@Mother Teresa @King Russ Well I mean he definitely always indicated he wanted to stay in interviews, to me it always just kind of sounded like that was al he was trying to do was say the right things so he didn't mess with the current good situation a la Reggie this year.

@Mother Teresa @King Russ Not exactly I just don't think harden was ever going to stay whether he was traded or left in FA.
@Sustainable Parameters @King Russ @f5alcon But in theory he could have rejected both and went to FA, correct?
@f5alcon @King Russ So that means he's forced to accept our contract over Houston's?
I have a question about something thats been just eating at me. I'd like to hear DT's input, and maybe even Royces if I'm lucky. Does anyone here actually think that, even if we could have offered Harden the exact same contract as Houston, that Harden stays? Because in my opinion it was more about him wanting to be the star and lead his own team. Which I believe that he deserves, and I don't fault him for it. To me it just wasn't as much about the money as everyone makes it out to be. Sorry that Chris Webber rant was just so ignorant.
Just saw that Russ has a PER of over 31, I feel so robbed of watching him without Durant in November.

@okcjim @King Russ Thanks but I was hoping to see some of his highlights from the past few games
Is there any highlights of steven adams this preseason?
Durant might have the best crossover in the league, which is insane considering his size and where his ball handling was 3-4 years ago

@Perk-Punt @El Prez Because our bench is dope, we know what we have in our starters, shit theyre capable of matching the heat themselves, just hasn't happened yet. But our bench development is an exciting thing to watch this year
1 year, 3 months ago on Thursday Bolts – 12.12.13
@El Prez like you said lebron is gonna abuse everybody he has no weakness he can counter anything you throw at him. I was merely suggesting that we have this new guy PJ3 who we could throw at him and at least try to match some of that size athleticism combo. Im saying what if brooks told PJ just go out and stay in front of him. Dont worry about anything else, just stay in front of lebron at all times. give him 12 mins of that 15-20 of KD, and then maybe a little Ibaka. It could be semi effective.
@[corporate shill] @okcjim @ Luke Defending lebron is our problem, He is the catalyst of that offense if you double him its over, gotta find a way to slow him down with one on one defense.
@El Prez @KellOne @f5alcon @Lokedogg @d21 @exclamatory remark I'm pretty confident in our abilities to beat indiana, its Indiana beating Miami I don't see happening.
@f5alcon @Lokedogg @d21 @El Prez @exclamatory remark haha that would be nice, but I don't theres even a remote chance the pacers get past the heat in seven games, barring injuries to bron, wade or bosh.
@d21 @El Prez @exclamatory remark I agree we've just got a find a way to slow him down with out doubling him. Their ball movement and 3 pointers kill us. I think we need to deploy that length line up on them and rotate KD, Ibaka, And PJ one on one with Bron. That length may be able to disrupt some of their passing
@king of carrot flowers Yeah probably not, I don't see why not though. We should try it in the regular season. We have never been able to even come close to slowing him down. We might as well just rotate our 4 best defenders on him and see what happens. Probably won't happen though I agree.
What're the chances we throw PJ out on lebron and see how it goes?
@Perk-Punt @Archaeon @MrRaysian Yeah I agree with whats being said. I think lamb is certainly capable of handling the ball, it'll come more with confidence I think. However, realize our system revolves around insanely good ball handlers, but you need player who can move without the ball to offset that regardless. If our closing lineup can develop with russ and reggie as the main ball handlers, plus some KD obviously, and Ibaka and Lamb flanked out ready too shoot I think that we are deadly. I could see lamb developing as a great fit, 14-16 a night and happy with the role. All those ball handlers driving to the rim creates space on the perimeter for lamb and ibaka to get wide open jump shots.

@[corporate shill] @Lokedogg I agree our team is not set up for him, but it wasnt really set up great for harden either. This is what worries me. I just think when lambs playing with confidence, which it seems hes been doing all year, hes got a great offensive skill set. I like the thompson comparison though. However overall I like lambs ceiling more.
Jeremy Lamb will eventually reach harden-esque levels, kinda reminds me of a reggie miller, just such smooth textbook offense. So stoked watching our young talent develop
@Quetzalcoatl @Lokedogg probably not less than KD, but yeah I understand that its just why are we still complaining about the same thing we've been complaining about for the last three or four years, we know what we have in russ, and we now know what we have without him. He has improved his control and decision making every year. The guy is just so competitive (kobe-esque) that he sometimes get lost in the game. I can't justify faulting him for that. You can just see how badly he wants to win in the effort hes putting out.
1 year, 3 months ago on Thunder fail late in Portland, 111-104
@Zach99 @Lokedogg I mean yeah I watched the game as well, we all know that these types of games will happen with Russ so what it's one game in december. When playoffs come around hell be in control and in prime form as he has been for the last three years. Just let the man play ball.
Man I didn't think I was ever going to have to see all this Westbrook hate again.
I think Royce pointed this out a couple of weeks ago when Westbrook went down, but similar to the Heat I think that installing a traditional system would be crippling the offensive talents of Westbrook and Durant. There is a system its, put the ball in the hands of our two best players and let the defense collapse, spoelstra is widely regarded as some sort of genius for installing an almost identical system, brooks had been doing that at least a year earlier. The only difference is durant is not lebron and we don't have as good of shooters. I truly believe this system will pay off. Westbrook Durant will end there careers as one of the best tandems of all time and we will get a title eventually and we should get a couple. Remeber that we are 4 years younger than the heat big 3.

