the neutral site games are so deflating, this agreement would be so much more interesting if it was home vs. home, with the LSU home game being in early September and Wisconsin game late in the season so its nice and cold.

@John at MrSEC @ChaseTheTrainWarren no thanks for your great work John i love the site, but the smaller issue for me is with the NCAA being so nimble to not sign the contract with NCAA because of this suit in comparison with how long they drug there feet for the playoff.

good job NCAA, now that you have finally come around to having a playoff, you have cut out your contract with EA JUST BEFORE IT WOULD BE IN THE DAME GAME! now that it has hit a level where i think that could keep up the rosters, uniforms and conference alignment , you stop just before there is a major switch in the format of the post season. Nah, realignment was a actual topic that had enough fact to cover it, but not enough to speak on every day, mostly the new were high school freshman talking about sex, only 5% actually doing it and not really knowing What there Getting in to and 95% talking about what a shame it is or how they Want to do it.

I feel Mr.sec covered it like the cool sex ed teacher, a quick list of who obviously has do it, probably will do it, but more important What would happen if you do end up doing it and the repercussions.

there is also a tint of " its not a rivalry " as denigration of the rivalry...... yo also have the same move being played by Georgia and Clemson on South Carolina, troll the message boards around game week and you will see it played out with the fact that Clemson has 25 more wins than the Gamecocks to draw the conclusion that until its a 50/50 split that it is not a rivalry.

just thinking things out here...........................with the idea that the largest schools long term plans though to be to get out of the NCAA or to create a different division, I think these steps would do more to thin out the amount of schools who have football. If the current ACC and SEC teams are unable to schedule FBS teams would Furman , Coastal Carolina and Wofford have enough money to run the programs with out the payday of playing Georgia, SC, Clemson or GT?

@torris187  @BonzaiB  @ChaseTheTrain yes i was poking fun of the low cost of it all, but this is also a point that i don' think many people understand about conference expansion, and holding on to the idea that all conferences need to be based on geography.

i will use Clemson here for an example, with there ACC games as they are now they may have a home game slate of GT, NC st , Pitt and FSU.....

with that situation of those four games as someone who lives in Charlotte and the campus is 2 hours away and being a college football fan and not a big fan of those two teams, only FSU is a game that i would be intrested in going to go see or has a large group or transplant fans around the nation.

now if they go to the Big XII the home slate could line us as Texas, Kansas, WV and OK st. now while it dose have Kansas the others are 3 teams that would draw my attention and i would most likely go to two of those.

its not about getting people to travel across the country, its about packing the stadiums you already have.

Again i just want to know WHY would the AD's or heads of the ACC, Big East, Mountain West, Mid-American, Conference USA and Sun Belt ever sign this? Who could not see this kind of split up in revenues coming?

I'm not beating the eight team play off because i think it would be "cool" or "fair," I just don't understand how those six conferences look at the situation and do not hold out for an eight team playoff even if it is just to keep your foot in the door.

it was letting the wolf in the hen house, then welding the door shut!

and how long before all of the small football school all grouping in to one conference ala WAC?

a thing that i do not really see people taken in to consideration on the TN job.

If i were to ask you to write down your top 10 rankings for next year, after arguing that i know that it is WAY to soon to rank teams just jot them down

now  of that list of 10 would would Oregon, Florida, Georgia, Alabama or South Carolina on your list? 4 out of the 5? 3 out of the 5?

now go look at the Vols 2013 schedule

they will play all 5 of those teams with in there first 8 games, and FL, ALA and the Ducks are away games.

with the bar being set that you would only have 3 years to have the team back to being a huge power and it being vary reasonable that your first year that you will have 5 loses in your first 8 games, would you take the job?

would love to see the glory  restored a for the Vols to be a great team, but its all up hill and the hills are vary steep at Rocky Top.

to any coach taking the job.... rent your house and have the buyout be bigger then your signing bonus.

@John at MrSEC no problem, i love the site

was wanting your insight on something.

with conference realignment, do you think if it was an 8 team playoff instead of 4 that it would throw a wet blanket on some of these moves?

while there were moves well before the 4 team playoff was announced, and all have more than just one reason, it feels like alot of these moves of late are vary knee jerk.

i understand why Big IIX, Pac 12, and SEC would agree to the format, why would the commissioner of the B1G, ACC, BIG East, Con- USA or Mac ever agree to a format that would hardly take one of there members. Even if it is temporary why let the possibility of your guys not getting in and give a huge boost to the argument that a team would need to get out of your conference to even get a shot at a national championship.

with four it feels like four super conference is a self fulfilling prophecy, while if there were eight spot i think teams would feel a little better with staying in a small pond, a small pond that is employing the person who just signed on to a format that makes his conference look irrelevant.

there is a large canary in the coal mine with the SEC adding teams that no one has talked about.

SEC has always released the 2013 schedule and they commented that it was a temporary one.

last year they did the same thing with the excuse that they were just throwing one out at the time because they were trying to find out how the new schools were going to work out.

this year? same laps of a solid schedule but with no new teams to "figure out" .....yet.

dose in no way mean that the SEC are adding teams but it is a small tell tell sign.

there are these ideas 2 of the teams have to lose, i think that it is only one.......

if Oregon falls and there is a threat of a  Notre Dame vs K-state , that will be a match with all of the appeal of a bowl of oatmeal

I think that there will be a voting booth moment of truth and ether Oregon or Bama will get a strange boost in the last polls

i dont see why having 8 teams would be that limiting. If they are set on it being champions only  the hairs will have to be split

who is going to have to break it to the ACC and the big east that there championship really dosnt mean anything.

that will be alot of boat rocking that all of the egos in the room really cant handle.

so have a 8 team play off six from the all the current AQ (SEC, ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Big East and Pac 12 ) with two teams coming in as a wildcard.

the regular season really isnt effected because teams will still be gunning for the championships / Notre Dame is feed on the ideas that they potential can get in with the wildcard bid / we can get three SEC school in to the post game run to show why the ACC and Big East championships dont mean anything, all while still having rooms for the Boise's to warm the "little engine that could" cockles of the heart.

There will still be debate about who the #8 to #9 team are but after taking out the champions of each conference there will usually be a good bit of diffrince in the rankings.
