I am all for signing DHB. Signing him would take pressure off signing a WR in the first round of the draft to enable us to take the best player available.

With the Bengals having $17 mil more in cap space than the Colts, IF the Bengals don't resign their own RT, Andre Smith, it should tell you something. Maybe he is eating his way out of the league.

Don't forget the DL.
Pack your Freeney jersey next to your Manning jersey :-(

As a Colts fan, I truly enjoyed BA... his handling of the interim job, his leadership during that time, and his candidness, which was refreshing. I will also say, as a fan, I enjoyed the vertical passing game that he employed. It was so much enjoyable than, say, the offense that the Patriots tried to use against the Ravens. Dink and dunk. Joe Flacco, despite the wind, tried to gain "chunk" plays. For the fan (like I am), that is so very plaudible. I love it! I certainly hope Pep keeps the best parts of it in his offense.

I don't deny that the Colts need help in 4 of the 5 OL spots. If Hamilton, the new OC, wants a "downhill" run first running game, there is a LOT of personnel improvement needed. Castonzo is the only solid performer among the five positions. Shipley/Satelle are only OK. The remainder of the OL are routinely dominated in the run game.

Improve the guard to guard interior of the line and Brown flourishes. Our line interior had to be one of the NFL's worst for both pass blocking and run blocking. We were, frankly, overpowered in most games. Get Andy Levitre in free agency, if possible and economical, and go a long way to improving passing and running.
2 years, 2 months ago on Colts Offseason Outlook: Should the Colts release RB Donald Brown?
It's not a conundrum for me. There was far, far too much pressure from the middle when passing and far too little run blocking guard to guard. Shipley and Reitz appear serviceable. McGlynn and McGuire (Oops, old Mamas and Pappas) McGlynn and Satelle get overpowered and aren't the answers. Ijalana has been IR'd two years in a row but is supposed to be powerful but by inuendo I've heard he's a slow learner. Maybe, maybe he can help. I trust Grigson on him.
Top on my free agent list Is Andy Levitre (OG) if the bidding doesn't go too high on him. Typically interior linemen don't command the salaries of OT's. In the Colt's case, an el premo internal line blocker would help immensely.
They DID draft him 1st overall.

I don't think you'll see a long snapper on the practice squad. If one is needed mid-season you pick up a free agent. It's not like they have a huge playbook to pick up.
I don't think we'll have 6 OLBs on the regular roster. Fugger likely on the practice squad due to lack of reps.

Well Kyle, how do feel about the Colts' representative saying that the decision was made because protecting the interests of the Colts' paying customers is the first priority? Liars!!!!

Reggie may be more valuable in training camp and the locker room than on the field. He seems to be having more and more difficulty gaining separation. That "lost step" perhaps. Maybe the group of poor QBs last year exaggerated the apparent problem. Net, I have mixed feelings about the resigning. I do wish the term were shorter for sure.