To be completely honest, I thought harden's talents were being wasted as a third option, and I knew he would thrive just as he has in his number one role. However, I think it's ridiculous to even think he might be better than Westbrook. Westbrook in my opinion is like a mix between kobe and a mini lebron. I think he's got the highest ceiling in the league. Maybe I'm crazy but the guy is an incredible talent with an even more incredible work ethic and competitive drive. When he and durant are 28 and in there prime this team is going to be doing similar things to what the heat are doing now.

2 years, 3 months ago on Thursday Bolts - 12.20.12
@Legendary_Dork Haha I think we will all cry, as we have watched this team grow exponentially each year, this is our year. I love harden as much as the next guy, but (gulp) I think this trade worked out for the best.
@Lamb Fries (AKA Bry Bry) @PerkPunt I wanna see 50-60 from KD at the garden. And I kind of believe KD has this game in the back of his mind
Its pretty much a staple as an OKC fan, but damn do I hate how immensely people continue to sleep on Westbrook. Once he slides that ring on his finger in the ceremony next season (yeah we will win it this year.), people will be drooling over him. Mark my words. Preaching to the choir I know, but I just had to blow off some steam after not seeing a single analyst choose him as #1 in that 5--5
Id love to have love, I cant believe you guys are comparing him to howard I think everything love said was justifiable. And I think love is a top 10 player in this league. However, I think ibakas ceiling is too high to let go at the age of 23. And if we were some how able to keep ibaka in all of this, there just wouldn't be enough shots to go around. I think we stay with what we have until perks contract is up, then we either let him go or resign him for a bench spot and less money. At which point we add a defensive minded and tough center similar to perk with just a little more athleticism and offensive capability

@PerkPunt That would be a nice piece, dont know what wed give up for him though
@sammasaaron that raptors pick, rather
@sammasaaron Yeah, I also like the way that presti seems to always be patient with these things. I'd like to hang on to lamb too, aside from perks defense on the 2 or 3 legit low post players though he leaves soo much to be desired. Would be cool if that rockets pick turned into someone like nerlens noel though wouldnt it?
@HerseyHawkins This could be true, maybe in our organization he wouldnt be such a douche though
what does everyone think about the possibility of us really making a run at gortat? In a deadline trade that involves lamb and/or martin perk and a pick or two? I think it would make us significantly better, however im not sure how realistic it really is, thoughts?
@SB718 I completely agree they're playing their game, and they beat us with it last night. However, I thought we played very poorly, and durant was the only reason we had a chance in the first place. We can't continue to assume durant is going to save us in the fourth with 15+ points. we've got to play better from the start, and we have to move the ball and make the extra pass. That being said I've been extremely impressed with our mental toughness throughout the playoffs, and am confident we will bounce back in game 3.

Yesterday I brought up that miami game, where we moved the ball so well, and I think we played pretty close to that last night. Watching us make that extra pass nearly every time was a thing of beauty, especially Russ who finally on an off shooting night decided to show the league that he can pass with the best of em'. Great game all around, great effort, and great focus. If we can keep that up, no one will beat us.

@anonymous12345 this is awesome
@SB718 2 thoughts on that... #1 I really do believe harden and Ibaka both would be willing to take a discount. And while I truly believe that harden will become the best 2 guard in the league within the next couple of years I dont think hes earned a max contract yet.
2 years, 10 months ago on Thunder battle back but drop Game 2 to go down 0-2, 120-111
I think were all making some crazy suggestions just because were being beat by a team playing as close to perfect as possible. Like royce mentioned, parker made everything, and that dagger that manu hit was just ridiculous. Lets be honest, we are all spoiled to be fans of a team that we have watched grow up together and that has 3 bonafide all stars and possibly a 4th in ibaka all under the age of 23, plus a coach thats been here the whole time and is still learning. We often say were the best bounce back team in basketball, and we reserve the right to say that based on the evidence. IF we lose to the spurs this year, we will bounce back next year and our guys will continue to work as hard as anybody in the league. Are we really ready to give up on Ibaka because of one bad offensive game, what he does on defense is huge for this team. (Perk is a whole different story as much as i appreciate his low post 1 on 1 defense) But we have all seen the signs of what Ibaka may be able to do offensively as he continues to grow. I think its also possible brooks has continued to stick with his Iso based offense because we have 3 of the best iso players in the league. And for those who are saying that he has improved nothing as a coach, how about defensive rotations? because those look a lot better this year than they did last. I think next year the ball movement will improve dramatically, brooks knows that and i think our team knows that, this is an extremely smart and hardworking group of guys. Anyone remember the ball movement in that miami heat game a month or so ago? Shows this team is plenty capable. Lost in the potential we all see on the horizon is the time it takes to grow and gain experience. Lets continue to support our squad, while we know they will continue to work their asses off for us. In the meantime we can all dream about when our core 4 is 25 or 26. Who gon stop us heeeh?
