I am also afraid that this is a test for a female Doctor. But if the Doctor regenerates into a woman I will deffinitely switch off. I like female heroines and enemies but gender is a part of the identity and if you change the identity he is not the same person anymore.

Exactly this. Simple and clear.

Excellent article. Totally agree.

I've always wanted Santa in Christmas special but never believed it will actually happen. Can't wait!

4 weeks, 1 day ago on Christmas Special: Santa is Real, Not Evil

Well, Matt Smith IS my favourite Doctor so far, but it wasn't the reason.

RTD finales were just too action oriented and megalomanical. Two alien invasions per year just didn't work for me. Also, there weren't any misteries or resolutions. Just fighting, saving the world and deux ex macchina. Series 1 finale was better but still average IMO

As for Dark Water, this gender change didn't work for me and I just can't see Missy and the Master as the same person. Also, the plot itself wasn't as good as previous seasons' finales were.

But, as I said, series 5 and 7 finales were brilliant.

So, here is my TOP 10:

1. Pandorica two-parter (10+/10)

2. Listen (10+/10)

4. Blink (10/10)

5. The Name of the Doctor (10/10)

6. Day of the Doctor (9/10)

10. The Girl in the Fireplace (8/10)

Pandorica and Name was magnificent, Wedding was ok, but all other finales were average or bad IMO.

Well, i wouldn't mind, but I don't see the point in changing TARDIS every season and a half. Eccleston and Tennant had the same TARDIS for 4 seasons + specials. And I think it is as it should be.

1 month ago on Capaldi Hoping for New TARDIS

Well, from in-character POV you might be right. But dw is a tv show that is watched by humans, so it should also follow human understanding of some basic values. I know, it is a sci fi show, but changing sex is still much bigger step than changing face.

Also, even if it is a social construct, it doesn't mean that it is a bad thing that must be rejected.

1 month, 2 weeks ago on Poll: The Missy Reveal

I don't like the idea that time lords can change sex. Regeneration is change of physical appearance. But sex is not just physical appearance. It is also part of identity. I really hope that she is lying. Otherwise it would be very nihilist view on gender/sex.

And I am not sexist. I like female enemies. I would also be angry if River regenerates into male. I just dislike the idea that regeneration can change sex because it is not the same character anymore. You changed his identity.

These are all great ideas for episodes. They don't necessarily have to be for halloween. I'd like to see all these stories in series 9 and 10. :D

Apart from Pandorica Opens, all of these episodes are either average or bad. Cybermen really need a proper story. Hopefully Dark Water will make them shine again.

I think that I will like this episode too. Series 8 is amazing - so many great episodes one after another.

1 month, 3 weeks ago on In the Forest of the Night Advance Review

It is sooo nice too see how people appreciate Listen and Mummy - my favorite episodes in this season. I am so hapy to see them on the top of the list. Although I think Into the Dalek is overrated. It is not bad but definitely the least good episode in this brilliant season.

1 month, 4 weeks ago on Your Verdict on Mummy & Episode Ranking

This looks like 'my type' of episode. Bizarre and fantasy oriented. Can't wait. Series 8 could be the best series so far.

I hate this 'go foward' arguments. DW is one show that lasts 50 years and that's why there must be reference to past and future every now and then. It is not easy to keep continuity for 50 years but they should at least try to do so by making references on old companions and resolving old (maybe forgotten) problems. Or making references on future events. That's the only way to keep continuity in such long show. Saying 'show must keep moving / go foward ' sounds like surrender.

7A is one of the worst parts of New Who IMO. It is too soapy and all episodes are more less forgottable. Nothing really stands out.

JTTCOTT 6/10

2 months, 3 weeks ago on Face-Off: The Thompson Episodes

First 35-40 minutes was a little bit boring, but the solution and time paradox was fantastic, one of the best solutions I've seen!

