Kind of feels like robots of Sherwood was the "Let's laugh a bit and then you will sit on the death and fear train" (pun unintended) episode.

@Seaborn W Deadman Every doctor is a fundamentally different person with the exception of his memories and his base fundamental ideas and core morality. 12 leaving Clara there in Deep Breath or letting that soldier die in Into the dalek were not out of character at all. He did things like that in the Classic series too. Not all the doctors but it happened and not just with 6. Except the eyes of the modern day viewer is so accustomed to the silly young goody-two-shoes doctors we tent to forget that the doctor has a quite dark side too which we know will eventually lead to him being called "The beast" and to the creation of the Valeyard (as said in NOTD). And 12 has an abundance of a very human quality most of the doctors lacked: Selfishness. And to be honest i like this very much, because i can not predict what he will do, while with 9, 10 and 11 you knew he will go back and save the day anyway, but with 12 you just can't be sure. One more thing: Nearly all of you wanted a darker doctor. Now that you got it, don't start crying because the doctor is dark. I really liked 10 and 11, but i really really enjoy how mature and thought provoking Capaldi turned the doctor into.

I have to go with yes. I re-watched that part where we see the presumed monster for a brief few seconds and it's short and bald and looks kind of like a pale sontaren. It's probably even shorter than Rupert.
4 days, 19 hours ago on Poll: Listen – Was there a Monster or not?
As i said before 10/10 in my books is the episode that has that DOTD quality and fun factor to it, and i can't give this lower than 10/10. I absolutely loved this episode. It was timey-whimey and looked into past and future alike sewing them together masterfully. I am 25 but even i was sitting on edge of my chair at certain scenes. The hiding monster is bone chilling and even though it shows some parts of Clara's possible future it never states it's hers. And that scene at the end with the young doctor and the ranch which will end up being the place in DOTD. I can't even explain this properly in words, but i feel like this was a masterpiece far better than Blink. A perfect showcase how being a time traveler means that even 2000 years later you may end up accidentally creating your beginnings. Good job Mr. Moffat. In my books this was a masterpiece. Also this was the first time when i looked at Capaldi and i properly and fully saw the doctor.

I am Hungarian so so i'm not native speaker either and i have absolutely no problem understanding him. If i have no problem with it people oversees should have.
I know mine is an unpopular opinion, but i found Cold War the best of these. I just like the setting and the monster for some reason.

This will be one of the episodes where i won't watch the pre-released scene and probably not even the released images. I don't want to spoil anything about this.

@thelonelycenturion @Whogasms Oh thank you, that makes sense! I was wondering how he did that when the sonic doesn't work on wood, but you are right!

After the second watch. I have to give this a 7. It was good. I especially liked the music of this and the bickering between the doctor and Robin was very entertaining even if not always funny. Even though it was super cheesy, especially the sheriff, and the enemies were pretty bland, but the 12's reactions and his grumpiness and disbelief was hilarious. "All these diseases! if you were real you would be dead in 6 months!" I just lol-ed at that. Clara was also pretty good this week, especially when she lead the group when they were imprisoned. Overall 6.7 for me which rounds up to 7.

@bringmeknitting @Exalos I think 11 would just laugh and say "Oh really? That's so cool, it's really Robin hood! You were right! You are really Robin Hood right? The hoody robiny Robin Hood!" Or something like that.

I watched it the first time. this episode is too damn cheesy for me, but i like the underlying message. The editing and scene transition is pretty damn horrible sometimes, but it gets better by the end of it. Some of you said it's like a Matt Smith episode, but i really like it with Cpaldi's doctor, and how he just doesn't want to believe the legend even though he is creating it himself. That golden arrow of solution at the end is sooooooooo bad...... I don't know, i really have to watch it again. Some scenes are just damn right 3 or 4 points for me while others are 7 or 8. I think will settle somewhere at 6 or just maybe 7 at the end. That homing arrow though :D What is this man in tights? :D
That picture where Robin teaches Clara how to use the bow would be so much funner if instead of Clara he would do that to the disgusted, grimacing Doctor. :D

@Beasts_a_Snarling Stop turning every villain into the master :D Moffat said the Master won't return this season.
@NeutronFlow @Exalos @jchinuk Whops :D
2 weeks, 5 days ago on Into the Dalek UK Ratings
@jchinuk William Hartnell was a grumpy old man, who was very unsympathetic at first and people still loved her, even the kids. I don't know why people don't get this, but kids are not weak, fragile scaredy cats without brains you have to treat affectionately and kind all the times. They also enjoy antiheroes and seeing people turned to dust in TV, no to mention bad-ass protagonists, which 12 certainly is. I think kids will like him more than adults.
Watched it a second time. Even though it was not perfect i have to give it an 8. It was really enjoyable. 12 is really really alien, probably on the level of 4, which is pretty scary. His statement of "She cares so i don't have to" is just frighteningly true. When he says to the poor guy "Trust me" then he is incinerated by the antibodies and he just goes on like nothing happened... I start to feel like he truly thrown the half faced man out of that balloon last week. Yet somehow under the cold shield he is caring and very compassionate about what he can do for others. Just think about it: he probably is the first of all doctors who from his heart wanted to save the daleks from themselves. I think this incarnation is kind of this lost child who realized he lived cursed by lies for a 1000 years and is scared to open up to people, and hates soldiers because of what he thought he did in the time war for ~300 years and he is tired of fighting in trenzalore for 900 years. Unlike the previous doctors who found their purpose pretty soon, 12 is like a child still molding who hides his fears behind a scary face. And that's pretty new. I don't think any of the doctors were quite like that before. Capaldi is superb this week too, the Missy mystery continues and just like last week the episodes ends with a kind of "To be continued feeling". I was pretty worried about Danny, but he is lovably awkward and what else but a soldier (exactly what the good old Doc hates). I don't think Clara likes him yet, he just wants to be kind to the guy. (I reserve 9 for waters of mars quality episodes and 10 for Day of the doctor quality so 8 is the best i can give this.). Oh and i really liked the Daleks this week and Rusty's change was absolutely believable with the birth of the star and stuff, and i really really appreciated how he didn't turn good in the end just take on the doctor's hatred as an instinct (They were made to hate after all.)

