@ingy56 @Burtonboy @Yan28 Yeah, junior isn't the way to go for him for sure.

@mike_84 Jamie Benn is a power forward, we don't have anyone in that mold, but these are the prospects that I like.

Sam Carrick 5th rounder
Josh Leivo 3rd rounder
David Broll 6th rounder (Hasn't started the year well though).

Sabres fans rooting for losing are already coveting Connor McDavid

“Whenever the Sabres lose, my Twitter just kind of blows up with fans kind of talking about me and stuff like that,” McDavid said.

It goes beyond social media. Some fans have already had “McDavid 97” Sabres jerseys made up and wear them to games that he’s not even eligible to play in.

@Cameron19 @Yan28 @Komas Taberle Sure you can, watch his scraps then go and watch Neil. Neil will demolish him. Neil takes a lot of heat cause he's with the Sens, but a guy that can fight and play would be good on our roster.

@Cameron19 @Komas Taberle Panik isn't a fighter at the NHL level, he  had a few minor scraps in the AHL and etc, but he isn't Neil caliber, that's out of the question. You wanted to go without a fighter guys, don't start pressuring guys  into roles they aren't built for now.

@Komas Taberle Phaneuf will have to step up for this one, and Polak, there's no one else that can come to even remotely challenging Neil on this roster.

Could be good news for Ryan Rupert who played for his junior years for the Knights. I love the kid's aggression, hope he doesn't loose confidence in the ECHL.

This Draft or trade deadline we have to be going all out for a top 5 Center. If we aren't then I'll question management's commitment. This is the one chance.

@dlb Mad @Yan28 That's my knock against him. He needs to hit guys to get the puck from them, he tries to stick handle and is not skilled enough for that, guys get around him that way. With that frame he should hit like a Roman Polack, has to work on that side of his game for sure, because without capitalizing on his strength his weaknesses will stop him from ever making the big league and that would be a shame, because the guys is a tank and would be perfect for our 4th line.

@Omac13 No, he isn't. For his size he plays quite a soft game. If he was really physical he'd be playing right now.

They aren't panicking about Panik according to Spott, they like his physicality and giving him time to adjust to the system.

Frattin needs to be more physical according to Spott.

No mention of Ashton whatsoever.

AP, what's your opinion on bringing up Carrick to play on the 4th line? In terms of zone entries, I don't have the numbers or anything, but his fore check is awesome. There's no comaprison to Peter Holland, who barely has any fore check.

Also when I watch Marlies games I realize that Granberg and Holzer are either not that good or took a step back this year,Loov looks like the best call up right now and this is his first year. So our defense in the Marlies right now is not that great if you're looking for an all around Dman like Percy, there is nobody ready right now. Just defensive Dman, MacWilliam, Holzer and Granberg.

@thakilla93 Booth will take Winnick's spot and Winnick will slide back to the 4th line. Carrick will come up. We can fill the 3rd spot with someone from the miscasts or bring up David Broll.

  • Not to be shown up by his UMD teammate, Tony Cameranesi matched Toninato's pace with a goal and two assists this weekend.
  • Andreas Johnson scored two goals in two games this past week. He leads Frolunda with five goals and 37 shots.
  • Dakota Joshua has four goals and nine points in eight games so far this season for the Sioux Falls Stampede. He's tied for fourth in USHL scoring.
  • Brad Ross leads the Solar Bears with three goals and five points through two games. That's good for a first place tie atop the ECHL top scorer's table. My guess is Ross wants to return to the Marlies pretty bad.
  • Carter Verhaeghe scored once and assisted on another on Saturday evening, helping Niagara beat Sudbury for just their second win of the season.
  • Frederik Gauthier and Rinat Valiev, both injured, have yet to play a game this season.
