Interesting article Lassen, with all of the DA Raids the 75th has been doing in Afghanistan, I completely overlooked their conventional function as Light-Infantry. I think it goes without saying that for the strike package, you'd want either conventional Air Force fighters or Naval Aviation parked offshore as well. It wouldn't be popular, but I'm in full-support of SOCOM deployments in this country, with maybe a Marine MEU as a QRF.
While I see where you are coming from. I disagree. In my town, there are multiple 18th-Century small Cemeteries that are constantly trashed, vandalized and ridden through on dirt-bikes, town won't do anything but I digress. I think that act is heinous. LEAVE THE DEAD ALONE. To be buried in Arlington National Cemetery, you must have served your country in the most dangerous profession on this earth. When you disturb the the peace in which those souls EARNED and FOUGHT for, you are deserving of what consequences you get. Don't get me wrong, I am not discounting the crimes these shit-head kids commit locally. First Amendment wise, this should be legal, that being said, own up to and accept the punishment brought on by the people. 'Cause guess what. just as brave Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsman EARNED their right for a place in Arlington, you earned your termination of employment. I don't support the Military "blindly", yet it is near and dear to my heart and personal, if I had a family member who died of second-hand smoke, then I would be more pissed than I am right now about the no smoking sign, which I am angry. Oh, and just as Ranger-Up has said on the issue (Ranger-Up Nation, spearheaded the effort to have her fired), "Freedom of Speech works both ways". Don't mock the Troops who give you the RIGHT to mock them.
While I can see where the idea of "recruitment video" comes from, I think it is a stretch. All Special Operations have been feeling a "push" from the top-down to expand. Special Operations doesn't want to expand too much, because of the fact that if you grow too much, you're not Special anymore. The "push" is coming from pretty far up too, not internal to the NSW Community, not even internal to the US Navy. Additionally, Almost all SEALs, Rangers, Green Berets, etc. don't want media attention either. They work in the shadows. Probably one of the only reasons the Act of Valor Crew was given such unprecedented access to the Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Community, is because they were using actual SEAL and SWCC Operators. I think it is appalling that civilian movie makers were given access to the highly-sensitive world of Tier 1 Operations to make movies on the subject of UBL. However, I don't blame any political party or administration, I blame who's fault it is, and we don't know who, nor will he/she get prosecuted. Just my thoughts.
P.S. The Hurt Locker was a good movie, but DEFINITELY had it's inaccuracies.
@JackMurphyRGR @LauraWalkerKC If this get sorted out Positively with no UCMJ (Does CIA Follow that?) then definitely Petraeus 2012! But if it's his fault then NO. What ever happened to those reports- that said he was coming clean on his own accord?
This pisses me off period. I'm angry that it happened. I think Broadwell's retarded. I hate everyone for betraying Petraeus and am disappointed in him for conduct unbecoming of an Officer. As ACS said, it is now just one Charlie-Foxtrot with all of these connections. On top of that I'm pissed at the media for reporting it, and yet they still didn't give me enough information to even see where I stand. Not to mention, I JUST FREAKIN' FINISHED ALL-IN 1 DAY AND A HALF- BEFORE IT ALL CAME OUT! I don't know if I can Ranger-Up and Embrace The Suck on this one, this is just eerie.

Scarpa Kailash GTX's are phenomenal as well. More Tactical Colors than the Asolos as well. I love my Scarpas. Very true on the insoles, I've heard that from a number of people but haven't gotten around to picking them up.

Isn't Voodoo Tactical meant mainly for Airsofters? I see it at local Airsoft Shops. I'm almost positive it is on the same page as Condor and Pantac making crappy China made kit out of mil-spec materials and with sub-par stitching. It certainly doesn't show the price you'd expect from even used products from the great manufacturers like Eagle, First Spear and Tactical Tailor. Scarpas and Corcorans are the best boots I've used. I so want a Satu and Dua.

I forget where I read it, but the article said that the Air Force didn't have "concealing abilities" listed as a top priority for the ABU. They also requested "Air Force Blue" lettering on the name tapes, what the hell! The UCP, ABU and NWU patterns suck! MARPAT is great, AOR1 and AOR2 are great and OCP/Multicam is also great. Let's not forget the other great patterns like A-TACS too. I also love Vietnam Tiger Stripe for Jungles as well. As other people have said before, if there is a Sailor overboard, then you're gonna want to see them as clear as day. The Navy just copied the Marine Corps and the Army (who copied the Marines) by adopting a Digital Pattern and ripped off the Devil Dogs even more by incorporating their symbol called the "A.C.E." (Anchor, Constitution and Eagle) into the Uniform like the Marines do with their EGA (Eagle, Globe and Anchor). If the Navy REALLY wanted to improve the Working Uniform, then they should've incorporated SOLAS Reflective Tape that is Coverable into it. Personally, I think Crye Precision could've come up with a unique Garrison Uniform for all the Services jam packed with features (but then they wouldn't adopt it). Lastly, let's not forget about about the Coast Guard here, they can barely finance a new Cutter and while they "Improved" their ODU (Operation Dress Uniform), their Uniform for TACLETs, MSSTs and PSUs are hand-me-downs from their big brothers in the form of old DCUs and BDUs when they should be given a more "Tactical" Uniform in the form of G3s, PCU Level 9s or something similar. http://soldiersystems.net/2012/03/19/bad-cammies/
