yeah but when he came back in the 2nd quarter and we were losing by 5 after our bench just pooped themselves...that's a good time to get up in your man. Does he get tired tho? RW = not human

Idk if Russ is saving his energy early in games but it's too late to start playing defense in the 4th when we're down 10. Why doesn't he do TeamUSA every night? It would help his offense, too. Also Perkins should never set p&r screens b/c he is not a pop option, Perk should do downscreens only to free up both Kevins.
I just love the Thunder organization. So smart yet so noble. We will never EVER be the Yankees or the Lakers and when it's all said and done, people will look back on this franchise and say wow, now that's how you do it. Great culture, great philosophy, I'm proud to be a fan. Just please don't disappoint me on the new uniforms.
2 years, 4 months ago on Chin Up: Moving on from James Harden
Harden's year was highly inflated due to Maynor's injury. With a healthy Maynor, Harden just doesn't get the same amount of touches. I mean, I'm glad Harden stepped up last year given the circumstances cause we needed him to and hell yeah, James does a ton of things well and we are much much better with him on our team, but we just don't need him anymore nearly as much as we want him.
2 years, 4 months ago on Deal the Beard: What just happened?
@OkcBaby I think everyone forgot how good Maynor is. I really hope we keep him now
2 years, 4 months ago on Thunder trade James Harden to Houston
@Daniel Hawaii yeah, just couldn't do it. jeremy lamb fits in sooo well I'm not worried about chemistry with him and I loved his demeanor in college. but kmart, we'll see. I like the trade, but I mean we coulda got a big man. shoots
then he shouldn't be closing a game if Kd and russ are also present
@PNT @iballsohawaii yeah of course but explain to me why he couldn't start if he's good enough to close. and why brooks decides to play better defense at the beginning of the game with thabo then at the end of the game with james when defense is more important at the end of the game. to facilitate the ball? enter Eric Maynor, game 2.
@Labeasy Maynor's a big part of that
@Matt Barnes 4 MVP I don't disagree with that and yeah he finished games sometimes but Maynor's loss was a huge part of that second unit
haha I feel like I have no credibility on this site but whatever, show me some love. I love Harden, God I do, but let's all agree that all he ever did was come off the bench. And sure, this past year he was THE best at that. But he just could not start for us and it's not like we haven't tried before or had opportunities this year with thabo getting hurt. You can blame the short season or Kevin and Russ (what jerks, right?) but there's really no excuse for not being able to be an effective starter if you have as much talent as he obviously does. I love James but cmon man
wow it's so busy in here. but anyway, on the assumption that Harden turned down as much money as he did, I LOVE THIS TRADE. Believe me, I love Harden as much as you do. No really I do. Love everything about him, I mean the dude’s made his beard famous. But if he doesn’t want to stay, that’s too bad. And we could’ve done a hell of a lot worse. Presti is soooo smart. Bye guaranteed money in Lazar, (I’m sorry to admit) Cole Bustrich, and meh Daequan. Hello harden replacement K.Mart and PERFECT thunder guy in Jeremy Lamb. Maynor (who now gets to be re-signed) goes back to running the second unit, which is amazing, might I add. Generously looks something like Maynor, Martin, Jones III, Collison, Orton (who we’ll probably sign now). Then we throw Reggie and our new specialist Liggins in there plus a decent amount of draft picks for the future and all of a sudden I’m thinking James who? Don’t worry, fellow loyal lurkers of DT. Everything’s gonna be alright.
Just a silly thought about Harden sitting out this game: Brooks should give Harden the opportunity in one of the final preseason games, when he's resting Kev and Russ, to be the #1 guy (like he would be for another team). Let him try to work, let him struggle, hopefully it convinces him that being the third wheel on a Lamborghini is a pretty damn good spot.

Close out on perimiter shooting, stop cp3's penetration, and limit Blake; it's not hard to stop these guys. Thabo needs to jump passing lanes and Serge needs to control the paint. Btw, we all know that Ibaka should have won the dunk contest over Mr. Kia spokesperson...Ibaka NEEDS to throw it down on that dude, just saying.

@thejfc @ThunderChick2010 Harden is 22, takes such efficient shots for his lack of experience, runs point better than the 2, can hit 3s, handles the ball well, has great court vision, solid free throw shooter, great finisher at the rim. Plus he's left handed (this might be why he's so successful). And he has iconic style. I likey

I kinda hope wade plays so Perk can kick some face tonight

With some coaching he could become a decent offensive big, he'd take pressure off the 2nd unit with "high percentage" shots in close. I don't like when old Nazr comes in, he just doesn't bring the fire like ivey or collision. Bench players are under such pressure to perform with their scarce minutes and from what I've seen this year, Cole at least tries to affect the game when he's out there. A block here a rebound there, but like collision, what stands out is his effort. If he polishes his game, he could be a valuable asset going forward
2 years, 11 months ago on A bigger role for Cole
@Skyline haha. I don't mind him. He let the team grow into itself

Long time reader first time commentator. Just want to get some things off my chest. First of all, thank you Presti. Second, bless you kid clutch and westbrook, you're a beast. Third, losses happen. Now that thabo is back, we start a dominating lineup. 2 defensive specialists that guard the crucial 2&5 spots. 2 players that are top 2 at their positions in the league, not to mention very complete players. And let's not forget about the Congo block party with a silky midrange stroke. Oh yeah, we've also got the 6th and 7th men of the year in harden and nick. AND we lost our 3rd best guard in maynor. Our weakness is post scoring but uhh I think we do plenty of scoring as is. Scotty is smart, he gets that you don't need 5 scorers on the floor at once (we only start 2). And the best part of this team is that they are babies. This is only the beginning
