@hitreach It does seem very buggy. There have also been reports of No Follow links being reported as unnatural links...

@Marc_McDermott  @AdamJamesMason Hi Marc. Moz metrics are solid but increasingly fresher data sets are needed with so much changing so rapidly. Majestic's data is better and their two new metrics feed off that well. Hope that makes sense?!

@dannydenhard it sounds like problems are generally very process led as opposed to delivery/execution led?

Have you got any great tips you want to share around idea generation?

@HughAnderson Hi Hugh. Thanks for the comment. You are right those metrics are critical as the value of a guest post extends beyond simple link metrics and value. The point of looking at social shares is to gauge the audience size and we often use SEMRush or Alexa to further quantify this. In reality though none of them are that accurate.

There is almost always a correlation between general domain authority however and audience quality/quantity and so while those metrics mentioned are not there to directly measure audience indirectly they do. Hope that makes sense!

@s_rvll Hey Sean. Thanks for the comment. Fake PR is a big problem and post penalty its become pretty inaccurate. Domain Mozrank works much better for us right now, alongside measurement of social activity.

Absolutely Mark. The Disavow tool is clearly a weapon of last resort and a way for Google to scale its spam discovery efforts. It does, however, work well for those with nowhere else to turn and can recover sites...

Great piece @markba55  and goes some way to answering the big question around measuring social ROI. A lot is placed on social audience volume when quality and engagement is really where the value is.

We would also like to add a big thankyou to the @distilled guys for what was a great conference. The Wifi situation was a little frustrating but the speakers killed it. Who else went and could you rank the speakers? Here's our attempt:1. Wil Reynolds2. Tom Anthony3. Mike King4. Martin McDonald5. Rand Fishkin6. Neyne!7. Will Critchlow

8. Jane Copland

The standard was so high that every one would come top at pretty much any other conference....
