@Stradiwhovius There are many reasons why I personally love Listen. Firstly, I love how it seamlessly blends slice-of-life elements (the date) with sci-fi and horror elements (the Hiders and so on). I also found the episode to have a wonderfully creepy atmosphere and tone. I found its concept to be an exceptional exploration of the greatest fear we all face: the fear of the unknown; along with how it gave a pretty creepy possible explanation as to why we are compelled to talk aloud when we're alone. I also feel that the episode brings across a fantastic moral: fear is a superpower. A lot of people are embarrassed to admit when they're afraid (no matter what the age) but this episode shows that it's okay to be afraid because fear is something we all face and is something that can potentially bring out the best in us. The ending scene with Clara and the young Doctor has also gone on to become one of my all-time favorite scenes in the history of the show. I know a lot of people complained that this scene made Clara too important and made her outshine all of the other companions; however, I'm willing to bet money that nobody would be complaining if Sarah Jane Smith were in this scene instead of Clara (even though, no disrespect to the amazing Elisabeth Sladen or Sarah Jane Smith, Clara is more qualified and fitting for that scene). Besides, what Clara did is something any companion would have done in that moment: Sarah Jane, Rose, Martha, Amy, River, whathaveyou. But, moving on, I don't see that scene as Clara alone being the one to inspire the younger Doctor but rather the Doctor himself inspiring his younger self through Clara as Clara is, for the most part, repeating what she's heard the Doctor say in the past. And those are the main reasons why I personally love Listen.

I voted for the Listen Entity as I loved the ambiguity regarding its existence as well as how it acted as an exceptional portrayal of the ultimate fear: the fear of the unknown. The robot knights had a cool design but not much else. The Teller had a great design as well as one of the best monster introductions in the history of the show IMO but its backstory was a bit too similar to the Crooked Man's from Hide. The Skovox Blitzer was a fun background monster to have in such a character-driven episode. The Spider Germs were very creepy and I loved the way they moved and sounded. The Foretold was an incredibly scary and interesting monster. The Boneless were fantastic and reminded me a lot of the Vashta Nerada. The Kantofarri were an interesting concept that provided some very creepy moments.

Definitely the Clockwork Droids; though I honestly did find the Cybermen to have a few creepy moments in Death in Heaven and I liked the look we got into Dalek morality in Into the Dalek.

This is just evil. I adored both Peter and Jenna as they really brought their respective characters to life in the best way possible. It's practically impossible for me to choose between them as I loved them both. But, if I really have to choose, I guess I'll go with Jenna Coleman by a very, very small margin; if only for the fact that this was Capaldi's first season and, thus, he and the writers had to work out Twelve's quirks and habits throughout the course of the season.

I personally liked the inclusion of Clara's home life as I enjoyed seeing more into her life as a teacher at Coal Hill School. I also liked Danny Pink. I didn't love him and I'll admit that his story could have been executed better in some aspects but I'm overall satisfied with the story he had with Clara and how it all concluded. I also disagree about the pacing being bad. I personally feel that Series 8 had some incredibly well-paced episodes. I also disagree about Listen being repetitive. I felt it was an incredibly well-paced story that seamlessly blended slice-of-life elements with sci-fi/horror elements.

I definitely agree with this list and I loved Series 8 overall. I have a feeling that Danny's going to be in your weaknesses part as he's an aspect of the series that a lot of people complain about. Either way, I'll probably go into my thoughts about him when your next part comes out (whether or not he's actually part of the weaknesses list).

I am very happy that I get to spend another season with my second favorite TARDIS team (my first being 10 and Donna). Though, I am hoping that we get a second companion this season (Shona, please?!). Obviously, this is most definitely Clara's last season (by the end, she's going to beat Amy as the longest running companion of New Who!) and I'm very interested to see how her departure plays out (especially since I feel the scene with old Clara would have been a perfect departure for the character...too bad they used it so soon).

I really enjoyed this special. Capaldi and Coleman were fantastic (as always), Nick Frost was great as Santa, the supporting cast was really good (I'd be up for seeing Shona become a companion), and the story was a good mix of emotion, horror, and comedy. And since I'm one of the five people in the fandom who liked Danny, I found the dream sequence with him to be a very poignant moment. And, I'm REALLY glad that Clara's staying for Series 9. This isn't my favorite Christmas special but I think it could definitely grow to become one of my favorites.

