well duh dude! what other movie/s that you've seen has the director, or writer, or producer, or actor/s, or even the fucking water boy asked you to assist with? but if you knew John Woo had to gain access to a speed boat through means of fans in that boat-chase scene in Face Off, that is all you'd be able to think about rather then getting lost in the magic of a high-octane action/adventure when watching it.
@xisthisloadedx haha, exactly
@GreatSoren all you did was describe what an indie film is. and because it is fan-funded means he can't put a single cent of his own towards it?...
@MRCAB @SensibleVoice that's more then 10 times Clerks' cost.....
@Doogrisa @SensibleVoice btw: for someone who isn't "retarded" you fail to know "alot" is not a word. and you misused "apart". in it's context it would be "a", because you're directing the statement at one particular thing, then "part" meaning a single piece of the "a".
@RyanSanders at least they're guaranteed to get something when they fork over they're hard earned $$$.
@macrojd @SensibleVoice "all your bases are belong to us."

@Doogrisa @SensibleVoice powerful argument
@mydog8u2 don't you mean your 200.02 cents?
@AndrewMullins @DBZMagus not wanting to take a risk shows a clear lack of confidence from the producer/creator. if they believed in their project, their Mona Lisa, so much they'd take the "risk" knowing it had no other option then to pay-off. this way leaves too much of a cushion for james for me to feel comfortable with.
@Jasonpaine714 i got my LPN in 2004, 3 years after graduation from high school. since then i've been on my own, accept for when me and my finace moved in together. and no, the red cross was taking 5, 10, and 20 dollar donations, plus tax and txt rates might i add ( F'ing Bullshit!). BTW, kevin smith made clerks (very on par with what we've come to expect from james) with 25k-30k$. continuing with his formula he made "the jersey trilogy" which really gave him bragging rights/clout. now he's a near household name.
@macrojd @Destoroyah @PatrickZac yeah mine died in august. dog that is. i am sorry about your parents. i don't think staring at a picture of the 2 (you and yer dog) of you all day is healthy. i'm certainly no therapist or life coach, but uh.... yeah, thanks for answering my question
@macrojd @xisthisloadedx @Destoroyah @PatrickSayan it's called a business loan, similar to a mortgage with the exception of needing some sort of business plan and projection estimates.
@macrojd @Khameleon @Olivania @TheShervinator dude, getting james' signature doesn't make him less of a stranger. you're world sounds very small and sad if you think you develop a relationship with someone you idolize just by them scribbling their name on some scrap paper.
@macrojd @Olivania @TheShervinator oh you mean comic-cons, or game-cons, like PAX? lol, yeah real redcarpet events. my cousin used to ink fror Silver Surfer, he lives in San Diego, so as a result i've been to san diego comic-con a couple times, i'm certainly not famous. furthermore, i asked some dude in a Michelangelo costume at the TMNT "Out of Their Shells" tour for an autograph. everyone who paid for a ticket did, i wouldn't call the guy in a costume famous.....
@macrojd @DBZMagus hey man. i really need some help, i'm a little behind right now and, if you are able to, i could really use some financial help. please help if you can. i know others have helped me already, but i need some more. please if you could, it would be awesome. i'm not begging, i'm just trying to raise some funds, or fundraising. lol, riiiiiiight dude that's not begging at all.....
@rocknrollheart @DBZMagus if it's independent you don't have a due date. you independently make the feature, then go around and try to sell it. and how many cinema projects do you have under your belt anyways? you seem to know a lot...
@Destoroyah @metalcommand agreed
@macrojd @Destoroyah @PatrickZac dude, your icon is of you with your molester 'stasch and your dog..... either you're a very lonely man (obvious because yer friends would have told you to shave that thing off), or you receive monthly SSI checks because the government deemed you unfit for employment.
@macrojd @Destoroyah @PatrickZac ... dude, proof read your posts before posting if you are attempting to sound educated.
@Destoroyah @macrojd @PatrickZac .... so then you didn't donate any money? because, you're certainly not a fool right...?
@macrojd @Destoroyah @PatrickZac he also creates a script and says funny things. but none of that seems relevant anymore, as there haven't been any avgn videos for quite some time....
@PatrickZac I sent a txt to donate $5 with Japan's recovery efforts. in now way would i consider myself "part of the team" just because i threw a few bucks at them. the teams of those on site getting their brows sweaty, and hands bloody. same goes for those who donated to James, as you said it yourself "a movie takes a lot of work". and those clicking a paypal button aren't doing the work.
