@KD4theWin @ I’m out man. Y’all n***** trippin’ is Gortat actually good at defense?
@TempBoy Brandon I don't know steven Adams too well, but I think Liggens can definitely be part of the bench as well. Especially with everyone goign more small ball, all he needs is to shoot 3's well and he'll ecome a pretty good 3 and d player.
@Crow I actually think he can still be a very positive effect to the team. However, I don't see that effect coming from playing more. Rather, I see it by teaching the younger big men how to set picks and how to read offenses.
@Watson @Amnesty Perkins I think lin's 3rd year is just a good trade chip.
@Dicharden @OBoy errr it is because by most measures we are better than last year's team.
@GREENE1148 @ThunderWins if you look at when they lost in the playoffs, you see that there are two issues. Defensive adjustments take a long time (like switching perkins onto randolph and ibaka onto gasol). Offensive wise, we only have small plays that involve a kd/westbrook pnr or screen with maybe 2 options. That's why you see in the end of most possessions KD just posting up or KD on top of the flor just trying to create something. It's very dependent on KD/Westbrook being amazing and not that people do their job. It might also be why people might tune out or not contribute as much because they are designed for our best players to shoot.
@Lost Ones @Bry Bry haha. to be honest though, no one person could guard durant. it was a group effort that had 2 or 3 get to him.
@Lasch @PerkPush-ups as long as he learns how to shoot 3's at a higher percentage consistently.
@Militoni21 though this is a few years ago: http://newsok.com/oklahoma-city-thunder-wheres-the-d/article/3533037
@Amnesty Perkins @abizn well we do have thabo, who even in the last game had many deflections. Ibaka has continued to get better, though I wouldn't call him on the top tier elite defensive players. Reggie and liggens potentially can be good defenders too, hopefully liggens can become a thabo like player (3 and defense).
@Fuzzy Logic agreed.
1) Conley could be a near top 5 pg though. I see westbrook, irving, parker definitely ahead of him but the rest (due to injuries or only showing up on one side of the field) are more of a wash
2) Martin definitely needs to be more involved. He used to carry an offense in Houston even with iso plays down the stretch, so I don't see why brooks had less trust in him then fisher.
3) I've been talking about the fatigue that Durant has for the longest time, but people here shot me down too.
I think, in the end, what we need is a defensive system and offensive systems. If you look at Thibs defense, they are able to hide traditionally bad defense (boozer, nate rob, marco b. etc) within the system (+2 mobile bigs). Our offense relied too much on westbrook and durant. I believe that even Royce wrote once about the 'pet plays' that Brooks has that relies greatly on the talent on westbrook and durant. This probably aided in their development as players, but currently we are trying to win playoff games not develop players anymore. That means to develop other plays and/or more options so we don't rely on the amazingness of westbrook and durant all the time, but also on what each person specializes in. For example, collison pick and rolls, thabo 3's, reggie's ability to get in the paint, corey brewer's cutting (based on his time with Utah), etc.
@PerkPush-ups @Amnesty Perkins @GeezerSpeak Amnesty is not the right answer, I would agree with that. I think that it should basically be a combination of making Perk be our 4th big off the bench and better plays set up by brooks.
@Amnesty Perkins @PerkPush-ups If we had one that could catch an lob pass and dunk it, it would change the offense a lot.
@FF_pickups @Amnesty Perkins @PerkPush-ups Kmart was actually pretty active the last two games. We played fisher over him and also we have no plays that have more than 2 options.
@okcjim @KD4theWin if we had teh same coach?
he should've drove
WHY PERKINS