So, these are my ratings so far:

Listen 10+/10

Robot of Sherwood 8/10

Deep Breath = Time Heist 7/10

Into the Dalek 5/10

2 months, 3 weeks ago on Rate & Discuss Time Heist

Most of DW episodes are good. So when I am under the impression I rate them higher. Later (after 1-2 weeks) I can compare them with other episodes and rate them more realistically. Best examples are Christmas Carol and JTTCOT. After I watched them I rated them very high, but now I think they are at most average.

2 months, 3 weeks ago on Your Verdict on Listen & Episode Ranking

So true. I don't think it is a good idea to rate episodes immediately after watching because you are still under impression and it is still too fresh. It would be good idea to rate them after 2-3 weeks. These results would be much more realistic.

Although, Listen is soooo brilliant and I don't think I'll change my mind :).

2 months, 3 weeks ago on Your Verdict on Listen & Episode Ranking

It is nice to see that most people liked Listen. Brilliant episode. 10/10 is too low rating for such episode.

But I can't understand how is Into the Dalek better than Robot of Sherwood?

Sounds great. If you have a good and clever storyline, it could be a brilliant Christmas special.

3 months ago on Nick Frost Cast in Christmas Special

I liked it because it is about nightmares and fears we all had during childhood (and maybe even now). It is also creepy and have a good atmosphere. I just love stories about dreams and subconsciousness (I also liked Amy's choice).

Also it is original, bizarre (we need more bizarreness in DW IMO) and not too serious.

Firstly, I'd like to say that second half od the season Sounds much more interesting than first half (mummy, flatline and boyce's episode are three episodes that sound the best IMO) although first half Sounds great as well, espetially Moffat's episodes.

1. Deep Breath

2. Listen

3. Into the Dalek

4. Time Heist

5. Robot Of Sherwood

6. The Caretaker

4 months ago on Poll: Your Most Anticipated Series 8 Story (Eps 1-6)

I think that series and a half is enough for a companion, but I'd also like her to make guest apperances during following years, like Rose and Martha did. Just because companion left the TARDIS, it doesn' t mean she should disappear from the show. Ideally, traveling on TARDIS should be just introduction to the character, just a beginning. :)

4 months ago on Jenna Coleman Leaving at Christmas?

Here is mine:

  • ‘The Bells of Saint John’ – 7/10
  • ‘The Rings of Akhaten’ – 9/10
  • ‘Cold War’ – 3/10
  • ‘Hide’ – 10/10
  • ‘Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS’ – 6/10
  • ‘The Crimson Horror’- 4/10
  • ‘Nightmare in Silver’ – 6/10

Average is 5, so these are very good results (for example, 6/10 episodes are above average).

Fires of Pompeii from Capaldi's POV. That would be a great chance to see Tenth Doctor, Twelfth Doctor (chameleon arch), Donna and Amy (pretending to be a Soothsayer) together. If they somehow include also Martha, Doctor's Daughter Jenny, Eleventh Doctor and Simm's Master (or Silence) as a villan, 10th anniversary would be complete. That's how I see this anniversary. :)

5 months ago on Will There Be a 10th Anniversary Special for the Revival?

As Moffat once said, it should all be story-driven. So, if you have a great story for Daleks, bring them back, if not, don't. Too often, they brought Daleks/Cybermen back for the sake of bringing them back (especially during RTD era). This usually results in poor story. So, I do not mind appearance of the Daleks, but only if you have a good story for them.

Although, it is still better not to overuse anyone. For example, River Song could be a good recurring character, but she was overused during season 6, and now nobody wants her to appear again. DW need recurring characters and enemies that will appear every 2-3 years, but never be overused.

5 months, 2 weeks ago on Are the Big Enemies Being Overused?

Doctor Who should be both - dark and 'childish'. The point is in balance. It should be sth like a dark fairy tale.

5 months, 3 weeks ago on Should Doctor Who Adopt a Darker Tone?

‘The Wedding of River Song’ – 6/10
