I have a feeling that Perk is going to become a minor problem in the locker room at some point due to decreased playing time, completely invalidating his tendency to beat the "sacrifice" drum

Ah yes, good point.  I totally forgot the excuse about how the owner situation somehow put them at a competitive disadvantage on the court.  Surely Ballmer must be good for 6-7 more wins then right, because owners typically have that type of impact.  I wonder how many wins having Clay Bennett as our lead owner costs us

The ESPN rank thing is interesting.  So if the Clippers have a supposedly better coach than us, two top 5 players and better overall team depth, what is their excuse?  Then again, the rankings probably coincide with the trendy pick for the Clips to win the West this year

Thunder ownership could win back so much good will if they would just open themselves to being interviewed.  We basically have NO idea what the power structure really is within the group or what their objectives are, and it leads to endless speculation about being cheap and half-assed about winning a title.  I don't understand why they are so content to stay silent while everyone takes shots at them.  Unfortunately, the way they go about it only strengthens the perception that they only care about pocketing checks

It will stop being cool when we either win a title or Durant leaves (and if he leaves, it will be cool forever).  When we traded Harden we apparently offended Bill's sense of fandom since we broke up a "dynasty".  I know that we were just coming off a Finals appearance, but I thought that a dynasty had to at least win one title first.

It is really unfortunate that someone with so much influence in the sports world has such an axe to grind.  It definitely colors the media perception of us, and therefore the perception of the casual fan.  You can tell how uncomfortable it makes Lowe to keep ruminating on it.

Up early in the call room this AM.  Trying to figure out which will be better: the Broncos-Niners game, or the knee-jerk reactions from the Thunder preseason game.  Will this one be televised?  I know these are preseason games, but FFS I can't deal with the scoreboard cam again

Don't sandbag that hard.  We love to make mobile QBs look like way better than they should.  We also love to play down to the level of our competition.  Covering the Thomases will be a nightmare for you with the injuries though.  Willis being out really hurts.  Are you really going to have Rapist cover Demaryius like I have heard?

If Lamb doesn't show something this year, it will be interesting to see what the plans for Abrines are.  If he can become a useful rotation player, there is a chance that Lamb could be the worst player in the Harden trade (I am assuming that McGary becomes a useful rotation big)

Tough to say, but I have a hard time believing that Carlisle or Pop would be any more gentle with those two then we have.  It's not like they have been put in situations where they can't succeed either.  Lamb was asked to basically chuck with the 2nd unit and Perry looks like he has 3-and-D responsibilities.  They simply haven't seized any moments yet, except for Lamb catching fire for a few weeks.  They both seem to have confidence issues.

On a positive note, seeing them both playing more aggressively is very encouraging.  Think back to Harden's first couple of seasons.  Watching the light bulb turn on for him when he became more aggressive was very fun to see.  Turned him into a completely different player.  We just have to exercise the same patience, and if they don't capitalize then we may see bags getting packed by the trade deadline.

Rather than see some 40 USG ridiculousness I would love to see Russ focus on ball movement, playmaking and defense and try to let some of the unproven talent like Lamb, Jones and Adams pick up the slack.  In a way, I want to see him play in the manner that I suspect Derrick Rose will be playing while Chicago reincorporates him into their lineup.  There will be a lot of pain with it, but it is kind of sink or swim for many of the young players so that we know what we have moving forward

The type of injury that he had is not due to fatigue of a muscle or structure, but rather due to a violent explosive movement.  He could have a tear if you rested him five days for every game he played
