Det. James 'Sonny' Crockett: Things go wrong. The odds catch up. Probability is like gravity: you cannot negotiate with gravity. One day... one day you should just cash out, you know? Just cash out and get out.
@ManOnFire @dan765 I'd also give the edge to Conley over Swann. Longer legs give an automatic advantage in 40 times (one of the reasons why they aren't the best judge of football speed versus just straight line speed).

@ManOnFire @dan765 I don't see any of the linebackers over 5.0. Just guessing.
@C_saw Next year is HERE ! Ideally, one of them separates from the other and is able to get more reps with the #1s because of that. But that would be ideal. It could be a battle into the season. I'm guessing that it doesn't go that far, though.
@SwabbyDawg @JHD=Keep ADGM I really like the TE that we just signed. But I could see an opportunity in a hybrid TB/FB/HB/TE role. I think I read somewhere where they called it the 'Y' position (maybe as in Y not?)
@JHD=Keep ADGM I like the way he looks, too. I absolutely think he can contribute. But the question always comes down to, "what can he do when the blocking is not there?" That's what separates a serviceable back and one who helps you win football games. I can't wait to find out. He certainly looks big and strong.
@RaleighDawg @richsethhardy Per a link, Petrino said that he was leaving and he would follow up with the coaches with more information in the future. He then turned around and left. Per Zimmer, that's the last conversation any of them had with Petrino (not that they wanted to talk to him again, anyway).
@RaleighDawg @richsethhardy Zimmer was the DC for the Falcons under Petrino.
@ClassicCityDawg2010 @JHD=Keep ADGM What I was thinking
3 weeks, 6 days ago on Conversation @ http://www.fieldstforum.com/classic-city-cavern-uga-chat/ccc-post-nsd-coverage-2515/
@CaliVisionz I don't think we are going to complain that he takes the ball and slams into the backside of the offensive line (based on the Hudl). It's the million dollar question... what can he do when nothing is there? That'll determine his effectiveness in the SEC. The million dollar opportunity... I think Schotty wants to build us in to the 90's Cowboys (my uninformed opinion). This guy could be Moose Johnston, and could do it at a high collegiate level.
4 weeks, 1 day ago on Conversation @ http://www.fieldstforum.com/classic-city-cavern-uga-chat/ccc-uga-chat-2315/
@CaliVisionz He's not a "win the edge" guy. But he looks like a very patient runner. He wants blockers and will wait for them to do their work. The game will come to him a lot quicker than in HS. And, he'll have to make that adjustment. When he needs to make his move, he can. When he needs to stiff arm, he can. When he needs to block, he can.
@Mike_Brooks14 @meansonny I don't follow the NFL closely. But is it great defense versus great offense 2.0?

@Mike_Brooks14 Pats will play the Seahawks
Thanks for sharing. great vid.

Awesome. How much of that can be coached after the age of 18?
@Mae_ka_dudi @meansonny @ItsJustaFleshWound I hadn't seen inglorious bastards. But that was a great scene. It kept going and going. Very intense.
@BryanDawg87 I'm liking the idea of him at Money or even Mike and spying QBs. He seems to offer a lot of opportunities.
@ItsJustaFleshWound I liked it. Dark. Different. A little disturbing. But great writing, great directing, and great acting.
@ItsJustaFleshWound @meansonny I don't necessarily care about first round talent... If he can be top 3 in conference at his position... then I'm ecstatic (just be in the conversation when it comes to All SEC at the end of the year). If he's not... I'm fine with that, but can someone else step in and push him harder. We want to recruit these kids who can be at the top of the conference.
@Mike_Brooks14 I like reading that. I was a Rambo defender after 2 seasons (under-classmen get a bad rap a lot of times). I am looking for more affirmations on Quincy. He's not a kid that I want to doubt. But he doesn't jump out at me on the field like a Rambo, JJ Green, Shawn Williams type to this point either.
@GJDM = Gurley Just Did, Man @meansonny I don't know if his ceiling is as high as Rambo. Rambo was a 3 star. Rambo also got lots of play time as a freshman. But the height/speed thing makes me wonder if Quincy can lock it down like Bacarri did.
@GJDM = Gurley Just Did, Man @meansonny He doesn't hold anything back.... reminds me of Rambo before his concussion.
I know it is recruiting season... but what's everyone's take on Quincy Mauger? How high is his ceiling? Does he lock down a spot for 2 more years... or is it going to be rotational?
@WalktheDawg Whisky @The1TrueDawg I don't mind Jucos from a roster spot perspective. If you like signing 30 man classes... you're going to need to be churning kids quickly after 2 or 3 years. You do that with mature JuCos and with 3 year talents. Recruiting is a numbers game.... and you're more likely to win with 30 man classes than you are with 20 man classes.
@WalktheDawg Whisky @ItsJustaFleshWound I thought we would see more from Toby because of the way he looked on film. I know it was against other JuCo. But he was able to slice into the backfield on occasion with ease. He did the same at UGA, but was just off balance or too slow to clean up the play, himself.Similar to Cornelius Washington... he got the Close but no cigar award a lot. Often times, that type of disruption creates opportunities for other players, though. Unfortunately, we just had bad games tackling (and those plays which should have been losses turned into real positive gains).
@ItsJustaFleshWound I'm a big Jenkins fan. I only have 3 knocks on him.1) He wasn't as effective at DE as he was at NT. After Abry Jones went down, he never played another nose technique in our base (he was nose in the nickel, however).2) After 2 games against cut blocking triple option teams, he wasn't aggressive in the SECCG. He played soft on the line and would rather pursue like a linebacker than attempt to disrupt in the backfield. To his credit, he chased down plays on the other side of the field... but that's not the role of a 3-4 DE.3) Academics. Inelligible in the last bowl game. Missed several practices for academics.The guy was a hoss. And outside of the last 2 games in his senior season, he couldn't have given us anything more his entire time here. It wasn't his fault Abry got hurt. He's a dgd.
@Dapper Dan Man Looks like a good ball player. Lots of natural instinct. Athletically, he looks like an open book. I love the long stride. Get him with a speed coach and college training program and he could really jump off the page!
@SwabbyDawg I'm not bothered by it. Once the LOI is sent in, they lose a lot of rights. Better to be safe and sure than sorry. It's the way that the recruiting game is structured and they're playing by the rules.

