used to be DARK KUSH if anyone cares. just thought this name was more Raider oriented.
RAIDERS 4 LIFE! THIS NEW ERA OF RAIDER FOOTBALL WILL JUST WIN, BABY! COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE
F*CK THE HATERS!
shooot nilby .. even if he can't rush very well ... Justin Smith isn't the best at bringing pressure, but holding his edge CONSTANTLY! we have enough pass rushing DT's on the roster.. we need a RB KILLER on both ends of this line... if he can accomplish that, then WILLIAMS AND BIGMAC STRUCK GOLD! yes... unlikely scenario ... but honestly, who thought Desmond Bryant would be this good and still learning the position ... that's the kind of players this team drafted and signed...

nice article BTW Asher. very well informed. you did your homework sir! what's your honest opinion on this offense? i mean, with these weapons, how could they fail?
WILDCARD: what if our penalties get CUT IN HALF with the discipline of this offense/defense that Allen brings? we need those 3 points from JANO instead of pushing us out of FG range. or not having to bring out JANO because of 2 false starts on the LOS! i believe they will make progress in shaking that curse. it'll be a big part of the new regime.
2 years, 11 months ago on Play Action: 2009 Seattle Seahawks | April
PS I can't believe i skipped Criner & Reece on offense... they are the X factors here. how will they be used a lot?
i emphasized TE's because this offense will depend upon them! Ausberry shouldn't have a bad time if he's learns major league TE route running ... his hands aren't the issue
there's too many options when everyone is healthy. i think it's any play caller's dream! Knapp will get to do a lot that he didn't get to before. he running the show since Allen has never been an offensive coach in his life.
with a masterful zone blocking OL like V-Berg-Wis-Bris-Barks ?
this team won't have any problems scoring a lot of point if they are here for 16 games!
it's the defense we must worry about here people. i went to 4 home games last year... none of those games had a lack of offense in it. that's saying something.
BONUS OF THIS SYSTEM:
if Knapp is successful and is here for years to come along with Allen, then Pryor will get all the continuation he needs to step into a very good situation with this kind of offense... he can take off AT ANY MOMENT when the threat of his arm is there.... LOOK OUT FOLKS! 3 years down the road.... times are looking very good.
Yes i do believe Burris will be rushing the passer more than anything. yes it will hurt him if he sucks in pass coverage... but he can work on it. have him put his hand in the dirt and go to town!

@JarrodRollins it was the same last year probably for you. what's the grade for them now around the league? i'\ve seen as high as B+ ...
2 years, 12 months ago on Raiders add many more players | April
@Spartacus BS . these guys have skills ... they just aren't eye popping as some other prospects. you really expect to get a superstar in the end of the 3rd and beyond? cmon kids... they didn't have high draft picks... what did you all expect?
if coached right, they will make it. at very least, we found a really good hitting squad on special teams. these guys all 1. take good angles 2. finish tackles, and have great overall vision... that makes them ST stand outs right off the bat.
Bergstrom will start this year... hopefully in place of Carlisle... while Barksdale comes into his own at RT. that's the dream scenario.
@JarrodRollins haha! yea cuz no big names were taken. go watch your BSPN and NFLN.
@Indy! of course they biffed it a bit on the DBs ... even though Allen is a GREAT UDFA signing. that kid is going to be a contributor one way or another this year. you can bank on it. this staff won't let another Sterling Moore happen in 2012... at least i hope so.
I truly believe they think Pat Lee, Spencer, Bartell, Checkwa, DVD, and Underwood is a good group of guys.
EVERYONE PLEASE REMEMBER: there is still the second round of cuts for current NFL players, and more UDFA signings to come when they get let go during or before the OTAS and TC ... happens all the time. like Blount a couple of years ago. was on 2 teams before he landed in TB ... DA and BigMac know that's when they can find more diamonds in the rough ... i believe he has with many of the defensive players he drafted, and he'll continue to.
giving draft grades before they play a down?
didn't you clowns learn from last years HORRIBLE DRAFT CHOICES? yea, tell that to Wiz and Moore. to say no one in this draft can turn into solid starters like they are, doesn't know what they're talking about.
just because they didn't take the high rated players on the so called "experts" draft boards, means we had a crappy draft?!
Burris looks spectacular, despite who he's playing against. the guy is EVERYWHERE on the field.
all these guys have GREAT VISION and HIGH MOTORS. they love the sport they're playing, and i'm not even religous at all, but the fact they are is very telling on how they were raised. they are dedicated to their craft for their families, which in a very religious faith, is the most important thing of all.
D MOORE AND WIZ II KIDDIES! that's all that needs to be said. our C GRADE IN THE 2011 DRAFT went to a B+ after the year was over... PLEASE TELL ME IM WRONG. thanks.
