@rrrrottenapples @MaggieMoo No, Tracy Martin first told the Miami Herald that Trayvon was suspended in February for being in an unauthorized area. That was a lie. The Herald found out it was for drugs. Then the Martin family got mad that they found out and said, "You're trying to kill our son again."
Martin has never been suspended for being in an unauthorized area.
Someone needs to check why Trayvon switched to a new high school last year. His mother said he had done better at the other high school, Carol than Kopp, his most recent one.. So why did he switch if he was doing ok there? Has anyone checked to see if he was kicked out or suspended at the other high school?
@MaggieMoo Before Trayvon's Facebook page was taken down, there were a TON of comments from kids the day after his death. They all knew.
@MaggieMoo @Aussie54 @dan123123123 Tracy Martin's son was dead before the all star game even started.
@MaggieMoo @rrrrottenapples Third and final suspension was for drugs.
@dan123123123 No, the Miami Herald reported that his most recent suspension in February was for drugs. This was his third suspension in five months. His second was in October, for vandalism. His father says that his first which supposedly occurred some time in September, was for tardiness and truancy. The school does not suspend students for tardiness or truancy. So we do not know what this first was for. But the most recent was definitely for drugs.
@SteveDinMD Good points. Tracy Martin says he took Trayvon with him because he had just been suspended from school. He SAYS he took him with him to talk sense into him, but then he seems to have hightailed out with Brandi almost as soon as they arrived. Why did he leave Trayvon at home? Why did a Crump spokesperson say early on that Trayvon had to "beg" to be allowed to go to the store? Tracy Martin wasn't even home at the time and when he got home he had no idea where he was.. Also he told reporters later he thought Trayvon had gone to the movies. So if that was true, then why did Trayvon had to beg to go to the store, if it was Ok for him to go to the movies, a much bigger outing?
Tracy Martin's first story was that he was at home watching basketball WITH Trayvon when Trayvon left for the store. That is false. Trayvon also did not leave at halftime for the NBA game, because that game didn't start until 7:30 pm.
No one seems very interested in details or the truth or anyone else's whereabouts.
I believe that Tracy Martin made a false statement when he said he got home at 10:30 pm. There was major police activity in the complex until at least three am. He didn't see or hear any of it, seventy yards from his house? Maybe he and Brandi went gambling all night or something.
@mfccfl Last week on the Today show Martin's mother told Anne Curry that if she could ask Zimmerman a question, it would be to ask how old he thought Martin was. So he answers her questions, plus they have been complaining that there has been no apology. They're just moving the goal posts. I also think they're sulking because the prosecutor's office did a horrible job at the hearing.
Even if the apology had been offered earlier, they would still find a way to diss it.
@tifosies @dan123123123 @Txflybyknight This was no "kid."Stop using that false term. This was a wanna be thug who according to a police report was found with a burglary tool and a cache of women's jewelry, and then denied it was his, but told the police he couldn't remember who they belonged to. Seems like the school officials should have done more about this incident; clearly a very troubled young man. Not kid.
@dontknowme A year ago, I had a friend who was beaten up severely at his home by a drunken friend. He was bleeding profusely from the head. Although medics offered to take him to the hospital, he refused. He was found dead in his bed the next day. No one can force you to go to the hospital.
@Terry Mann @JohnPaterson @passerby Yes, and he pushed away the hands of a police officer because he was trying to protect a friend of his who was being arrested. He was trying to help the friend, and the police held him back.
@LindsayMiller @Cake or Death No, how on earth are you reading into that? This author wrote this well investigated piece because the Martin family had sealed his court and school records, portrayed him as a trouble free angel. The truth will always out. The media wasn't investigating the truth of his background so Dan Linehan did. There was no balance, and he provided ti.
@LindsayMiller Well, sounds like you didn't read the Miami Herald story, because the school police officer caught him "hiding and looking suspicious."That's when they discovered the vandalism; the burglary tool and the cache of women's jewelry in his bag. While he insisted a "friend" put it there, he didn't produce a name. Hence: a suspension. The guy was troubled, and the school which has a zero drug tolerance policy, kicked him out. This is NOT to be minimized. The dude was troubled.
@coolfluffygreen ALSO: Martin's mother had his school and juvenile records sealed... Methinks there's a LOT they're hiding there.
@coolfluffygreen How do you know Martin's past is not as violent as Zimmerman's ? We STILL don't know why Martin was suspended in September 2011, the first of his three suspensions. While his father says it was for tardiness and truancy (which would be kinda hard to rack up that much in your first month of school) in fact the Miami Dade County school system DOES NOT suspend for that. They do an intervention and bring in social workers and a juvenile detention officer to make the kid NOT STAY OUt of school. For all we know, Martin could have assaulted a student.
His father has already been caught lying at least once to the Miami Herald in March when he said Martin was suspended for being in an unauthorized area, when in fact it was for drugs.
And about that vandalism and burglay tool incident: marks of a very troubled young man.
@deanno I know Wendy Murphy and by no means is she always pro-prosecution. She has written a whole chapter in her book "And Justice For All" about the sneaky ways prosecutors commit misconduct.
@Paul Hue @Alea1979 @BertDilbert @dan123123123 Don't forget drugs burglary tools and cache of women's jewelry, including women's wedding bands.
Good video of Mark O'Mara after the hearing yesterday. He is SO MUCH BETTER than the first two lawyers.
Orlando Sentinel even admits that O'Mara did well and the State did not.: http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment_tv_tvblog/2012/04/george-zimmerman-mark-omara-impresses-state-doesnt.html