A bit sad to see the against side win but it was followed by a really great article. As I've said in the past, all that matters to me is if the actor or actress gives a great performance and embodies the core character and spirit of the Doctor. Age, gender, and race are irrelevant.

I voted for Clara for the first half and a new companion for the second half. I think that would be fitting. Clara's introduced in the second half of Series 7 and she leaves in the first half of Series 9. Still, I do really love Clara and 12 together but I'm also looking forward to seeing what new companions reside in 12's future.

@MrRazza, Lord Tony of Blackburn I'm a bit scattered when it comes to Classic Who. I've seen four episodes from Hartnell's first season (An Unearthly Child, The Daleks, The Edge of Destruction, and The Aztecs), Pertwee's first episode, The Five Doctors, and countless clips of various episodes from various Doctors' eras here and there.

I expected the top three to be Tennant, Smith, and Tom Baker in any order but I am very happy to see Eccleston get so much love. While Tennant was my first Doctor and the one who ultimately got me into Doctor Who (who also went on to become my favorite Doctor), Eccleston's era was the first era of Doctor Who I watched in full (before continuing on into the rest of New Who). That alone makes his Doctor hold a special place in my heart.

Being one of the more optimistic and positive fans, I sometimes get a bit tired from all the negativity. So it always comes as a breath of fresh air to me when I see some good, ol' positivity in the fandom.

The title seems to be really pushing forward the possibility of this being Clara's last episode. If she does end up leaving, I hope it isn't because she dies. I'm hoping it's because she's pregnant with Danny's child. That way, Orson Pink can still happen! If this is what ends up happening, I'd like the final scene of the episode to be a flash forward by a few years to show Clara raising her kid. She could be out walking in the snow with her kid when she spots the Doctor in the distance. The two share a nod and smile of acknowledgement before the Doctor goes back into the TARDIS and disappears to parts unknown. Clara then continues to walk off with her child, ready to face the rest of her life.

I respect your opinions but I disagree with them as I found Michelle Gomez to be a superb Mistress/Master. I could definitely see echoes of previous Masters within her. She had the manipulative sophistication that all Masters had with a few welcome doses of craziness that John Simm's incarnation gave us. However, what I disagree with you the most on is your decision to quit Doctor Who if the Doctor becomes a woman. I don't want to come off as rude but this complaint annoys me. As long as the actor (or actress) gives a great performance and continues the essence of the Doctor, that's all that should really matter. The Doctor isn't going to stop being the Doctor simply because he becomes a she. This is just like when people were complaining about Matt Smith being too young and Peter Capaldi being too old. Age and gender are irrelevant when it comes to a character who could literally regenerate into anything. If the show continues on for quite some time, we're going to see the Doctor take on many different faces. He'll be old, he'll be young, he could be ginger, he could be black, he could be asian, and, yes, he could become a woman. Times are changing and the world is evolving. I have a feeling that we will see a female Doctor one day. Again, all that should matter is that the actor or actress fits the role of the Doctor. That's my opinion anyway.

@Clara Laurinda @JFrance I found it very interesting to see how Capaldi's Doctor interacted with children in comparison to Smith's Doctor. From how I see it, Smith's Doctor was more like the fun, eccentric uncle while Capaldi's Doctor was more like the grouchy yet lovable grandfather.

I adored Series 8 and it's easily one of my favorite seasons of the revived series. At the very least, I enjoyed every episode. It was a fantastic debut season for Capaldi's Doctor and, if she's leaving soon, it was a wonderful definitive season for Clara Oswald. While I loved Tennant's and Smith's Doctors, Capaldi was a welcome breath of fresh air. I quickly took a liking to him and now, as with Tennant and Smith, I adore him. I can't wait to see what the future of his tenure holds (adventures, monsters, companions, the like).

I'm very interested in seeing how this Christmas special plays out. Nick Frost as Santa. Clara returning. Alien-esque monsters at the North Pole. All of it has certainly grabbed my curiosity. In relation to Clara, I see this going in one of two ways. Either this will be Clara's final adventure with the Doctor or she'll decide to join the Doctor again and we'll get another season of Clara Oswald. I'm fine with either, if you ask me. If she leaves then I'll be satisfied with her fantastic tenure and I'll begin to excitably anticipate the arrival of the next companion. If she stays then I get to see more adventures involving my second favorite TARDIS team. It's a win-win for me!
