According to Doctor Who extra, the siege mode Tardis is how the Tardis looks like when the chameleon circuit is totally offline. So that is the true appearance of a Tardis. If that's true, then ones we saw in TNOTD are Tardises chameleoned to the walls of the workshop in Gallifrey.

@BollingerKnickers I think the problem lies with the fact that the new doctor is very different from the previous two and more like the classic ones. On top of it like how it was with the most of the classic series the story is more about the companion and less focused on the doctor, so the pacing feels off for you. Try re watching some of the previous seasons with this mindset and then some the episodes this series again, it might help.

@Gustaff The doctor died 12 times already. Okay he regenerates, but the man he was dies and a new one appears. I know he is fundamentally the same man, but still, it's sad to see a doctor go nonetheless. Also: Ask the guy when Deryl will die in TWD or when Tyrion will die in GoT. Answer: Never, because they are either fan favorites or essential to the story. Same with the doctor and his companions except the companions do die time to time, so tell guy to STFU.

I voted on the doctor and on lights off. Reasons: 1. However powerful and smart the doctor is, it's not his role to decide our fate. He is here to protect us from people who try to destroy us by breaking the laws of the galactic civilizations like the shadow proclamation not to be our God and form the future of our race. 2. Anybody who would let the lights on is... and i'm really sorry to say this... an idiot, or can't really place him/herself into that situation. Let's say you are super smart and you figured the moon will disintegrate and the bits falling off won't destroy the earth. What guarantees that the creature won't be a vicious predator? Sure let's say you somehow came to the conclusion it won't be. You realize the fact that it's game over for the human civilization without the moon right? The earth's axis would destabilize and tornadoes/earthquakes and tsunamis would be ac common as flu. If you want to live in a world like that just to save one creature that possibly comes down and devours you, then you are insane. And there is just no f*kin way you would be able to predict that it lies a new egg right away with the same mass and distance as the moon. It was kind of a plotshield for the earth in the episode anyways.

This episode was pretty damn good. I feel like we saw the doctor's soul in this episode. He is the man who keeps going until he wins, or loses using the most efficient way possible. If 9 was a war survivor 10 was the human expert 11 was the mad professor then 12 is the Detective of alien affairs. He tries to save the people, but do not bothers wasting the precious time has to save the ones he can still save on people he can not save anymore. That's why he seems heartless. For me this was on pair with Waters of Mars. So 9/10.

The doctor. He was 100% right. He is not there to decide how your civilization will continue, he is there to make sure it will. He never promises you that you won't be scared and hopeless, he only promises you an adventure and safety if he can help it. Clara was just whining because for the first time she didn't have her doctor to hold her hand. (And no she didn't really have a chance to decide in TNOTD)

@Timhogan @Exalos The doctor says if they kill the creature the weight of it puts things in order and the moon will not be destroyed, but there will be a huge corpse floating "up there". So it wasn't just about trust. BTW i watched it a second time and so i rethought a few things and it's overall a strong 7 for me, but i still feel this wasn't any better than that. The spider creatures were pretty much unused too. It was good, but i still like some of the episodes of the series more.

I honestly don't get this episode. It wasn't bad or anything, it was just.... weird... I think the humans decision to kill the creature and the doctor's decision to leave the answer to the humans were completely justified and it's not like this is the first time the doctor made Clara scared (Although Danny was really good again, when he consoled Clara at the end). Innocent creature or not of course you don't take the chance to it destroying the earth. Also something the episode just happened to forget for convenience sake, that if the moon were destroyed the gravity loss effect wouldn't just stop the tides, but would also destabilize the axis of the earth, which would result in horrible natural disasters as the planet would sway in an unpredictable pattern. So Clara's decision to keep the creature alive was wrong no matter how i look at it, and no sane human would ever do that. "The needs of the many outweighs the needs of the few" is not a nice thing to say, but in certain situations where the many is a much bigger number it must be applied, like it or not. And what was that bull at the end when a newborn creature just suddenly happens to lay another egg in a blink of an eye? I have to watch this again, but i doubt i can give this any better than a 6 or just maybe possibly a 7. It was OK., but a huge disappointment.

@Beasts_a_Snarling The first showed off to absolutely everybody. He was overprotective of Susan and always tried to show how smart he is by asking questions mostly only he knew how to answer. Moffat is completely right here, the doctor is a showoff, sometimes less sometimes more, depending on the incarnation.

First watch here: It was a genuinely good episode. Didn't feel long, but didn't feel short either. The monster was not too much, but this episode wasn't about the monster at all, but rather the three main characters and int accomplished the clash of the three superbly. Very very enjoyable watch and i really doubt it will feel worse the second time. I don't know which scene they thought they might gone too far, but my bet would be the one where all of them are in the TARDIS. I don't think it was much at all, both of them were just ass*oles to each other, and we later found out why. Also we got a little more about the promised land too. Overall it was a very solid enjoyable episode. 8/10.

It's just my theory but i think his hatred for soldiers simply comes from living 1200 years on a planet that was constantly in war and he had to guard it with soldiers against soldiers. Basically all he saw for most than half of his like are soldiers and probably lots of his friends there killed by them or worse. I don't think it's prejudice, more like he just cant look at them anymore. It doesn't mean he can't come to respect them or he will automatically come to hate his older soldier friends, it's just kind of a trauma to him. Also i think it's just one of the thing Moffat thought we will figure without too much explanation. Well it's just my theory though.

