Here's a newsflash ... if you don't want to get shot at, don't try to run over a policeman or speed off in a vehicle at 100 mph endangering the lives of innocent people. Pretty simple stuff

I'm guessing the victim's insurance company will sue the offending driver's insurance company.
Time to ban Yankee Candles!
How come the chick that ran over the guy with her van got off on a diversion?

Wow ... get off free as a bird for committing a Class D Felony? What about all the signs that say "roll this stop sign and pay $152.00"? I thought the "burg was tough on crime?
for every "expert" claiming the adverse effects of global warming, there are an equal number of "experts" claiming the opposite. Pollution has ben cut tremendously since the industrial age and coal is cleaner and safer than it ever has been! How many of these jobs lost with the new regulations will be replaced with solar and wind turbine facilities here in Indiana? I'm guessing ZERO. If you want the truth, follow the money and who stands to make a bunch of money off of all the "green energy companies". How many of the billions of dollars this administration gave and loaned to green energy companies has actually produced any energy or jobs?

How many of the them are on some form of government subsidized health care?
That should be the real question instead of how many don't have "individually or employer paid" insurance, shouldn't it?

It means ....
1. higher electric prices
2. fewer jobs
3. less taxes to collect from the power plants
4. less sales taxes because people who work there won't have as much disposable income
5. It means Barry has no clue how to oversee a heathy, vibrant economy.
Thanks to all the un-informed Democrats that elected this guy to a second term so he could finish off killing the middle class.

Funny how it was always the President's fault when gas prices got so high ... but since Barry the Blameless has been President, people just bend over and take it.

Interesting how they say "sober driver checkpoint" lol
Why would they be checking to see if people are sober, when driving drunk is illegal?
Just call it what it is .... drunk driver checkpoint .... stop with all the PC crap.

@ser0862 @irishgreens and this is precisely the problem with parents and their children these days. Everyone's "Johnny or Susie" is a sweet, innocent, infallible child incapable of fault or any wrong doing.
Then when they DO get in trouble or accused of being involved in trouble ... mommy and daddy boldly proclaim their child's innocence and want us to believe them until the facts come out. I venture to say, 90% of the time, the initial report filed by the police is accurate. Especially if they have had previous run-ins with the law.
I hope this isn't true and that this young man wasn't smoking dope around a 13 yr. old or any minor. My theory is if young people don't put themselves in a position to get into trouble or be 'caught up' in trouble or run around with other people who are "trouble", then they won't find themselves in trouble.
It's not because we don't have enough skate parks, movie theaters or activities for young people, its because we don't have enough parents to raise their kids themselves instead of expecting the schools or society to raise them.

