I feel like we haven't given enough credit to the guy who comes up with the labels for 10/10 and 1/10. Bravo, whoever you are.

I'm sorry but I cannot get behind you on the George argument. He was horrendous. I don't know how anyone can defend that as an excellent performance. Agree with the general feeling of the article however. Excellent writing.

Hard choice. Went with Flatline. Mathieson is awesome.

9/10. Very very happy to have Jamie Mathieson as part of the Doctor Who family after the last two fantastic episodes he has churned out.

We haven't had a single episode under 7.5. This is honestly AMAZING. Series 8 is chalking up to be the best yet

Matt Smith's performance during The Long Song was something really special. Gonna miss his Doctor. What a talent
2 weeks, 3 days ago on Who Tunes: Ranking the Lyrical Songs of Doctor Who
Should be interesting to see if Jamie Mathieson is the real deal, or if Mummy was just an exceptionally good episode for his standard. If Flatline has a similar quality, I would be thrilled.

Worst to Best
6/10 Deep Breath
7/10 Into The Dalek
7.5/10 Robots of Sherwood
8/10 Time Heist
8/10 The Caretaker
8/10 Kill the Moon
8/10 Mummy on the Orient Express
As you can see, I immensely enjoy every episode, but I'm still waiting for that one that will go down as my favorite
2 weeks, 5 days ago on Rate & Discuss Mummy on the Orient Express
Guys, the BBC could hardly afford to have him in a single episode, let alone be a recurring character like the Master or Rassilon. If he were to ever appear, it would be one off. He's a busy guy.

@ Notsosmartguy After the response, I doubt it will happen. I wish it weren't the case, but they're gonna want to simply separate themselves from the creature.
3 weeks ago on Poll: Lights On or Lights Off?
I agreed with everything except for the science part. I think that a new born alien laying an egg that is bigger than itself seconds after it is born is a good reason to decrease an episodes rating. It took me right out of the episode at the most critical part and made me laugh at how ridiculous it is. However, every other aspect of this article rings true for me. I don't think expectations should take a toll on your personal rating of the episode. Watch the episode for what it is.
For me, it is not even the fact the moon was an egg. I liked that, in fact. I just couldn't handle another egg being in it's place 15 seconds later, laid by the new born.

@MJJ @Pipnant I think you're taking his comment entirely the wrong way. Trying to find something offensive in something that just isn't. At all.

Seems like this one will be a VERY close poll. Exciting.
4 weeks, 1 day ago on Face-Off: Gareth Roberts’ Episodes
@The Genie I think that it is being given unfair opportunity, since it is one of only three episodes not of Netflix! Not enough people have gotten to see it in all its glory!
Never realized how many fantastic pieces we have gotten from Gareth Roberts! Here is my list.
1. Shakespeare Code
2. The Lodger
3. The Caretaker
4. Planet of the Dead
5. The Unicorn and the Wasp
6. Closing Time
The best part is, I don't dislike ANY of them
@Antee991166 @TheMysticalFez @Lord Styro the Drashig It hadn't been released yet, that's why it was so perfect! He was saying he read it in the future.
@TheGloamglozer I think the point was that it was unbeatable by conventional means. He wasn't going to destroy the world in one blow, he was going to kill everyone one by one.
1 month ago on 2nd Opinion: The Caretaker
Hard to choose between Kill the Moon and the Finale, but cmon... It's the finale. How can you not look forward to it?

Easy. Time Heist.
1 month, 1 week ago on Face-Off: The Thompson Episodes
I'm a hard core Whovian and I actually agree with Time Heist topping Listen. I feel like Listen tried a bit too hard to be the episode of the year. I could feel Moffat trying. Not a quality I look for in my episodes.