7/10 it was good. Nothing earth shattering but great fun for one or two watch. Certainly not better than any of the previous episodes, but it was good to see an episode where no one in the doctor's group or the on the villains side dies. So in a sense it was a little filler-y, but still a good watch.

@Seaborn W Deadman Every doctor is a fundamentally different person with the exception of his memories and his base fundamental ideas and core morality. 12 leaving Clara there in Deep Breath or letting that soldier die in Into the dalek were not out of character at all. He did things like that in the Classic series too. Not all the doctors but it happened and not just with 6. Except the eyes of the modern day viewer is so accustomed to the silly young goody-two-shoes doctors we tent to forget that the doctor has a quite dark side too which we know will eventually lead to him being called "The beast" and to the creation of the Valeyard (as said in NOTD). And 12 has an abundance of a very human quality most of the doctors lacked: Selfishness. And to be honest i like this very much, because i can not predict what he will do, while with 9, 10 and 11 you knew he will go back and save the day anyway, but with 12 you just can't be sure. One more thing: Nearly all of you wanted a darker doctor. Now that you got it, don't start crying because the doctor is dark. I really liked 10 and 11, but i really really enjoy how mature and thought provoking Capaldi turned the doctor into.

I have to go with yes. I re-watched that part where we see the presumed monster for a brief few seconds and it's short and bald and looks kind of like a pale sontaren. It's probably even shorter than Rupert.

As i said before 10/10 in my books is the episode that has that DOTD quality and fun factor to it, and i can't give this lower than 10/10. I absolutely loved this episode. It was timey-whimey and looked into past and future alike sewing them together masterfully. I am 25 but even i was sitting on edge of my chair at certain scenes. The hiding monster is bone chilling and even though it shows some parts of Clara's possible future it never states it's hers. And that scene at the end with the young doctor and the ranch which will end up being the place in DOTD. I can't even explain this properly in words, but i feel like this was a masterpiece far better than Blink. A perfect showcase how being a time traveler means that even 2000 years later you may end up accidentally creating your beginnings.  Good job Mr. Moffat. In my books this was a masterpiece. Also this was the first time when i looked at Capaldi and i properly and fully saw the doctor.

After the second watch. I have to give this a 7. It was good. I especially liked the music of this and the bickering between the doctor and Robin was very entertaining even if not always funny. Even though it was super cheesy, especially the sheriff, and the enemies were pretty bland, but the 12's reactions and his grumpiness and disbelief was hilarious. "All these diseases! if you were real you would be dead in 6 months!" I just lol-ed at that. Clara was also pretty good this week, especially when she lead the group when they were imprisoned. Overall 6.7 for me which rounds up to 7.

I watched it the first time. this episode is too damn cheesy for me, but i like the underlying message. The editing and scene transition is pretty damn horrible sometimes, but it gets better by the end of it. Some of you said it's like a Matt Smith episode, but i really like it with Cpaldi's doctor, and how he just doesn't want to believe the legend even though he is creating it himself. That golden arrow of solution at the end is sooooooooo bad...... I don't know, i really have to watch it again. Some scenes are just damn right 3 or 4 points for me while others are 7 or 8. I think will settle somewhere at 6 or just maybe 7 at the end. That homing arrow though :D What is this man in tights? :D

@jchinuk William Hartnell was a grumpy old man, who was very unsympathetic at first and people still loved her, even the kids. I don't know why people don't get this, but kids are not weak, fragile scaredy cats without brains you have to treat affectionately and kind all the times. They also enjoy antiheroes and seeing people turned to dust in TV, no to mention bad-ass protagonists, which 12 certainly is. I think kids will like him more than adults.

Watched it a second time. Even though it was not perfect i have to give it an 8. It was really enjoyable. 12 is really really alien, probably on the level of 4, which is pretty scary. His statement of "She cares so i don't have to" is just frighteningly true. When he says to the poor guy "Trust me" then he is incinerated by the antibodies and he just goes on like nothing happened... I start to feel like he truly thrown the half faced man out of that balloon last week. Yet somehow under the cold shield he is caring and very compassionate about what he can do for others. Just think about it: he probably is the first of all doctors who from his heart wanted to save the daleks from themselves. I think this incarnation is kind of this lost child who realized he lived cursed by lies for a 1000 years and is scared to open up to people, and hates soldiers because of what he thought he did in the time war for ~300 years and he is tired of fighting in trenzalore for 900 years. Unlike the previous doctors who found their purpose pretty soon, 12 is like a child still molding who hides his fears behind a scary face. And that's pretty new. I don't think any of the doctors were quite like that before. Capaldi is superb this week too, the Missy mystery continues and just like last week the episodes ends with a kind of "To be continued feeling". I was pretty worried about Danny, but he is lovably awkward and what else but a soldier (exactly what the good old Doc hates). I don't think Clara likes him yet, he just wants to be kind to the guy. (I reserve 9 for waters of mars quality episodes and 10 for Day of the doctor quality so 8 is the best i can give this.). Oh and i really liked the Daleks this week and Rusty's change was absolutely believable with the birth of the star and stuff, and i really really appreciated how he didn't turn good in the end just take on the doctor's hatred as an instinct (They were made to hate after all.)
