That's so funny you two brought that up! My ex boyfriend after dating me has like black girl vision or something. His other friends and I now joke that if he's in a room full of people he will somehow find the one black girl there. He loves us now ladies I'm not sure what happened but yeah its cute. He's also noted that somehow black women know that he dates black women. This has him baffled I however think it's just because he notices them now.
@LemonCrush My friend does that all the time! She doesn't think the guy is attractive but she talks to him anyway. Oh well hes funny or blah blah. I on the other hand refuse to date a guy I don't find attractive physically. What is the point in that?! She tells me I'm too picky/ shallow. It's just the truth I don't want to waste my time on someone I don't want to sleep with. Guys do it whats wrong with me doing the same?
@Infinity88 It was so obvious when they started to use black models. As in hiring them ( because that's what they call the sales people). I have yet to see a black model on those huge pictures they post in the front of the store. Again I'm not surprised one bit by his comment because we all know that's what other stores are saying in their meetings and such. But you're right he could had tried to take the healthy lifestyle road.
I don't shop there particularly because I never see black models displayed in the stores. This only makes me avoid the place even further. I'll admit I've been tempted by Hollister's jeans (they make really nice ones) but again they are sister stores so I avoid.

I feel like this shouldn't need to be reiterated but not ALL men like thin women. Some men like bigger women and that is OKAY. It just so happens that this particular guy likes thin women. He is entitled to that however I don't think anyone should ever change for someone else. If bigger women want to slim down then that's fine but they need to do it for themselves because at the end of the day they are the ones living in their body. Now why didn't he go to another website? Or perhaps get off the internet and go out into the world to find woman? I think he needed to clarify a bit more in his letter. Men SIMILAR to him who are fit nuts MAY be more inclined to go after women who also value being slim and healthy. Those thicker women don't need to slim down for him. He just needs to say thanks for your interest but no thanks.

The mother shouldn't be jumping down the girlfriends throat. Obviously they come from different cultures, so mom should had calmly stated that in their culture this is what potential wives do. On the other hand as a guest in someone else's home the girlfriend should be volunteering to do dishes and cook SOMETIMES. She can't just stay there and never clean the bathroom or kitchen... she uses those areas doesn't she? I think they all need to sit down and talk through everything.
@DUsher @JennMJack But even though they focused solely on Django I don't think a few more scenes of Hildy would had completely taken the focus off him. I feel like there was a big todo about her being in the movie but she hardly said or did a peep. Jen mentioned alot of her scenes got cut so maybe that is the cause.

@JennMJack @DUsher I also thought she could of been more involved. Maybe see how she interacted with the other slaves and candy? Or maybe we could had seen her escape attempts? I mean a three hour movie they could had gone back and forth between the two's efforts?
@jakethewrestler I feel like there were a ton of other much more positive dances and actions she could had done upon winning. Why she choose to promote that kind of behavior, I don't understand.
I was very upset when I learned of Serena's crip walk after winning. Anywho she just needs to kick her butt if they ever get a chance to play against one another.
What exactly are they getting a pass with? Like not having a job or not wanting commitment or something? There are things I look for when I'm deciding to date someone or not regardless of color. He has to have a job, car, be in school or done with it already, and depending certain things his own place. Along with of course the obvious nice funny, and smart.
@oneofthegirls @VictoriaAntoine I think the reason we aren't first choice to black men is because they like to believe all these silly stereotypes about black women. I can't tell how many times I've heard black men young ones anyway talking about how they don't date black women. Because we're this that and the other. They need to realize they're talking about their mothers, sisters and other family members. But I don't want a man who is narrow minded enough to believe an entire group of women behaves a certain way. I deserve someone with more common sense! Preferably a Christian Bale look alike.=]
Its funny this question has come up on here because I took an ethnic studies course at school and my professor ( a white french man married to a black woman) asked us to write a paper answering this. Particularly whether we felt we were first and foremost our race and then gender or the other way around? When i wrote my paper I felt that I am black first and then a woman. However now a few years later I think about it and I am certain it's the other way around. I am a woman first and then my race comes second.
This was an interesting read however I'm always skeptical of these studies. I mean where exactly did they find these men? Location is important. I noticed it said men of all ages but how many men of each age bracket? I don't know like I said I find them interesting to read but I'm not about to change up my life over it.
Great post! Now is the time for people to really start taking a look at our gun policies. These incidents are just becoming far too common place. Multiples incidents in 2012 alone honestly? Maybe we can't undoubtedly prevent these "crazies" from getting guns but we can sure as heck make it a lot harder. I'd rather we did something than nothing. I'm willing to bet if these guns weren't readily available in their homes, these shootings wouldn't had happened. Hello it's so easy to get an underground gun because guns are legal! Make them illegal = making it harder to obtain on the black market!
@LaFemmeSphinx Well yes it seems all you can do is stay positive. It's really unfortunate that is how people view black women there. But you never know maybe you'll stumble upon someone wiser!
