Yea .. check out the source. Hilariously unreliable.
Wanting clean air and water is not a scam, scaring the liberal timid sheep that swallow everything that is spoon fed to them so they support job killing, freedom killing, economy killing regulations and laws is a scam.
Do you seriously believe our air quality is 48th out of 50th states? Anyone that has traveled knows that can't be accurate.
blah blah blah ... more eco-terrorism to kill jobs and make more people dependent on our quickly developing socialist government.

How many addicts that have been saved by "narcan" have quit and gotten clean?
What happens if someone is saved by being administered narcan and the next week gets high and kills someone? Was the narcan worth it then?

I'm guessing most of the states that do well in this liberal survey are the worst off financially.
More propaganda to kill jobs and serve the liberal special interests that are pushing all the eco-friendly scams

Facts are facts ... money raised and taken in ticket sales for men's/boys sports (football and basketball) at the majority of all high schools and universities finances all the other sports. I know that is hard for some of you living in fantasy land to grasp, but its a fact. So instead of whining your girls don't get this and don't get that, maybe you should be thankful the boys programs do well enough to provide additional support to all the other sports at the school.
Once again, groups preaching tolerance and acceptance are the ones wanting to put chains on those that disagree with them. All this bill is doing is to give a private business owner the right to hire who they want.
It seems like the only FREEDOM not being protected is religious freedom.

Ritz is only concerned with keeping her union strong, in power and padding their retirement accounts at the expense of taxpayers statewide. If she was really about what's best for the kids, she'd make better use of all the state funding public schools receive while getting outperformed by charter schools.

Stop the dealers and suppliers, you'll stop the deaths. Instead of telling the police the truth about where the drugs were acquired, the ones involved are giving two separate accounts to cover their own asses, according to a previous story here. I guess it's unrealistic to expect the truth so real solutions to fix these problems can come about.

While I wouldn't lump all "20 something" into the same category, I certainly would include all that do stupid crap like this. There are plenty of "20 something" people who have overcome adversity, disappointment and life's hard knocks to be responsible, respectful adults (heard of Lauren Hill?). It's sickening and adds to the problem our country is facing today when the "excuse makers" come out to defend people that do such stupid things.
They should also look seriously at the doctor's who prescribe all these pills which lead to dependency issues, which lead to the abuse and crime. If the doctors wouldn't get paid for all the prescriptions they write, maybe they would be a little more careful to whom and how frequently they hand them out.

@RachelDorion Rachel, I hope you're right, but as long as there are greedy lawyers and "victims", I'm not going to hold my breath. All it would take is one mistake made by police in administering it and bam ... the city would be sued for millions.

If a small rate hike is needed to avoid having anything to do with Duke, its worth it.
First and foremost ... keep Duke out!
Second ... calculate and let everyone know what the actual increase would be. They have all the information available and it would be easy to forecast/calculate what customers' bills would be at the new rates, based on their individual usages. They can't make an informed decision without the correct information.
Third .... scale back on the extravagance that is Fall Fest and stop spending money just because someone or some group wants it.
Fourth ... when the current contract expires for the city workers, re-negotiate it. When the citizens are paying the salaries, insurance and retirement via tax dollars, they need to be at levels that are sustainable.
Based on the published wages and salaries of the city workers, they should be able to pitch in more than $1.00 to pay for their insurance and retirement.
The city has been living fat and sassy for the last 10-15 years.
Hopefully the city council in place now will do their job and make the sacrifices necessary to keep Duke out of our electric supply, even if it costs a few more bucks a month.

Government needs to be smaller not bigger on every level (local, state and federal).
I hope the current council chooses the option that is most economically feasible, NOT WHAT THE ARCHITECTS AND HISTORICAL SOCIETY think will "do justice" to the existing building.
If the architects and historical society are so worried about the "aesthetics" of the building, how about the architects cut their PROFIT and the historical society pony up some cash to make up the difference?
Also, if the architects are working for the county/council, they should provide estimates on every option. Funny how they didn't bother to estimate the two lowest options as Councilman Kraus noted.

It amazes me the stupidity of society that constantly condones illegal, bad behavior of people and then portray them as victims and make every stupid excuse to try and explain away their illegal, bad behavior.
Follow the law, don't be an idiot and if the police say stop, STOP. If people respect the police and do what they are asked/ordered to do, then everyone goes home alive. Why is that so hard for people to understand?

The perp (who lives there) texted the victim to come to the house because no one was home.
