Siri will drive my car w/ turn-by-turn directions. I will outsource short-term memory to geofenced reminders. But the best feature add, unlisted above, is finally being able to add photos within the mail compose screen.
@sarahlacy heck yes, would love one. I realize you're kidding, but I shot you an email anyways. It wouldn't be the first time I misinterpreted a female's blinking.
Two questions. First, are they looking to eventually charge for this service? I only ask because of the "pricing" link at the bottom that currently leads to a 404 error. Second, does pointing this out impact my position on the wait-list?
Silent protest? Such a missed opportunity for a wonderful hodgepodge of protest signage
As a media junkie, I feel like big media is finally turning the corner on digital. Some of my favorite follows on Twitter are journalists from Reuters, Bloomberg, The Atlantic, and NYTimes just posted 3 jobs they're seeking to fill as they expand their 'social media' team. This is all anecdotal, but I feel like for all the Sky News-likecompanies doing it wrong, there are NYTimes-like companies starting to do digital right. I also agree that this need not be a Jedi vs. Sith lord battle for the good of mankind. As my generation ages, more and more of us becoming taxpayers, I think there will be a growing audience that can be captured by both.
After reading the headline, I was actually relieved to find out these are not indeed native apps. I agree that this is an interesting idea for small businesses in this form. I think providing quick-native- app-creation would be annoying for users w/ the gluttony of cookie-cutter apps already in the app store and also forces companies that do want a native app to actually invest time/thought into mobile development.
Agree that this is a great idea for older photos, but I can already my mother worrying about shipping our 'prized memories' to a service like ScanCafe. With our parents' generation being a bit less trusting/tech savvy, wouldn't it make sense for a company like ScanCafe (or even 1000memories) to partner with a company like FedEx Kinko's? Mom will still worry about potential for loss/damage, but at least it's a brand she knows with a physical store she can raise a ruckus in.
@nathanielmott How is Upstate NY not covered by the Canadian rural broadband program?
Wouldn't be here without my father's incubator
Sarah - curious what you meant in regards to "it's turning people into the..advantage writers have" at the 32:40 mark? I took it to mean that the writer's advantage over the subjects is one of the attention NOT being on them, therefore always making the story about the subject rather than the writer?
There's got to be a threshold(and potential API tie-in) between the duration of a Pair-relationship and going 'Facebook public' with your relationship. For example, 1 month in a Pair relationship --> change in status on FB to "In a Relationship". Either that or a threshold of thumbkisses..