@RealRaider2055 @nilbymouth @dondiraider i believe it'll happen that way too... Berg is a good lineman. maybe not at RT though... anyone to get Carlisle to take a back seat is a good pick in my book.
2 years, 12 months ago on Raiders pick ? | April
they will be okay. i have a feeling BigMac will make a move for someone... moving up slightly. he'll strike a deal with a team to get someone like Spence or Chapman... either are sorely needed. yes it may be future draft picks... but a 4th rounder in 2014 to move up into the mid 3r'd to get either one of those guys would be tremendous! i'd be down for something like that. someone you KNOW will have good value and could contribute in some fashion right off the bat. i'd be happy with not having to wait FOREVER for them to pick... late Friday ... ugh...
BUT PALMER IS WORTH IT LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!
3 years ago on Don't expect Raiders to trade up into 2nd round | April
LOL! yea trade the best player on offense.... to NE no doubt. glad you aren't running the show, as usual. of course he's hurt a lot, but he'll get over it. or wait, if he is injury prone as all hell, why the F would NE give us a 1st rounder? LMFAO
@morestickum if he wants to run a 3-4 at times, you can bank on it. i say DROP HIM and get EJ Henderson in here.. just my two cents.
3 years ago on McClain settles one lawsuit, one remains | April
another camp body... it's clear that BigMac doesn't want to spend any more doe. guys like TO are too expensive ... and i don't think they'd sign him anyway... although i like the idea of another weapon for Palmer, because we're overloaded anyway.
it is underrated guys like Calhoun who are hungry and ready to rumble ... more blue collar guys on the team. i like it!
3 years ago on Raiders ink Duke Calhoun | April
BTW i've heard in many circles that Josh Kaddu may fall to our 4th round compensatory pick ... wouldn't that be something to get both.
3 years ago on Raiders Draft Prep: player visits | April
CHAPMAN CHAPMAN CHAPMAN!
pairing him up with Seymour and TK will do wonders for this defense. the little HULK can bulk up a little more and play NT all day long.. disturbing every inside running lane... for the future, it's all about the Tollefson, Bryant, Chapman show up front! i like that combo a lot going forward.
@JarrodRollins they wont take a 5th rounder,,, it will at least take a 4th rounder... and it would have to be somewhat a high one...
3 years ago on Raiders Mock Draft 2.0 by @RaiderDraftnik | April
CHAPMAN ALL DAY !
i would ilke Sean Spence just as much.
either one of them are a day 1 starter...
and i think one of them will be a raidah!
@Spartacus @xraided http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOaajv2cMu8
just shuttup and watch them.
he has the same chance to succeed as anyone with a dedication to the craft. obviously he has that, he gave up a possible basketball career to play a completely different sport. that's ballsy in itself.
that's the bottom line here. POTENTIAL. that's all i EVER said. and suddenly you think i'm comparing him to Gates? childish.
3 years ago on Raiders sign developmental TE prospect Andre Hardy | April
@Spartacus @xraided no actually i treat everyone here with respect. been here a lot longer than you have, BTW... going on since the 07-08 season. i changed my name because this is more raider like, and is one of my favorite Bay Area rappers. keep tryin to dog me on it... cmon now... it's pathetic...
you constantly come on here thinking you're smarter than an NFL GM. when you get proven wrong you get angry... plain and simple.
i didn't PREACH anything about him numbnutz! HAHA man you're idiotic. i JUST STATED A FACT that you bash on guys like these constantly without even knowing who they are. that's straight up NONSENSE coming out of you. sick of it... i stated more facts by saying HE WILL BE ON THE PRACTICE SQUAD TO DEVELOP... much like Reece did... get it yet?
you are the only one acting like a know it all... it's a debate on here guy, you think the same way as i do.. Mr. ArmChair GM. i just come up with certain facts that you cannot deny so you start picking the fights.
get lost dweeb. you've been served.
resigning Branch will save them money this year... and Reggie is waiting for that so he can pounce on more FA's on the first cuts from other ballclubs. you get real value there as well...
you just have to get used to the no big signings like VJ for example... the man is grossly overpaid in TB... he's good, but he's not that good. signing blue collar guys to build your core with is the BEST way to go. it's hard to argue otherwise. that's what Reggie is doing here... this man will go CRAZY in the UDFA market... i'm willing to bet he'll land a few. this is just but a taste of the young, hungry kids and crafty veterans alike that have FOOTBALL INTELLIGENCE that are willing to learn. you just wait and see.
@Spartacus @Harder2000 they don't have money though. you aren't paying attention to Reggie's words are you? yea, they can go over the cap, but why be strapped? they have to resign a number of our home grown players... which include Branch, Veldheer, even DMC(can't let go a talent like that, sorry) ... he is thinking of the future, something Mr. Davis rarely did.. obviously.
