haven't met any sales person handling calls through an app. Hopefully they're not trying to change that behavior
Nah, are you kidding. Did you wanted APPL to continue to grow 50%+ a year like it did until the $700? That's either irrational behavior or you're trusting that Elon Musk is really going to colonize other planets very soon
'The answer is, nothing.'
The answer may actually be a lot. Broadband penetration and many other development indicators drive more things than we imagine. Gun violence may be less direct, but i'm pretty sure there's an impact. Economically but also on values?
Correct me if I'm wrong but 1,000 out of 4,000 = a 25% fail rate before A-series. Angel and seed investors always 'claim' how they take all the risk. Assuming that A rounds go for 4x bigger valuations than seed rounds did, this means that 75% of deals more than outpace those 25%. It's still a good business to be angel/seed-investor, looking at this stats.
Would be interesting to know of that 25% fail rate changed during the last years. Seed valuations and #of seed investments went up, but did the fail rates? that would clearly highlight the difference. Probably that difference also reflects the more willingness to fund crappy businesses earlier on since more investments was likely to drive it.
Does this line of thought make sense?
Wrong perspective IMHO.
Ad tech is trying to find the needle in the haystack. Removing cookies means the industry can't find the needles. Why not focus on litting fire to the smelly, moldy hay instead? The web is full of crap ads (and sites). If they didn't exist, better sites would amass more revenue form overall available advertiser budget.
Hi do people call VC's to associates? Are they really VC's? Is a office assistance in a VC firm a VC? Or a data research intern?
Maybe it's time for VC's to include this behaviour in their code of honnor
'' Just get another seed, you probably already diluted your company too much anyway ''

Sarah's last paragraphs are usually nailing it all
6 weeks / $10,000 ? Was that a TV commercial?
@Heidiesq my opinion: the kind of startups that join a site like Angel List are more educated than others. They read Brad Feld.. I see your point but i don't think that the minuses will be significant when compared to the benefits
Good move nivi and naval. I specially like the "small", smart touch: "Liquidation preference [1x] cannot be customized".
"Isn’t the CEO paid $100 million to do the hard things that need to be done?"
Not on my company
Good run for the pandoList though. Kudos
@hamishmckenzie "How influential people use social media in newsworthy ways very much is." can be used BOTH WAYS:
- Why idiots don't have room to say SHT because the internet WILL REACT
- Why is a chinese public figure using the internet and his influence to hit on an american public figure, aka "the idiot"
You chose one
@hamishmckenzie should you be convering it Hamish?
How far can a public figure accuse falsely someone innocent with rumors? The internet is an platform of openness and people will react to it when them deem it unfair, regardless of this being a international, china vs us issue or not.
So, instead of covering the fact that a public figure is bashing on another public figure by posting his PUBLIC details, why not focus on the wrongful accusations against an innocent person (assuming that rules exist and doping is controlled by the competent authorities and that makes her innocent until concrete proof is made)?
It's even a better story since an innocent person is being accused. Unless China Vs US sells better. That's where I'd thing were one-sided on this one.
I love Angelist, don't get me wrong, but let's imagine that you don't have suck cool investors like most wont. Comparing this to those who don't is the de facto way of testing angelist and the power of crowdfunding. Using only outliers as an example isn't enough, imho
This is what pando daily is all about. Great post. VC's should not only talk about "how entrepreneur must have an insane passion" but also have it as well.
to move away from possible law suits, putting the responsibility over NASFAQ?
