@gnaygg I think it's acl's not achillies that Blair doesn't have but point taken.
More encouraged by this loss than by several recent lackluster wins. Russ played great for the first time in a couple of weeks. His play will determine if we win the chip IMO. Plus Serge hitting jump shot after jump shot very encouraging. Opposition needs to be aware of that which will open up the lane for others. Only question is who is serge gonna guard against Dallas to allow him to be out there assuming Mavs crunchtime are Kidd, Terry, Marion, dirk, & hayward/mahimi? Seems to me these are centers that serge can handle - play him at the 5 for once.
Fish does not have back to back passable games in him at this pt in his career.
Really like what we're seeing from Russ tonight.
@ou_sas @HookemKD Many are talking up Parker for league MVP consideration so I question that he'll only make the third team. Between Kobe & Parker, I'd be very surprised if Russ gets the second first team guard spot. A month ago maybe, but too many 3 for 22 type stinkbombs of late.
@Jooseppi Amazing to me that phoenix got as close to the playoffs as they did. Compare their roster to sacramento's and it's not even close to as talented IMO.
Remember when our coach went by 'Scottie' instead of Scott? The following link may have something to do w/the switch. (Heard about this on a Simmons podcast before you all jump to the wrong conclusion). https://mobile.twitter.com/#!/scottiebrooks
Cole is active, will give him that, but also saw cousins drive around him like he was standing still in post-up plays on several occasions. Very limited lateral quickness, pretty standard trait for big, hulking white guys. I would not feel comfortable amnestying Perk in order to keep both James & Serge if it means relying on Cole to become our starting center. No big issue w/him getting 10 mpg as a backup though.
I find all this Cole love quite amusing. It's clear he'd be first team NBA if only he played more right?
Well at least it's the best team in the league were gettin blasted by. Wait,,,what?
Wouldn't be at all surprised if Denver beat LAL (assuming standings hold) prior to us getting a crack at them. Denver's 8-4 in April, gallonari is back after a couple of injuries, & Bynum may have mentally checked out after being benched in the game yesterday. Any way you slice it, hard to see how it could've played out any better for us matchup-wise. That being said, I participate in a NBA playoff bet every year & I'm picking SA over miami in 6 in the finals. When $'s involved I think w/my head not my heart.
@soonerfan237 @Lost Hear you but berrea & Chandler were probably 2 of the main 4 players who won that series for them & they're gone, and seems unlikely that Dirk will catch that sort of lightning in a bottle again so am not overly concerned with them this year.
Was flipping through tv channels a minute ago while listening to pandora on headphones & saw on the screen that artest is a scheduled guest on Conan tomorrow. Surely these are reruns this week?
@soonerfan237 @Lost Ones If we're concerned about Dallas or Denver, we ain't going far.
@Lost Ones Rest, rest, rest. I was calling for it prior to the laker game, & James wouldn't of had his face blasted had we rested. Every other contender has been wisely resting guys.
@shiki @FF_pickups @Old Man Game Agree Shiki, think all of our main guys should sit out the next 2, but especially Russ - he plays so damn hard all the time. Why wouldn't he be wearing down at this point w/the compressed schedule?
@Old Man Game Hope you're right but don't know that we can necessarily conclude from this that he'll be A-ok. Most times you get one & recover ok in a day or two but it's as fickle an injury as there is, potentially w/ebbs & flows from day to day, see Sidney Crosby & Kevin love. Regarding the suspension length, I was thinking 5-games or so last night but the more I've seen the replay, seems evident the guy truly is insane. If you're stern, can you truly feel confident the guy won't completely snap in the blink of an eye, pick up a chair or something and actually kill or paralyze an opponent, ref or fan? I wouldn't put it past that nutjob and how could stern live w/himself if something like that occurred. I think the punishment will be extremely harsh.
Regarding Serge's lack of minutes supposedly proving that he's not an elite defender - come on Royce, can't believe you wrote that. Damn near every okc fan has been clamoring for him to get more minutes since about game #15. Because Brooks chooses to play the immortal fish in the dreadful small ball lineup or nazr in any line up instead of Serge speaks more to dumb coaching decisions than it does to proving he's not an elite game-impacting defender. Can nitpick his pnr communication all you want, but so far as being a bottom line, game-changing,'the reason the oponent's possession is unsuccessful' defender, only lbj is in his league IMO. Am beginning to think that Serge must have dissed Royce in the locker room a time or two cause he is consistently undervalued or flat out slighted in the writing on DT IMO.
Here's hoping that the daily bolts are posted early today so that this particular comment thread and the high percentage of garbage contained herein can fade into oblivion.
@ThunderChick2010 @Lost @persiansooner13 That's just the reality of the word thunderchick, like I posted, think it's because of tupac's 'thug life'. So as the purveyor of politically correct discourse around here, one cannot call black guys thugs if their aim is to be racially neutral.
