@The MasterDoctor  I have two problems with Midnight - Firstly is that I don't get excited by a monster that makes you repeat what it said - but more significantly is all the bickering and fighting.  If I want to see that I will watch Eastenders. For me it is one of the worst episodes ever, but hey - I understand lots of others love it.  Each to their own.

@Mr Meglos   At a guess - casual viewers, non-fans.  It was a nice story. I enjoyed it - it just wasn't what you normally expect from Dr.Who.

@91 Queen of Evil @Tomb of the Cyberbob  Yeh - I wasn't overhappy with the word "lambast" - but it was the best I could come up with given my limited brain capacity.    There is a generational thing too.   If someone takes offence, you are right of course.  I haven't actually ever heard anyone take offence with this word, but I understand they do, so I avoid it to be safe.

@91 Queen of Evil So you - and many others, so that "coloured" is offensive - but in the US there is a "National Association for the Advancement of Colored People".  How's that work then? In the UK, the term "Paki" is definitely offensive (and rightly so - I would say), but elsewhere it is just a shortened version of Pakistani. The point is that the same word has different meanings to different people, and we can't always lambast people for having different meanings to us.   Personally, I try to avoid any racial reference - partly because I like to consider myself not influenced by skin colour or ethnicity, but mainly because I know I'm doomed whatever I say!

@mondomark Re: "Viewers over 30".  Maybe  you are right- but In my office, where there are about 30 people over 30 (myself included) - there are at least 2 huge fans of Peter Capaldi, and a sprinkling of other casual viewers.  One of the big fans is nearly 60. The general feeling of the "older" viewer in my experience is that they much prefer the more mature Peter Capaldi to the sometimes puerile Matt Smith

@TonySimmons Oh come on. Coronation Street = 6,65 million, Downton Abbey = 6.25 million.   Doctor Who is right up there with the big boys and girls.  I would actually say - we can all trot out the old moans and groans - but we shouldn't kid ourselves that it is anything other than a monster hit.  Context is everything.

@Only as old Whovian as you feel - Hello Rusty  48 years old here - love Missy, not sure about a female Doctor, though I could be persuaded. I warmed to Clara taking on the mantle.   I actually think what they'll do with the Doctor to make a contrast next is to stick with a male Doctor, but played by a black actor.  It just seems the next logical contrast.

Now - I've never said a negative word about the show on this forum, I am generally a "glass half full" kind of person, who likes sharing in the joy of the wonderful show we all enjoy so much and wonders why the nit-pickers who keep threatening to watch something else don't actually go and do precisely that, and let the rest of us all live in a cosy world of general loveliness and niceness.

So, deep breath: here goes.  Something negative. I HATE THE SPEECH!!!

@hp139  But these aren't the same Cybermen we saw in Nightmare in Silver - so we don't know they can upgrade all the time.  These are a new Cyberman race created by Missy.  At least, that's my take on it - "Cybermen from Cyberspace - why did nobody ever think of that"

@_divya12_  Not really.  The BBC will control what they let out to whet the appetite, but not to spoil any major events.  It will be based upon a measured judgement, and I am sure sometimes their judgement may differ from others, but personally I see no issue here.

@Notsosmartguy Approves of female Master @TomGallagher  I kind of disagree (in a nice way).    There was no intent to kill a child, and the storyline reflected his horror at having done so.  All seems OK to me.
