I think Royce pointed this out a couple of weeks ago when Westbrook went down, but similar to the Heat I think that installing a traditional system would be crippling the offensive talents of Westbrook and Durant. There is a system its, put the ball in the hands of our two best players and let the defense collapse, spoelstra is widely regarded as some sort of genius for installing an almost identical system, brooks had been doing that at least a year earlier. The only difference is durant is not lebron and we don't have as good of shooters. I truly believe this system will pay off. Westbrook Durant will end there careers as one of the best tandems of all time and we will get a title eventually and we should get a couple. Remeber that we are 4 years younger than the heat big 3.
@f5alcon @ElMexiThunder Who is ElMexiThunder and why does he have the inside line to every thunder player and their families? seems odd to me...........
To be completely honest, I thought harden's talents were being wasted as a third option, and I knew he would thrive just as he has in his number one role. However, I think it's ridiculous to even think he might be better than Westbrook. Westbrook in my opinion is like a mix between kobe and a mini lebron. I think he's got the highest ceiling in the league. Maybe I'm crazy but the guy is an incredible talent with an even more incredible work ethic and competitive drive. When he and durant are 28 and in there prime this team is going to be doing similar things to what the heat are doing now.
@Legendary_Dork Haha I think we will all cry, as we have watched this team grow exponentially each year, this is our year. I love harden as much as the next guy, but (gulp) I think this trade worked out for the best.
@Lamb Fries (AKA Bry Bry) @PerkPunt I wanna see 50-60 from KD at the garden. And I kind of believe KD has this game in the back of his mind
Its pretty much a staple as an OKC fan, but damn do I hate how immensely people continue to sleep on Westbrook. Once he slides that ring on his finger in the ceremony next season (yeah we will win it this year.), people will be drooling over him. Mark my words. Preaching to the choir I know, but I just had to blow off some steam after not seeing a single analyst choose him as #1 in that 5--5
Id love to have love, I cant believe you guys are comparing him to howard I think everything love said was justifiable. And I think love is a top 10 player in this league. However, I think ibakas ceiling is too high to let go at the age of 23. And if we were some how able to keep ibaka in all of this, there just wouldn't be enough shots to go around. I think we stay with what we have until perks contract is up, then we either let him go or resign him for a bench spot and less money. At which point we add a defensive minded and tough center similar to perk with just a little more athleticism and offensive capability
@sammasaaron Yeah, I also like the way that presti seems to always be patient with these things. I'd like to hang on to lamb too, aside from perks defense on the 2 or 3 legit low post players though he leaves soo much to be desired. Would be cool if that rockets pick turned into someone like nerlens noel though wouldnt it?
@HerseyHawkins This could be true, maybe in our organization he wouldnt be such a douche though
what does everyone think about the possibility of us really making a run at gortat? In a deadline trade that involves lamb and/or martin perk and a pick or two? I think it would make us significantly better, however im not sure how realistic it really is, thoughts?

@SB718 I completely agree they're playing their game, and they beat us with it last night. However, I thought we played very poorly, and durant was the only reason we had a chance in the first place. We can't continue to assume durant is going to save us in the fourth with 15+ points. we've got to play better from the start, and we have to move the ball and make the extra pass. That being said I've been extremely impressed with our mental toughness throughout the playoffs, and am confident we will bounce back in game 3.
@SoCal Thunder Definitely jealous, hoping I get a chance soon to get out to OKC for a game. Preferably in the playoffs. ThunderUp
@kdub lol this is hurtful, im from cali but ive been bleeding thunder blue and using thunderup since 08 the first time I watched westbrook and durant play. Hopefully I can get out there and enjoy a game in the arena with the rest of my fellow thunder fam! You guys do an awesome job at the peake cant wait to join!
Yesterday I brought up that miami game, where we moved the ball so well, and I think we played pretty close to that last night. Watching us make that extra pass nearly every time was a thing of beauty, especially Russ who finally on an off shooting night decided to show the league that he can pass with the best of em'. Great game all around, great effort, and great focus. If we can keep that up, no one will beat us.
@anonymous12345 we continue to play defense like that, and play with effort like that we wont lose