@macrojd @Destoroyah @PatrickSayan keep in mind he's been casting for over three months now, and that 300K somehow isn't enough to buy a 30$ monitor/s from goodwill or pay for a permit to close down and ten film in a needed setting.
@Calavera well, he's apparently using it to have his counter-part Mike, review B-movies and show us game glitches.... but not using it to buy monitors (kinda necessary) or pay for filming locations (also kind of a big deal).
@Olivania @TheShervinator yeah famous..... i heard he's got a private booth at Red Robin, lol. maybe e-famous.
@PARKSLang @DBZMagus yeah, that's what i want when watching an anticipated movie; to watch the pool scene and think to myself "oh, that must the spot he couldn't find on his own, wonder how much else of this movie didn't he do?". ....... doesn't that take away some of the magic of this production from us the fans?
@DBZMagus i agree with you whole heartedly. i don't think he is "taking the money and running" but he's def. living large. Turner Broadcasting pays him, not to mention the companies who pay to advertise through his sight. every click = $ for James. got anything to say about this "danielxthextryhard"? lol
@TankTopSkank ... did you just make an eminem ref.?... is that to be insulting? because if it is.... well you quoted eminem, lol
@David0706 ..... then what is the point of a message board?
@flowers11990 yes, but i am not talking about the differance in these movies, but rather illustrating a common drive that was/is in all 3 filmographers.
@riddleman65 yes, respect is earned, not given. and the "vision" makes no differance to my point, it still illustrates it wonderfully. it's kinda like a doctor who is attempting to finish his clinicals after completing med. school. however, he can't afford basic needs while doing clinicals (its a non-pay job). do you grovel to mom and dad, or fellow students, or friends hoping for handouts, or bust some serious f'ing ass and get a job ad mcdonalds, just so you can finish your education. which of these scenarios shows a harder worker/stronger character. you see i look up to people like James, he's done a lot! but now, i am having hard tim looking up to him because of things like this. that's not arguable, it's my opinion, and i am a fan, or was....... :(
@CarlosGavira honestly, i am really sure he is. he seems genuine and good-hearted. i just wanted to say that while i had the chance! lol
@JoeyT14 even if it were his 100th film, he is going to run into problems. when taking upwards of a year to make anything, problems will arrise, especially when making a feature-length. that is just part of being good at something, rolling with the punches and then dusting yourself off. this is where independant-feature-length creators shine or fade into obscurity. i'm sorry, but my disappointment is not something that is arguable. name one other independant film producer who goes to their fan base, weekly might i add, with a problem they themselves cannot handle? like i said, i'm an AVGN fan, a big one. but these days there is no AVGN to be a fan of...... if you think i'm still wrong, then is it safe to assume you've contributed significant amounts of $$$ since this feature's production?
@AntonioSerra kevin smith made clerks with profits from selling his comic book collection. i don't know what his collection included but he admits to spending a lifetime collecting, not selling a single book until he had to, to make his first movie. there was no internet to grovel to. george lucas tried making star wars for 6 years before finding a producer who didn't want to change his "vision". still not enough? darren arrenofski made the move "pi" with maxed out credit cards and bank loans. i could easily keep going with examples of why what james is doing is disappointing, but there's no need to.
@Bud Spencer thanks for letting us know.....
@Khameleon .... i'm guessing by her e-mail addy that it's a she, rebekah apparently.
@gamez become? ummmmmmm..... anyone else wanna take this?
@Inspector Butters yeah..... that's how Spielberg does it....
@ThorvaldTheBad oh, you mean his basement? i'm pretty sure if james is having problems finding a pool in L.A. to film at..... he's pretty pinched for other locations; meaning easily accessible/familiar settings will have to be used, such as his basement.
@JeramieKruger see: blair witch project. terrible film, but it did very well considering the lack of everything they used to make it. it illustrates the point perfectly.
...... used to live this site... but now all it seems to serve as is an amatuer filmographer's portfolio. i honestly can't remember when the last time i watched something of quality on here was. instead, all i see are excuses/promises of things to come, yet seem to fall short. and btw, who's making this film; the AVGN or his fans? i ask because every time i log in, i read of a plight followed by a beg for help..... not a good or impressive first attempt at a feature-length. i fear that by the time this movie is released, the AVGN will have faded into obscurity only to be replaced by the another one of the internet's weekly personalities. i really wish james had continued with a working formula instead of putting all his eggs into a wet-paper-bag.
