@Lost Ones You going by production or perceived value?

From a pure basketball sense I'd take beard as a #1 over Pierce, Iggy, and Horford.  But can't disagree too much otherwise.  Trouble is you get players like Gordon, Hibbert, and JJ on maxes...

Haven't been hear since exit interviews (and B13ard's trade); I see the traffic volume has really blown up.  That being said, is the "screw (insert worse expletive here) the opposing team's mascot thing" still going to be a gameday appearance?

Haven't been here since exit interviews, but this lack of basketball coverage has been really frustrating. My question: why aren't any of these preliminary games on NBC? You'd think that as the overwhelming powerhouse of American sports, Olympic basketball is basically the biggest draw for viewers.

@SB718 Oh I see - I'm more apt to call it our "athletic" lineup then.  Russ, Harden/Sef (Sef more athletic, but Harden for basketball reasons), KD, PJ3, Ibaka.  I don't think ANY team in the league can out run or get more hands into more passing lanes than that five.

@Jooseppi  @thelaughingwiseman That point where all the national media say we rely on jump shooting?  At some time that is going to be true (guess when that is....?) even if it's a small sample and/or statistical deviation from our good true shooting % and efficiency.  When that negative deviation does happen (hmmm... against an elite Miami defense?), what do we turn to?

I have yet to be impressed by a consecutive run of offensive possessions that have been actual plays.

Good to see NBA posted the intro video.  Shout out to the dedicated posters in here who taped it/dug it up.

Otherwise, did I see a Russell Westbrook top 10 for this year in some recent post?  Would anybody be able to direct me to that thread or repost the link?  Thanks in advance!

@MostJadedGamer I think the argument all along is that Westbrook doesn't need to be a "true PG" in order for our offense to work.  While that's been true for most of this season, these past two weeks of performances have shown that you ultimately do need someone to just run the team, especially with the clipboard full of "PLAY HARD" thrown at you by Brooks after every time out.

Look at Chris Paul: one semi-skilled offensive player (Blake), one non-skilled player who is good at dunking and rebounding (DJ), one shooter (Foye/Young/Williams), and another semi-competent player (Butler).  His coach is just as bad, his plays are just as bad, yet he runs that team during crunch time.  I think the Clippers commentators today said he has made the most crunch time shots in the last few years, and you don't make the most by taking impossible shots like Kobe.

Compare with our crunch time set: Durant (I heard that guy can score?), Harden (better than Butler), Ibaka/Perk (=DJ), and who is our 5th?  Collison sometimes, Fish sometimes, Thabo sometimes, but I actually think it should be Cook.

What does Westbrook do?  He pounds and pounds and gets a jumper off or pounds and pounds and waits for Durant to get into position, at which point it becomes Durant vs his defender and whatever help his defender gets.  We need one of three things:

1. Get real plays (what happened to our back screen skip pass or DC14 curl?)

2. Westbrook evolves into someone who can properly run a team (I don't think that's going to happen this season... period)

3. Tell Russ and KD to suck up their pride and give James the ball and let him do his thing.

Thanks, that's a start!  However, is that the only way?  There still isn't any way to access any entries if there isn't one of the same type on the front-page.  I don't suppose it's too much to hope for something along the lines of a straight archive, with cached entries, kind of like nested topics in a forum? =D

Do we have any way of accessing the archives via search or a menu selection at the top?  I was looking for this week's podcast yesterday (since it's usually on Sundays) not knowing that it hadn't been recorded yet.  I clicked back a few pages on the main page looking for it, but this would be much easier if there was some direct way to access all the entries for a specific 'type' of post - e.g. pre-games, podcasts, Saturday morning cartoons, etc.

If some type of system is already in here can someone tell me how to access it?  If not, I think this would be a great update for the site Royce!

Most of that team just isn't arsed though - they need to assess the best fit with a full training camp and a new coach, although I think you might be right about Lin.  At least we got to witness greatness, er Linsanity, while it lasted.

@Old Man Game I've been a lurker here for a while (I even directly emailed Royce before!) but I think you are selling that Knicks roster short.  They have a legitimately deep and threatening team with the exception of some depth with the bigs.  Lin and Davis are serviceable to above average point guards and there is some serious wing depth with Fields, Melo, Shumpert, Novak (assuming JR leaves next year).

None of those players are horrible defensively besides Novak (although you could say that Melo and Davis are terrible because they aren't motivated).  The problem comes with Amare's decaying corpse, but having the second best defensive big man in the game will cover that up a little bit.  Who do they have after Jeffries?  Regardless, that's some serious offensive firepower and depth coming back next year assuming they can lock up Lin and make another defensive veteran move or two.

And Phil started his career with the Knicks and I'm sure would want to bring it full circle (and undoubtedly cement his place as the greatest coach ever because every single New Yorker would proclaim its veracity)
