I use bold, italic and hash-tags to help optimize my Google+ pages. I also will update any offers on my Google plus business page or put in some new information, this will refresh your page and tell (ping) google there is new updated content. If I want to rank for more areas I will add in additional counties or cities in the description area for Google+ and directory listings. On my website, I will put this of course in the title, inline content and close to any map. I always also link out to the local chamber of commerce or any other local niche businesses that correlates.

Pinterest is driving traffic to my site, however not as much as Google+ right now. I add in my URL to all my pins in the description, so when my followers and other members re-pin my pins and tweet them it creates more links. I wrote more about it here: http://www.javascriptsandmore.com/1/post/2012/03/increase-traffic-from-re-pins-on-pinterest.html
