In regards to the ACC, a couple changes that I think need to be made are

1. We need a "sprite zone" like the raptors have, a small section in the purples of cheap tickets for student that can get drunk and loud.

2. They really need to hire someone who can pump up a crowd, there was not a single time where an announcer or the jumbotron attempts to start a go leafs go. Just think of the kings and their gimmicky cartman "go kings go", it works, people need to be told what to do.

3. Suggesting they change beer prices seems silly because they never will, but something as simple as dropping the price of Tallboys to 10$ from 11.50 would make it so you didn't have to break bills, maybe offer cheaper beer before the game, it's an untapped market mlse!

I noticed they changed the centre ice adds along the benches after every period, they sure know how to manage their advertising revenue but have no clue on how to make a building get loud.

I guess Panik would get scooped, w.e put him in the press box and give Ashton a chance to go lay some hits, he doesn't need 10 goals.

Just what the doctor ordered... For a guy who has only seen 3 games at the ACC, I was quite fortunate to watch this live. Here's a few things I noticed

The Good

Kadri- played with purpose, was hard on the puck in the D zone and had lots of chances playing on the top line. Hopefully he can have similar efforts vs tough competition.

Frason- looked like a top pairing D man played incredibly calm, cool and collected. Very impressive.

Lupul- has been our best forward all year, he was on fire out of the gate. This guy is leading by example, well done Lupes.

Santorelli- Santo is the perfect 3c for us right now, plays with heart and grit. Winnik and Clarky also had great game.

Polak- his size and strength was obvious against the small sabres, single handedly ended plays in the D zone. Really hope it rubs off on the rest of the d core.

The Bad

Kessel- Phil is still Phil, but the guy was gassed after the second shift. He was hunched over and gliding a lot, clearly is not playing at the same level that saw him score 39. C'mon Phil.

Gardiner- he had a real shaky start, and it didn't get much better as the game went on. Multiple slip ups and turn overs, he did however seem to gain some confidence later in the game and scored a nice goal with his speed and patience. This kid needs to settle down and start to play a little more straight forward.

Robidas- the old man certainly didn't help Gardiner out very much, noticeable mistakes and some oddly timed hits. It's hard to criticize such an NHL veteran bud Robidas has been our worst D man and needs to get back in form.

Holland- had a shaky start aswell but got more comfortable as the game went on. I don't see the same player that got me excited last season, Carrick should be knocking on the door.

Panik- seriously this guy has done nothing to deserve playing over Frattin and Ashton, another poor showing from him. Hopefully it means a trip to the marlies after he clear waivers, which he will.

But wowza what a game! We did play Buffalo, but I'm glad to see the coaching staff finally changed things up and got a solid effort out of the group. Now if only we could get the ACC to be louder than a Sunday morning mass.... I swear it sounded like the puck was mic'd up for half the game.

@MaxwellHowe @cryptotho Well maybe someday MLSE will look at the win column and not ticket sales.

We are the hardest team to play for in the entire league, everyone in the NHL knows this, and no top FAs sign with us. Why would you want to play in front of such a shit audience, and get poked and prodded by media/fans all day.

Management needs to look at off ice issues as well as the multiple of on ice cluster fucks going on. From singing 37 yr old d men with 2 broken legs to 3 year deals and giving them letters or playing fucking "SHOTS SHOTS SHOTS" after a goal, its a fucking joke.

Some nights we see a good team though, I really think its hard to players in Toronto to perform under such scrutiny and pressure.. there is a reason why our home record is always so shit.

More than just the pressure is the atmosphere in the ACC, even when things are going well we have one of the quietest arenas in the league. Something that has persisted through multiple GM's, coaches and players is the shit atmosphere in the ACC. Something needs to be done about the corporate asshats staring at their cell phones, make a student section, maybe even cheaper beer so people get loud.

The crowd never gives the team any energy, and its quite clearly been detrimental over the years.

@ingy56 @B_Leaf Nonis has shown to be quite incompetent, with everything from the Bolland deal to Clarkson signing. Terrible contracts and short sighted trades, its looking everyday like this team is doomed to finish 10th in the east for the next 5 years.

He's gotta either blow it up or make a deal for a 1c and hopefully another top 4 D. This team is hilarious in its current state.

@ingy56 @mike_84 honestly we might aswell just send percy down, he's the odd man out of our 7 D.

Not saying he's our worst defender, but we cant sit gardiner polak or robidas, franson is playing well and dion is still dion.

Playing 7 D fucking infuriates me, goddammit randy

@Savo43 That logic is not applicable, he could quite easily have a higher % chance to get hurt if playing more minutes, you are just making an assumption.
That being said, obviously Kozun should have had more minutes but this is Randy Fucking Carlyle were talking about here

It would actually be beautiful to see Toronto commit to a rebuild, as I am unaware of any point in history where they did so.

The new NHL is about depth, you need to draft and develop good players.

That or fucking make a play at a 1c, enough of the middle of the pac bullshit

@docmma like little things like the Robidas A piss me off, obviously he is a vet and is gonna come in here and be an example for the young kids. But he is gonna do that anyways! Is this 37 yr old man with 2 broken legs gonna be a core building block of our team and deserving of an A? or is he just another quick fix with a letter slapped on him.

You just signed a guy to a 8x8 and hes the best player on your team by a mile, why arnt you putting the responsibility on HIM?

@docmma @cryptotho it speaks to incompetence and lack of foresight within the organization, like they are always making tweak plays in the present hoping it will give them a winner.

@docmma @cryptotho its the same story over and over, I point to things the Phaneuf getting the C when new to the team, Robidas now has an A after being here for few weeks. Reimer caries us to the playoffs and we reward him with the bench, our best center is bought out and best center prospect unloaded for nothing because we want to keep face punchers.

Everything about the leafs is ass backwards, I'm starting to really think we need to blow it up and make a play for the bottom of the standings, there is no better year to do it.