One of my favorite aspects of the show is to speculate future companions. The Doctor can only change so much. The companion is always a mystery. Excellent.
1 month, 3 weeks ago on Taking a ‘Journey’ Into the Future: The Next Companion
Great article. Well written. Couldn't disagree more, however. I think the inclusion of Robin Hood was BRILLIANT. It also allowed for SO much character development in both the Doctor and Clara. To each their own
1 month, 3 weeks ago on Robot of Sherwood Review
I have a feeling I will be an outlier in this, but I thought it was PHENOMENAL. Not just good. GREAT. Thoroughly enjoyed this weeks episode. 9/10.
1 month, 3 weeks ago on Rate & Discuss Robot of Sherwood
This is a bit unfair. Dalek is one of the greatest episodes of the modern series. It doesn't mean Into The Dalek wasn't good.
1 month, 3 weeks ago on Face-Off: Dalek vs Into the Dalek
I LOVED it. Renewed my faith in the possibility of good Dalek stories. Not perfect, but 9/10.
1 month, 4 weeks ago on Rate & Discuss Into the Dalek
@MrRazza, General Rogue Timelord Identifier I was not against the darker Doctor, but I did find it to be less dark than I expected. There were some moments that were very dark, but he was also EXTREMELY funny. He also had a lot of redeeming moments to his darkness, like saving Clara after leaving here.
2 months, 1 week ago on Rate & Discuss Deep Breath
Besides the questionable direction, I really did enjoy it. Capaldi is fantastic and gives me no doubt that I will enjoy his take on the character. Not perfect, but it has me very excited about the rest of the series. Not thrilled with Ben Wheatley's directing. Some very amateur shots.
@Scootersfood @angelusnathan I thought that was a cheesy call back to be honest. I kinda rolled my eyes at that part. I did enjoy the episode as a whole though.
What haunts the Doctor? A lot. But I bet not being able to save Davros is up there. Could be him.
2 months, 1 week ago on Moffat Teases “Major Foe” For Series 8
You may be onto something! Titles are very else thought out. That can't just be a coincidence.
2 months, 2 weeks ago on Series 8: All Titles Revealed
I leave for college here in the states the day before Deep Breath premieres. This will be a special series. It'll help me cope.
Fair point though.
I'm talking strictly NuWho. I have watched quite a lot of classic who, but not enough to claim something like that.
I'm glad the BBC said that. I'd like an exit to be a surprise for once. When we know which episode a companion is leaving, we just watch and wonder, "is she going to die or just leave?" That takes out the surprise.
2 months, 2 weeks ago on Jenna Coleman Leaving at Christmas?
Death in Heaven might be the best finale title ever. SO excited. Also, can't wait for Listen. Maybe it's ridiculous, but I love all episodes with one word titles. They're almost always behind the couch scary. (Dalek, Midnight, Utopia, Blink, Hide). Only one I haven't been fond of was Gridlock.
It must be said... That's not the most flattering picture of Capaldi they could have used.
2 months, 2 weeks ago on DWM #477: Peter Capaldi
Are you even reading my response? I'm not arguing that Capaldi isn't 13. You're making yourself look rather clueless
2 months, 2 weeks ago on Is Doctor Who History Repeating Itself?
Why would you call Capaldi 13 but still call Matt 11 and call David 10? That makes zero sense.
@NewWho2012 @Arkleseizure That is correct. They wouldn't let him leave, because no one was coming out of the woodwork to take the job due to the low ratings, and JNT didn't want the show cancelled.
@treker68 Do you mean 12? Or are you saying 13 because of War? In which case 10 would be 11 and 11 would be 12.
Sorry to bother, but I figured I would check in about my article "The Day of the Doctor: A Different Perspective" since it's been about two months now. I won't be offended if you changed your mind and decided not to post it, I'd just like to know. I know that once Series 8 gets here it'll have even less of a chance of getting published since there is so much else to cover.
2 months, 2 weeks ago on Write for Doctor Who TV
I commented on this a while back! It's really remarkably similar. Not to mention, both Colin and Capaldi were in previous episodes as different characters before returning to the role, AND they both share a name (first or last) with a previous Doctor, being the only two to have done so. Spooky. But Capaldi's costume ROCKS!
I don't think some of the people preaching positivity quite understand where people are coming from when they say they disagree with the series. His writing is superb. The analysis he offers is always a joy to read. His positivity is to be admired. But the point of rating things is to see how it compares to other things of similar nature (in this case other episodes of who). That's why it's a little silly to rate everything 10/10 in my opinion. Why include the ratings at all? Why not just make it an article detailing his thoughts sans the ratings? It makes the rating system pointless. It adds no insight into the quality of the episode because there is no differentiation. Looking at his ratings alone, you can't tell which episodes he would call the best and which he would say were lacking in certain areas. If I were to give any advice to the series, I wouldn't say tone down the positivity, I would suggest to simply omit the ratings. Please just try to understand where people are coming from before you bash them being negative, and tell them to stop watching the show.
