You are entitled to your opinion, but I couldn't disagree with you more on every single point. There is a legitimate point to be made that Clara's first two appearances were more interesting then when her actual character appeared, but I think that speaks to how strong those first two appearances were. I know there are Whovians who prefer the RTD shows to those by Moffat, but for my money 4 of the 7 best RTD shows were written by Moffat, and the two worst new Who shows were on RTD's watch, back to back as it happens (Love and Monsters and Fear Her).

@Oodkind Well, I think you might have forgotten some of the truly evil things Forbisher did, like ordering the death of Torchwood and those who were involved in the original deal with the 456. Maybe he was "just following orders" but we've heard that sort of thing before. The only reasons we don't hate Forbisher are the incredible performance by Capaldi, who was able to infuse the character with pathos, and the terrific script. Capaldi's performance bolds very well for the 12th doctor.

RTD came up with the explanation, whatever it is, long before there was an 11th doctor or Trenzalore, so that can't be the explanation.
@DW_girl Fine, the character was intelligent and brave (although not independent; as I remember it she spent almost the entire series praying for the Doctor to notice her). On the other hand, the performance was dull, whiney, annoying, and one note. Freema Agyeman may be a lovely person. She may even be a good actress whose character was under-written. However, the combination of actress and character has no charisma whatsoever as far as I am concerned. It's not just me - Martha almost always comes in last in the polls on the new companions.

@Unibot Vincent would have won in most most of the other slots. Also, comparing it to Blink is very much a case of apples to oranges. They are both wonderful (although I did vote for Blink).
@supermoff @Liana21 Don't forget Amy "What happened to the Dalek?" River "It died". It even has a Fez, until River shoots it.
@chinnysandshoes I dunnuh. I actually voted for the Big Bang as the best finale, but In the Name of the Doctor I thought the Doctor's goodbye to River Song was emotionally satisfying, I really liked Clara telling Hartnell he was about to steal the wrong TARDIS, and I thought the John Hurt reveal was a "pretty good" OMG moment (as in What the Hell?).
@awkward912 I agree - I thought it was a great episode all the way around.
So if you do this again, it might be fun to have people vote for the best and worst episode in each series. Also, you might want to omit "Day of the Doctor" from the voting, since that will likely triumph over any competition.
@RobertLythgoe Other than Series 4 and 5, they rest were all very close. I agree that Series three is very good despite a boring companion and the worst two parter since the series was revived. After all it has the Family of Blood two parter, Blink, and the Utopia trilogy.
@YaelMoise @Nightmarish If there is one single thing that elevates Turn Left. it is the chilling scene where the government decides to "relocate" the Italian family to a very uncertain fate; suddenly this is not fantasy anymore. It may well be the single most powerful scene in all of Doctor Who, and it has nothing to do with the doctor.

@Whovian They are both wonderful. The fact of the matter is that there have been very few out and out bad episodes. Even the worst ones of the Nightmare Run had their moments (well with the possible exception of "Fear Her" I guess.)
@Rio Rio Amy - "What happened to the Dalek?" River - "It died". Doesn't get much better than that.

They have certainly had some fine finales. The Name of the Doctor is a wonderful episode, and defintely one of my favorites of all time, even without that last scene, but the opening of the Big Bang is some of the craziest, most inspired television I've ever seen. Add to that River shooting the Fez, and how can I not vote for it?
