Especially this part...
"That was a side session, and I want to know how he utilized the curveball in a game," Ryu said through interpreter Charlie Lee. "I asked questions and he told me about where to put pressure on my thumb when I release the ball. I want to learn situation by situation, when to use it and where to throw it."
Dude is smart to take full advantage of having Koufax working with him. Hope he does great as a Dodger.
Rooting for Hanley to do well in the leadoff spot.
Personally, I think LA is gaining back some of the respect that has been lacking over recent years. Guys are probably willing to take the risk because of the caliber of team they would have a chance to play with if they are able to step up their game and make the roster. Not to mention guys like Capuano who would be willing to pitch out of the pen just for the chance to play for a winner. Ownership still has work to do to get the team back to a level of respect that never should have been in question, but things seem to be moving in a positive direction on all fronts.
I thought my friend was joking when she asked me if I had ever had PB&J and Doritos...inside the sandwich. It's a real thing I guess. I told her no and so she had me go get Smuckers strawberry jelly, white bread, Skippy and Cool Ranch Doritos. I expected it to be horrible, but surprisingly it didn't taste too bad. Although I like all those things separately so combining them probably isn't much different. Although I can't say I would have ever tried it myself, if it wasn't a hot girl telling me to do it.
Can we just start the season now? I don't wanna wait, lol
Here's hoping the adjustment the Dodgers made last for at least 3 years. Ned Colletti is a freakin' moron by the way.
RE: the Dave Hansen post, I remember some of those hideous lineup cards and thinking, man...I wish Hansen and Mattingly could just bat themselves, rather than run some of these guys out there.
Machado's got a gun, damn