@30ADawg @JHD=Keep ADGM @meatball UGA has a better job network than GT in this state. More grads and a great alumni community. On top of that, there is the Paul Oliver Network for those who need a little extra help.Unless he's specifically looking for something specialized at GT or Yale, he can get it here.
@BazingaDawg @meansonny There are often 1 or 2 that have the degree in hand and don't need a 5th (or 4th) year. And there may be one who is constantly hampered with an injury that walks away. But you will be hard pressed to have an insider put a name to the situations (no one who likes a kid is going to make the decision for him in January).
@BazingaDawg That's a dangerous question! ha
@dallasga6 @meansonny @JHD=Keep ADGM There are a lot of similarities. 2 East titles has bought him some favor. But there is a bigger contingent tired of him over there versus Richt over here. I like the way that Gentry phrases it. After so many years, it is titles or bust. Except for them, he's never won a conference title.
@dallasga6 @JHD=Keep ADGM @meansonny Does this cast any doubt on Pinkel in the future? The consensus should be no. But there can't be anything factual to back that up until someone else gets placed.
@JHD=Keep ADGM he sucks. bench him
@Mike_Brooks14 They don't get credit because Tennessee and Florida are at pretty big lows right now. I've watched Mizzou very closely the past 3 seasons. I don't under-estimate them at all. But they are a little more full of themselves than they should be. The run game wasn't good (or was just good enough). But their DL has played lights out 2 out of the last 3 seasons. And turnovers win games.
@goatdawg @meatball i got kool aid
@JHD=Keep ADGM Anyone know why she resigned? I checked out a Mizzou board early this morning and it looked like they were talking about candidates for quite a while.
@Socrates B.Kronas: Is For Sale I looked up the regular season for the Jets under Brian. 6 seasons. Only 2 had over 50% run playcalling (58% in 2008 and 2009). The other 4 years were under 50% (2011 was the low at 43%). We were as high as 56% rushing in 2010 with AJ Green and that was a 3000 yard passing offense. I don't see the connection, and I hope that it's that obvious to these kids and their families.
@Ricky "El Gringo" McDurden I'm a big Mason fan. And a good OC is going to call the plays that develop a great gameplan (throwing wide helped open up the inside running game). But this is one of the situations where those missed deep ball opportunities are coming home to roost.If you are only going to take 2 deep shots per game, you have to hit on them. Teams like South Carolina and Auburn have been successful in the recent past with this, and they are able to avoid a moniker of "ball control offense" even though that's exactly what they've been doing.
@DrTiki @meansonny @Socrates B.Kronas: Is For Sale Agreed.
@34Dawg @meansonny Nothing can't be explained. And talking bad about a program usually hurts the negative recruiter when their facts fall apart. The key is getting a chance to explain and illustrate to a teenager or their parents the history that they do not know about UGA.
@GJDM = Gurley Just Did, Man @meansonny @34Dawg He was hurt a lot (happens to a lot of WR and DB). He had great plays and key moments... but you're not going to have a 10 year career if you can't stay on the field.
@34Dawg Besides one of the best WRs on the planet... who else is there? Hmmm.
@34Dawg Kris Durham is still in the league. Mo Mass had a great run as well.
@Socrates B.Kronas: Is For Sale Dumb question... Is the title for an OC in the NFL that "loves to run the football" really equivalent to the same meaning in college? The NFL is such a passing league. If you run the football 50% of the time, then your team is said to "love to run the football".
@WalktheDawg Whisky He'll be fine. I'm typing out of turn (i'm not there and I don't know). I think the issue in Pruitt's defense is effort, hustle, and technique. It's not "body type". Grantham would play the big body regardless of effort/ability (I'm sorry, Kwame. But there was a huge talent gap between you and John Jenkins). it's easier to give Pruitt what he wants when you are leaner. But I don't think the weight is a pre-requisite. Just the effort for the entire drive.

@Dapper Dan Man @meansonny Good reply.The good take-away that I have is that he can be asked to do either...He can be asked to make the big play on a big down where we need "x" number of yards.But in years past, he was also a deep threat. He has that threat to make a single-coverage defender miss and create havoc in a backfield.I think we'll see him in that ball-control style.But it only takes one home run a game to leave a reputation for a receiver.And I do think he'll get that. He'll that that 1 opportunity a game to destroy a defense.And over the course of a season, we'll see that yards per catch finally creep upConsistency might not be there every game.But the big hits will come.And his draft stock will rise because of it.

Any late night thoughts on Malcolm Mitchell?Are we going to see the amazing possession receiver that we've seen the past few years?Or, is he going to be the type of player that we wish we saw from a full 14+ games from AJ Green?
Just one of these nights for me.Who knows... it'll probably be thunderstruck tomorrow.But tonight, it's the feel good blues.
@JHD=Keep ADGM @meansonny Good for him. I think Ben Jones has been at G since he left Athens.
@TXDawg I think 71 yards led that game and 45 yards was the leading receiver as well. Go Dawgs! Showing out.
