I didn't think Nadal would make it to the Wimbledon final this year and I don't think Roger will win the gold. We'll see though.
So glad this is over. Good, great job! Now can we move on to something else?
@fed0011 Oh yes, and it's so much more important how the fans see the ball on TV as compared to how the players are able to play on the surface.
That's so awesome that you met Serena and got to know her well enough to hate her! @@ Seriously, how can you "hate" someone you never met? Why would you waste such a powerful emotion on an athlete?
@promiscuous No one but Nadal and Djokovic refused to play there next year but A LOT of players complained.....some were just listened to and had their views repeated more than others. Personally, I hope Nadal skips the tournament regardless of the color of the clay.
Watch the video.....the man was sitting RIGHT there! He may not have actually kicked him, may not have intended to hurt him but it was obvious that his temper would be felt in some way by the line judge.
@martins take He has not been charged with assault yet.
The panel he kicked was directly in front of the sitting human he injured. He had to have seen the man.
@Wex Novak was not less than a foot away from any person who might have been injured due to his rant and property destruction. Why can't people see the difference? I do not like Novak but I don't believe any other action needs to be taken after his "show of emotion." It is not even comparable to what DN did and I am a HUGE DN fan.
It's like all the men going out early in Queens last week.
@pwal24 I hope he does but I just don't see it happening. I don't think he likes all the travel and he won't really need to anymore since Rafa shares the wealth.
@oscarpaclibare @Jessee Why is Nadal being brought into this conversation? He NEVER reacts in anger on court......no smashing, no broken rackets, no kicking parts of the court, no throwing things. You may not like him but he does not deserve a mention here except as an example for how an athlete should behave on court.
The only posts I may "attack" the poster in are directed to Kelly, who drives me nutz and you, today. Usually I stay on topic. And now, I'm done with both of you......for today! It's not productive. But then, none of what's on here is very productive. Oh well.
It's been said time and time again...........Novak DID get a warning and a fine. But, he did not even come close to injuring another human. This is a totally different case and I am definitely NOT a Novak fan but the comments comparing the two incidents are ridiculous.
@Shawn The Tennis Mahn @TopSpin But the man was sitting less than a foot inside that box. It was not a permanent structure. Maybe he didn't know it would break but that was far too close to a human to take the chance. Not a good defense.
He may not have intended for the box to break apart but he should have been aware that the linesman was sitting inside the box he kicked making it much more likely that some sort of injury would occur.
@marthacampbell Another post where you only put down the person writing and have no opinion on the story. Typical.