no one is saying stop welfare, just make the standards to receive them difficult enough to prevent/reduce abuse. Drug testing and work requirements would thin the herd easy enough. Not only would this reduce the abuse, but more money could then go to help those that REALLY NEED it (the children) to help them escape the chain of government dependence.
3 months, 2 weeks ago on Women Allegedly Provided Drugs Used In Fatal Overdose
@FastEd1 @SUBHATER Corporate subsidies go to keep corporations IN AMERICA! Which means keeping tax revenue and people employed, which in turn produces more taxes to pay for defense and other NECESSITIES. Welfare is not a necessity for most that are on it and abuse it. It is a lifestyle they choose (not all, but most) because it's easy!!!!!
How many welfare cheats do you see with tattoos? Going out to bars? Buying booze, cigarettes and garbage at the grocery? Have iphones, cable tv, etc.? I'd venture to say 99% who cheat the system have and do all these things. How many claim to have "medical" problems which prevent them from working, but doesn't prevent them from hanging in bars, eating like crap and making their health problems worse? when the majority of people on public assistance or disability are by federal standards "obese" there is a problem.
The topic/subject isn't corporate subsidies. The topic is the worthless, lazy, uninspired welfare cheats that use every reason and excuse possible for their lack of responsibility, productivity and being a drag on society.
@SUBHATER 100% correct!
3 months, 3 weeks ago on L’burg Fall Fest Revived, But Some Will Be Charged For Rides, Entertainment
@funconcessions @RBAE76 Nope I was only commenting about the people that were complaining they would have to pay for entertainment for themselves or their children.
You are correct, the reference to "out of town-ers" was poorly spoken, written, explained, etc. Obviously, they need some lessons in communication.
Although I just moved to Lawrenceburg, I was a frequent visitor and have family and friends that have lived here, so I have heard, read and seen of some of the bonehead decisions being made by the current administration.
Unfortunately there is no cure for the "good ole boy network", backscratching and greed except the annual elections.
If the ENTIRE community is going to continue to thrive (with the gambling boat revenues on the decline) its time to tighten the belt and cut out/reduce the spending on things that aren't essential.
If all the whiners are concerned with paying for rides for their kids or entertainment for themselves, there is this thing called a personal budget. Here's how it works .... you put back a couple bucks each week. Between now and then, you should be able to save $20.00 - $30.00 and your kids will be able to ride plenty of rides.
If you still don't have enough, then maybe mom and dad should skip the beer tent and concert so YOUR kids can have fun instead.
I just moved to Lawrenceburg from a neighboring county and am sadly not surprised to hear all the whining about something that has been FREE is being taken away. I always thought it was an extremely UNSELFISH act by the city to put this festival on for FREE especially with the top quality entertainment they brought in, albeit at the expense of the taxpayers.
For all you complainers, name me one other festival or event of this caliber where its free? Can't do it can you?
Personally, I commend the city council for THIS DECISION. It's easy to govern when money is flowing in fast and easy. It's time the city starts cutting back on the "freebies" and wastes of taxpayer dollars of the past, so the city can continue to keep property taxes low, utilities low, maintaining and improving infrastructure and helping L'burg parents with affordable books for their kids.
If you can't afford a few bucks for an admission fee to a concert or rides for your kids, plan ahead and save up some cash, I'm sure it won't be that expensive for "out of town-ers".
Why is it his choice to be evaluated or not? Take the children away from these two and cut off their SNAP and welfare, maybe then they'll striaghten up?

@lessthanyoumorethanme I'm sure the authorities and lawyers will find someone to blame ... justly or un-justly.
4 months, 2 weeks ago on 911 Call Shows Mother Of Drowned Twins In Near Panic; Questions Arise Whether Pool Met Code
@lessthanyoumorethanme Take your pick .....
1. Blame the people blaming the radio station that made the 911 call to the public.
2. IF the pool was not up to code (which I don't know if it was or not) blame the homeowners. If it was up to code and the proper permits were acquired and followed, mark them off the list.
3. IF the pool wasn't properly fenced in, blame neighbors who saw it but did nothing about it?
Plenty of blame to go around .... but none of it belongs to the radio station.
@lessthanyoumorethanme My point was there is no reason to "blame" the radio station for posting news. No one is being forced to listen to to it and if I were related to these children or knew the family, I sure as heck wouldn't listen to it. Accidents happen and this is horribly sad and tragic.
Have you ever listened to a 911 recording whether here or on the local news? Chances are you have but probably didn't know the people involved.
If so, did you call channel 5, 9, 12 or 19 and call them insensitive or crude?
Seems to me you're the one blaming the rock.
You can also donate directly to Rullman Funeral Home in Aurora.
4 months, 2 weeks ago on UPDATE: Police Identify Twin Two-Year-Olds In Apparent Drowning
@teresalf @KarenTillisFaust At least Karen is trying to prevent this from happening to other children. What are you doing to prevent this from happening to someone else's children? You'd rather get on here and criticize and create drama where none is needed.
@KarenTillisFaust Thank you for sharing this. Obviously some people are more concerned with creating drama where drama isn't needed, rather than doing something constructive to try and prevent it from happening again.
It's the perfect time for that type of announcement. When would be a better time to help prevent this from happening again?
Do you really think the parents or anyone involved in this tragedy is actually reading these posts, to be offended in the first place?
Wouldn't it be worth it if just one child was saved, by just one person reading the post and learning from it?
If you don't want to listen to something, watch something or read something then DON'T.
There's plenty of blame to go around in this tragedy, yet the most outrage seems to be directed towards a news outlet posting a 911 recording.