@Harder2000 @Spartacus he'll be stuck on the practice squad. just like someone named MARCEL REECE ... who was on the practice squad for 2 years... made his mark now, didn't he!?
if Hardy can take punishment mentally and physically day in and day out, then he's going to at very least be a backup in this league. someone that'll dress on sunday's... for a guy that didn't cost the raiders one sliver of a dime ... it makes it a no brainer
and it's not like other teams were intrigued by his skills as well.. they attended his workout in San Diego ... the Raiders wanted to take a FLIER on him. they will be rewarded me thinks.
not comparing anything smart guy... haha! i actually said that... learn to read a bit. i said ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE. Gates played no football at all, and worked his ass off to become what he is today... why can't Hardy do it smart guy?
Jimmy Graham played 1 year of college ball. it's fair to say he didn't have "4 years of college play" , right? ... yes he tore it up that one year, something Hardy hasn't proven on any level, but to say he's a stupid signing is ridiculous. now Brees has helped him be the #1 TE in the NFL. Palmer could help him do the same if the kid really wants to.
my phrasing? LMAO. you don't even know what that means. you just don't understand a GM's way of thinking. you said Veldheer was a REACH and was going to take a long time to develop because of his division II play. i'll go back and find it if you'd like. boy were you wrong.. and can't own up to it. i've admitted being wrong about him and DHB both... something you can't do.
the mere fact that you're complaining and whining about a FREE PICK is hilarious. you're the only one down on this low risk, high reward signing. it's called DEPTH kid, learn it. thanks.
JUST athleticism? LOL ... you haven't seen his tape.. he has more than that.
you can't tell me there isn't potential there. you're a 6'5 monster that can work on route running(like DHB did, right?!) ... with very good hands and location of the ball over your head.
HARD WORK AND PREPARATION got DHB a thousand yards last year... limited TD's yes, something he needs to work on. but he was about to be out of the league, and became a legit NFL wideout instead... because of dedication. tell me i'm wrong, thanks.
@Spartacus and BTW, if a small receiver can take a lights out hit from a SS, so can a 6'5, 250 lbs guy. of course we know nothing about him, that's why he'll be on the practice squad for a while.
want another example? look at Pryor. his career stats EXPLODE on the page... yet he's still considered a RAW talent and probably won't be ready for a backup role just yet. we can easily go the other way where a guy discovers he's a born football player rather than a basketball player, and tare up the league day 1! Gates did for the most part. the guy is a HOF NFL football player that played college hoops in the beginning of his career, even in high school.
@Harder2000 practice squad developmental player. that's what they're shooting for. but you never know... some of the hook routes he ran on his video could prove very useful. if the ball is already flying at his face before he turns around... 1st down Raiders! guys like this are hard to stop because of how big they are.
it really depends on him taking a hit and surviving the hazing he'll surely get from the actual football players on the team fighting for a roster spot. a basketball player switching to the NFL will not go over well with them. he survives that and develops on the PS, then we could be in business. i'm all for trying anything rather than depending on Ausberry, Gord, and Myers.. that's fo damn sho.
yes spartacus, just like Veldheer WAS GOING TO SUCK because he played division II college football... remember that?
and yes, because playing a lot of college ball ALWAYS TRANSLATES into the NFL... LMAO .. tell that to Antonio Gates. he only played basketball through college. tell me i'm lying. it can be done if you have the drive to succeed and can take a hit. if his route running improves, the hands are already there.
we don't know quite yet what we have in Ausberry. he's still a project. both of these guys are. there's nothing wrong with competition.
he's a practice squad development player, plain and simple. he's a cheap signing and could turn into something someday. Reggie is doing just fine.. getting his "head examined" is going a little too far guy.
i do realize however that Graham had a tremendous last year in college as a bigtime redzone threat... catching 14 TDs on 17 catches... whereas this kid has ZERO experience... but with good route running skills and good hands... it can definitely happen over time.
Gordon will be switched to FB with this signing.
go look up his workout/pass catching video.. he's very fluid in his motions and has some fabulous looking hands. at 6'5, he can create mismatches everywhere, much like Graham does. i love how people down on it by saying he only runs a 4.7 40 yard dash. okay kids, go tell that to Gates and Witten... they're considered slower TE's ... it's all about finding the open space in the flat for the first down... something you LEARN VERY WELL as a basketball player.. finding the open spots is a trait for a power forward... much like a TE.
Wheeler is okay, just watched some footage of him extensively. he is good in run support, but BAD at pass protection. god help us! no more Fitzpatrick to Stevie Johnson PLEASE!
3 years ago on Raider Nation likely influential in bringing Wheeler to Oakland | March
donkos are lame. they will get smashed upon. Palmer lit them up in his first start in 8 months or so.. i don't think he'll have a problem with the cast we have now. it'll be offensive shoot outs, but the raiders will come up on top.