@usmandikkoladan It was 2 weeks for Clara.
@The Abominable Zombie I think Danny was superb. Looks like he has some back story and he is so awkwardly likable :D
@IceDaleks I think that was the point.
2 things to say "He was dead anyways" and "You are a good dalek" chills ran up and down on me. Capaldi's doctor is fantastic. I love how morally ambiguous he is.
I initially though 11th hour was better, but now that i re-watched it, it barely deals with the doctor's post regenerative state. The whole thing becomes just some yellow dust and taste exploration, and the whole thing is just the doctor and the companions running up and down all episode. There is that two cool scene where we see how the doctor thinks and the "i am the doctor" hologram one at the end, but that's it. Deep Breath on the other hand deals with the doctor's confusion, his morality, his self exploration, unlike the 11th hour the villain is great and it feels like it gives an additional layer to the doctor's persona and the whole science o the regeneration. Of course it has it tidbits and faults, and Capaldi's manipulative uncaring, darker doctor might not be as exciting for out childish jumpy nerves at first, and the Tardis doesn't get a complete revamp either, but Deep Breath feels somehow more of a regeneration story that the 11th hour. So Deep Breath for me.

@mrpaddy1984 That's probably not his initial reaction. There was this other clip where the guy says "Doctor, here is you patient" and his look was saying something like "Oh f*ck!".

I gravitate towards the "Yes" because of what he says before. "I have a terrible feeling i might have to kill you." and exactly because of that look afterwards.

1 month ago on Details on Series 8’s First Four Episodes
Anyhow i think whoever she is, she must be from the future, since she seems to know The doctor's personality (the current one) even though 12 himself is unsure of it yet. Also she just emits this time lady vibe (i'm not sure is she is one or she just picked it up along the way). Definitely and older version of Clara went mad is a good approach, but i don't know--- We have to see more of her. That circa 5 minutes didn't really shown her at all (But that's to be expected, it was the 1st episode.) However she is certainly a more interesting plot starter than a crack on a wall.
3 weeks, 5 days ago on Introducing Missy the “Gatekeeper”: Who is She?
I'm just gonna trow this stupid idea into the mix. 1st incarnation of the Valeyard born from the madness and bloodshed the doctor saw on Trenzalore and from his wish to not leave Clara alone. He said "Anything but old" after all :D That includes women :D Why not right? Same chances as the master or the Rani :D I'm not serious of course.
This heaven might be another computer world like where River "Lives". Interestingly the only 2 "races" we know that are present in the "paradise" are the half faced clockwork droid guy and the Cyberman. What is this? Robot heaven?
@Antee991166 If i were a kid i would found him scary i think. Well i still do. He just has this supervillain stare.

@Ava Averson @Exalos I had to stop and go get some fresh air after the episode ended. I never ever do that again. This holding the breath thing.
Ok i watched it a second time and still loving it! Anybody else who was trying to hold his/her breath along with Clara when she tried to escape the droids after the doctor kind of left her? It was absolute torture but i did it.
@darklugia565 @Big_Bird96 Not to mention the Christmas invasion.... That one was bad....
@Lord Styro the Drashig I though about the same thing. When he left Clara there after they beat the droids and before he came back for her, that's where the DOTD scene took part.
@Type40Charlie I loved that cliffhanger. Did he do it? or the droid did it?
@Regenfrustration I'm not too knowledgeable with the classic seasons. Why do you think she is the Rani?
@The Lazy Cat He is 12's "girlfriend" apparently :D
12 is fantastic! Clara was really good, and the paternoster gang was used perfectly too!
Looks like I'm the only one who thinks "Rose" was pretty bad? The plot was uninteresting the opponent isn't frightening at all and i just never really liked Rose (She was such a drama queen). 9 was superb but that was just not enough to save the whole thing.

@Zakk Williams Same here. What is unlikable about them? They are very strong side characters and Strax's antics are just due to his programmed mindset as a Sontaren. I guess Jenny and Vastra can be a bit of an eyesore if you are against same-sex relationships tough.

As much as i can understand most of your problems is that the paternoster gang is still here. I like them so i'm pretty excited now.
Ilyootha down there is right, this major villain might be Davros. Remember teaser 2?
4 weeks ago on Moffat Teases “Major Foe” For Series 8
@TardisBoy Well, that's true, but they were the opponents in River's first/last episode.
@TardisBoy Or Charles Dance.
I think the other major foe has to return in either "Kill the moon" or "In the forest of the night" or possibly someone who we know as "The guardian of the Novasphere, Missy" right now. I wouldn't mind a female master, or heck i wanna see the Valeyard. Moffat even brought him up in "name of the doctor".
With all seriousness. In the FOREST of the night.... Vashta Nerada? They are also a Moffat monster.
OMG Mr Cpaladi does an awesome job. I usually find it strange to watch the first episodes of a doctor because the new actor makes the character a little wrong somehow (It's not their fault, it my for being accustomed to the previous actor), but as soon as i finished watching this i was like: "That's the doctor alright".

It was a nice way of saying: "We might kill Clara during the series, so we don't have to do it on christmas day."
I really don't get why Moffat is hated so much... He is pretty cool guy (well as much as i can tell from interviews and show panels), he knows his own mistakes and he is sincerely trying to write the best stories he can and make the show better more popular.
